[CP] Presidential Update - UK Peace, Canada and More

Dear Ireland,

I am sorry for my media inactivity, really, I'll be working more on that now that we most probably wont be as busy for the rest of the mandate. Thanks for you understanding.

I will today discuss the following:
* IRE-UK Peace
* EDEN
* Canada
* War against Sweden
* The future
* Other issues





The War with the UK:

Ireland has bravely fought the British for several months. Today this comes to an end.
Ireland has bravely fought the UK for several months now, and I am proud to say that it is under my presidency that a peace treaty finally was concluded.
I sent Sweet Drinker, MUFC92 and Irishbhoy1967 to a meeting with the UK, during which a treaty finally was brokered.
Ireland will be staying in Northern Ireland and Scotland. We will conclude land swaps to make this happen after congress elections. In exchange the UK gains a congress for the first time in three months.
I would like to thank Ethel Rosenberg, Irishbhoy1967, MUFC92, Sweet Drinker and Irish_rebel_reborn for helping me out when I needed it the most in both the past war, and in brokering this treaty.
After a treaty was ready to be signed, we passed it onwards to the Dáil, in which they voted in favour for the treaty.

EDEN:

EDEN has gone through a couple of rough months internally, and this month it became so much more than internal. ONE has started to push forward and they're gaining ground on EDEN rapidly.
At the start of this term, EDEN SC Oles got impeached, later to be replaced by TTi09. TTi managed to clear up several issues, however, some he did not manage to repair.
A few days ago it was decided by EDEN that Turkey's trial membership should be terminated. The day afterwards several CP's demanded the revocation of said cancellation, and Turkey was reinstituted as a trial member of EDEN, resulting in Bulgaria leaving and invading Turkey, soon to be followed by Greece invading Bulgaria.
Soon to be followed, there was another vote to impeach TTi09 as SC. This proposition was voted down, however, shortly afterwards TTi decided to step down as SC. Only a few hours ago the presidents of EDEN gathered once more to decide a SC by vote, and Iaswn won by a small majority.
Congratulations Isawn, I hope you will do a great job and repair many broken things within EDEN. We have fate in you.

With that said, there has been many speculations on how whether or not Ireland would stay in EDEN or not.
Ireland has stayed loyal to EDEN through thick and thin before, and we will continue to stand beside our brothers for much longer to come. EDEN has undeniable always been there for Ireland in her moment of need, and we shall be there for EDEN.

Oh Canada...

Due to the peace treaty recently brokered with the UK, Canada being frustrated over not being included, has decided to launch a NE on Ireland, issued by their president.
You can see their NE proposal here.
It is sad that it had to come to this, but a treachery is a treachery nevertheless. Aggression towards Ireland will not be accepted, and we will do our best to ensure the safety of our shores and borders.
By showing this act of aggression Canada is breaking the charter of EDEN, by attacking a fellow EDEN nation.

The War with Sweden:

Only a few days ago we launched an invasion of Sweden. The goal of this invasion was to leave Sweden without any congress, which with we failed. We did however decrease their amount of congress seats remarkably.
We first entered Sweden through the northern Danish region of Nordjylland, a strategically important region in northern Europe. We proceeded into Scania, onto Smaland, Gotland, Gotaland, however, the Swedish quickly re-organized after their defeats in the MPP battles and RW'd the regions shortly afterwards.
Upon launching a second attack on the isle of Gotland, the Swedish had organized up a strong defence, and with the support of ONE they by all means defeated us, and thus our war has come to an end.
Some may call this war pointless, others may call it fun, and there will be some who will look at their reduced congress seats and realized that it was not entirely in vain.
The Swedes beat us fair and square in the end, and fore this we owe them our respect.

The Future:

We will be preparing and doing our best to repel a possible invasion by the Canadians, and we will focus a large amount of energy on defending our dear island. Diplomatically Ireland is very strong, whilst Canada is weaker, we are seeing a large amount of support from our brothers, and for this we thank you all.
We will repay our allies, no matter how much it may cost, no matter how much time it may take. Our allies have been there for us and we will be there for them.
If we should succeed in keeping Canada out, or should their NE not pass, I will focus all our energy on assisting our allies in the remaining days of my mandate.
I know some of you may be disappointed by my performance so far in this month, but I hope you understand that I have been putting every effort I have been able to into this job, and I hope that together we can make Ireland even stronger than it already is.

Other issues:


Bulgaria:

Many people have questioned Ireland's dedication towards Bulgaria, and their dedication to us. The fact is simple, we are true brothers and true brothers never let each other down. Bulgaria has shown so much support for Ireland in the past, and we will do our best to show support for Bulgaria.
