[CP] First Presidential Article

Day 1,477, 08:55 Published in Philippines Norway by Sigurd Aasen

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who voted in yesterdays presidential election and my opponent, Daniel Samarin. It was a great election and a struggle to the end. I think the people of ePhilippines for entrusting me with the job as the President of our fabulous eCountry. I would also like to extend the thanks to last months president, Berritas, who did an exceptional role in his job. I hope I can continue such a high standard for this term.

There has been a change in the government now, following the passing of the reforms proposed by Niall as part of his reforming of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The reforms will turn the AFP into a force for new citizens to join and be trained in the military unit before passing onto one of the 'elite' military units in our country. The AFP shall, therefore, only serve as a starter military unit. This way, citizens can be supplied and receiving training in the military module, instead of joining one of the 'elite' units immediately and not knowing how to use the military module and becoming disheartened and losing interest in the game.

Niall shall therefore takeover the position of the newly created post, the Minister of New Citizens. His deputies shall be:
RaymondN and
Jon873.
I hope these reforms shall benefit the new citizens of ePhilippines and create a new educated and determined generation of players in our eCountry.

In reference to our Foreign Affairs, our Mutual Protection Pact (MPP) with Canada will expire within the next day or so, and it was agreed with some of my ministers to allow the MPP to expire. I have sent a message to the eCanadian President informing him of our intentions, and thanking him for their alliance in the previous month.

I have, however, been in contact with the new eIrish President and he has agreed to sign an MPP with us. eIreland have been our allies for a long time and I am delighted to have been able to sign this alliance. The MPP shall be put before congress later on today or tomorrow when the eIrish President gains access to the funds for the MPP.

It has unfolded that while I have been writing this article, the Russian president has also proposed a renewal of our MPP with that country. I was not informed by the Russian president prior to the proposal that he would be authorising this renewal and so I unfortunately have to declare that the MPP should be voted NO by members of congress. I have contacted the Russian President proclaiming that we did not intend to renew the MPP and have issued the instruction to vote it down.

I hope this is the beginning of a success month in which we can all work together to achieve progress in our great country.

Thank you
Sigurd Aasen
