[CP] ODIN Letter

Day 2,113, 18:06 Published in Norway Norway by Per Jostein

Hello!

A friendly Brazilian citizen, member of the organization called ODIN has contacted me, aiming to increase the relations between ODIN and Norway, as well as among ODIN and the other Nordic countries, since this organization has a great link with Scandinavian culture. I invite you to read their letter below.

ODIN - "Organization of Dio, International in Nordic lands" (In reality the meaning always was "Organization for the Defense of National Interest"

Dear Norwegan Citizens,

As a small summary of what happened on Brazil, that lead to our current situation:

Brazil had a change in its international position, between Eden and One, and it pissed of a militar unit called CAT. So, they started a Party do defend their position.

The seek of power was so big they joined forces with a party full of fake members, probably created by script, and lead to a creation of another militarized party.

The strategy used was, to our standards, too low, so we decided to withdraw from the political scenary, to not participate or get involved on that.

We change our Party, that was active and without paralel on our country, to a brotherhood, where we gathered all members that do not want to participate in the new way of politics, with fake members, too early aproach on new members (making them quit), giving away al institutions that made governments work, to a new impositional (without discussions or even thinking) form of govern.

Well, since we abandoned the political scenary, but we got a lot of know-how on organization, stimulation and social interaction, we decided to take a vote, to where we could "export" this knowledge, from a lot of friendly countries, and the one that got the most impact of all was a Nordic one: Norway.

Why? I think its simple, its because of our Roleplay, our way to see and comunicate: Viking culture and Mythology.

To present to you some of our projects, that designed our way of things, i could start with some of our 20+ projects, but the one that was the brightest was always our Roleplay.

We did all the democratic way to do: we voted, we debated, we listened, and decided. The decision was communicated by an article, that had our roleplay, electin the Great Thor or Freyja (Party President), our Huskarls (Official Congress Candidates), ou Fryids (Congress Candidates that will not be elected, to avoid a Take Over, for example). We celebrated the victory with a fictional story about the winners, in each election.

Inside this, we got inspiration on the famous nordic organization. We had forum comunicaton, as well as irc, and a well organized "tree" of comunication "in game". We created forms on gdocs to gather info from our members, we debated critical and important subjects on forum, and compiled them to articles, we made several events to stimulate participation and interaction.

We tried to take the best on social, political, and cultural aspect of the game. I think (apart of the language, the googletranslator could help), you all could see some of our expertise in the political aspect (The size of Odin and 3 years of ODIN), our Roleplay (Sword Chant, Great Thor Election, and Another Sword Chant).

We also published some of our opinions, a summary of our internal debates, as articles (ODIN's Official Pronunciation, ODIN's Opinion, we interviewed some of our active members (Gulitiwi Interview, Diego Virmond's Interview), we made some celebration of the work was being done (IX ODIN Awards, V ODIN Awards, Yggdrasil Festival).

We had a cinematography industry (ODIN Movies, ODIN Movies 2), we had olimpic games to spread the knowledge of our eHistory of country and party (3rd Olimpic Games).

We did our best to help, stimulate and teach our new members about the game (Newbie Guide, Servide of clearing Doubts of New Users), and we did our best to make them interact on this social game.

We even got an podcast, where we talked about the national and international scenary (and about some annoying players) - Our Podcast in portuguese!

All that with a strict code of conduct, an honour code that we kept to guide all our members (ODIN code and ODIN's National Plan).

We had a lot of other projects, as wou can see in this article (Gladsheim Fortress), and more, some of them we didn't and won't publish, but are willing to share.

This is a little explanation, of us, what we did, and what we are willing to do, but... why?

Well, this is the ending part. The game starts to get automated and boring if we do not interact with others. And, inspired on an international project we had, we decided to go abroad, to go away of the dark path our country decided to go. We also want to practice, and learn, english and if possible, another language, share a new culture. For us, with this kind of interaction, we felt that we could make a good use of our knowledge, or end leaving the game. So, here we are, presenting ourselves to your comunity.

Best Regards, from all the entusiastic fans of the Nordic Culture - ODIN

My desire is that our bonds become stronger, starting de facto an integration of ODIN in Asgard!
