[CP] Foreign Affairs, Alliances, Congress and more!

Hello my friends and fellow eCanadians, both at home and abroad.

I come to you today with lots of updates, and will be addressing: Congress Elections, Foreign Affairs work, eCanada's future Alliance-wise!



Congress Elections

FIRST OFF, YES, WE WILL BE GETTING A CONGRESS.

Hurrah for some, boo for others, really depends on your viewpoint and ideas about Congress.

Yay for everyone in general so yeah, hurrah!

As we did (if I recall correctly) have 4 regions on the day change at the end of the 23rd we will be having a full Congress this term as we have managed to survive in lovely little Saskatchewan.

Congress will be a bit more skewed than normal however as with losing regions some Candidates have been forcibly withdrawn from contention.

Also, I would like to formally Welcome "The Muppet Show" to Congress this term, it is their party's first Congressional Term and I'm sure they will work hard to ensure they aren't simply one-hit wonders. 😉

As for the Candidates who were removed from contention, for next time, always speak with your Congress Whip or PP as for what region to "run from" as it often makes a major difference in the Congressional Scene, as it likely will this term.



Foreign Affairs

Our Foreign Affairs department has been busy reaching out in all directions gauging where support is Strongest and Weakest and to see where eCanada could end up in the coming months.

We have held meetings with many nations, none of which were off the table from the beginning, some of which may even surprise you. We have been making friends at every turn and will continue to do so until eCanada has committed to an entity, or something along those lines, when that time comes. It will come of course, as with what most predict will be the next major conflict in the eWorld eCanada must be ready to do it's part for those who deserve our support.

Regardless do not fear eCanada, this is a time of great change in the eWorld and eCanada will not be abandoning it's dearest allies nor will we forget those who have helped us so far in our current conflict or those of the past. After all, The North Never Forgets.

This leads us into our next, and arguably the most important, section.



Alliances

As many of you know, our American Neighbours to the South have been buddying up with our Attackers as of late, and it would appear, and has for some time, that eCanada does not belong in that ball park. With 3 of the 4-6 major players in this newly forming "Alliance" Attacking us directly (in the past week-ish) I think that we can all agree that that makes that alliance somewhat out of bounds for our nation.

This brings us to other options. I will not be naming names, nor giving specific details until I have discussed these plans with our newly elected Congress tomorrow afternoon, but eCanada has found a place where we are wanted and could be of great service to this "Alliance" forming.

In the meantime, I have been approached by and meeting constantly with the leaders of those "dearest allies" I mentioned earlier. Canada has engaged in a Sort of Bloc "Alliance" with our close friends, namely; France, Ireland, Portugal and Germany.

These nations have been some of eCanada's closest allies in recent history, from fighting wars on foreign fields together, to freeing each others regions from oppression we have been through thick and thin together but always find time and energy for each other when needed. This Coalition is a way to ensure we, as a group, reach a consensus of sorts as to where our Political and Military Allegiances lie in the near future. With many alliances forming and being planned or talked about in every corner of this eWorld we must plan and choose our moves carefully to ensure we end up in a good spot.

Aside from these allies, eCanada has been constantly working alongside Asgard and various other nations around to world that we have been friendly with in recent history. These nations are our friends and will not simply be forgotten because a few nations had an argument and are seeking separation. eCanada remembers its allies and works hard to be there for them in their times of need.

So, as soon as the elections are done tomorrow and the Old Congressmen are out and the new are Masked I will be posting in Congressional Threads to get conversation/debate going over where eCanada stands. Once we reach agreement I will post a full update on where we stand, who we stand with, and what the future holds for our Great White North.
