‘Cor Blimey! Who in the world is this Pom?

Day 490, 02:38 Published in Australia India by DonMogul

Hello my fellow Australians! I am DonMogul, I have recently joined this great nation of ours, and I am now standing for Congress in the Northern Territory.

Now why should you vote for some guy who until very recently was a Brit?

Firstly mates, I am a RL Australian. I joined eRepublik when it was in its beta days and the only thing that stopped me coming to Australia was because…. Australia did not exist and was not appearing in the countries list on the signup page. I did not know until after I had done some digging the following day that our great nation had been annexed by Indonesia. When I was eBorn, I decided to join the United Kingdom… seeing as how Australia did not exist and I do not speak Indonesian, the UK was my next best option.

However, while I was in the UK, I was a very busy bloke. I started small slowly training my strength up, slowly saving money to buy my first eHouse. After about 3 months, the National Health Service (NHS) was created and I became the first Director of the NHS’s London branch. It was my duty to track and maintain the wellness of my fellow citizens. The clinic ran very well, marred on the rare occasion by RL illnesses.

Once the clinic was running smoothly, I stood for Congress in London. I was honoured by a number of citizens with their votes and became a Congressman for the first time. Throughout my term, I worked very hard attempting to improve the NHS system and tried to persuade the UK to come to the political assistance of a certain European country that was under threat of a political takeover.

My hard work for the UK was recognised and I was appointed as Under Minister for Health. It was my task to approve budgets for the NHS clinics and to aid the Minister for Health in his bid to improve the system. We put in some hard yakka in that time.

I also applied for and was accepted into the UK’s elite fighting force, the Paratroopers. I served in many theatres of war which included every fight for Australian independence… including the ones that were started ‘illegally’ (although that was done as a private citizen NOT as a UK para). More recently, I made a brave stand against American oppression of its very young and very much weaker neighbour, Mexico. I did everything I possibly could to aid them against the political and military takeover they were being over run with. I did my best but unfortunately… I failed to prevent the takeover of a couple crucial regions.

As you can see, I have been a very busy man. I have been involved in almost every conceivable task that a citizen can do in eRepublik. I have gained a lot of experience in the United Kingdom. Experience I fully intend on bringing to Australia. Experience that I will use, along with that of my learned colleagues, to develop our nation into a safer, more secure and economically prosperous nation. That is my pledge to you.
