[CP] Let's get to work

Day 2,421, 08:11 Published in Ireland Ireland by Seanan

Citizens of Ireland,

Thank you for your support. This last election was one of the few unpredictable and diverse elections in recent months; I'd like to thank my opponents for the clean campaigns and welcome them into my government as contributing members. Reflecting back when I was last elected to govern our nation, this will be my 2nd time as Taoiseach and the 2nd time my platform has involved a Friendly War with the Canucks as well as significant structural changes to our military organization. It's good to be back!

Establishing my government has began and all Ministers have received their initial Directives. I'd like to welcome Anthony Colby, Patrick O'leary and The Republics Assassin into my Cabinet since my initial announcement. The Department of Defence and the Director of Ambassies are also seeking additional bodies, contact Ian Arbuckle and Kordak respectively if you are interested.

This next month will need spirit and discipline. The success of my Government's negotiations and lobbying with our international partners in pursuit of achieving a War Game or an Airstrike will depend on the strength and backing of our population at home. With the developing internal struggles in our neighbour UK, the harsh words between USA and Sirius along Canada wishing to extend into Europe - we live in interesting times. War is in the air. In the next few days, Ministers and I will be updating you on developing issues significant to our standing in the New World as well as bring the community engaging project via the overstaffed Community Department. This should be the slowest part of the month as the Government finds its feet and gets our sh*t together.

What is my assessment so far? I intend to pursue every means available to gain us an amiable war, but there is always the chance, that war may come to us not at our own means and we must steel ourselves for such circumstances - the need for cohesion in our military and Dáil Éireann are absolute. Tighten the ship, Ireland! And watch this space.

Thank you,
~Seanan
