[Congress] End of term report.
Tim Veltkamp
So here we are at the end of the December Congress term for 2018.
This will be a general summary if you wish to have a closer look yourself feel free to do so here.
Quick note, the percentages have been adjusted for the forum to not include any blacklisted individuals or Congress members that do not have a forum account. I have also added increase and decrease arrows compared to the previous month (which may or may not stick around).
Participation in votes have been pretty average, with the forum votes having 74% and in-game votes having 76.2%.
Specifically for the forum there have been numerous debates which have resulted in 6 votes that they have voted on. With the highest turnout reaching 90.5% and the lowest being 47.6%.
It should be noted, vote 6 was performed in-game.
In total there were 4 Congress members that reached 100% in their participation. With 2 Congress members being under 25%.
Overall party activity:
ReL: 76.7%
DemNL: 77.8%
VN: 83.3%
I&W: 86.7%
GPN: 16.7%
Now onto in-game votes. Obviously there is less info for these since only the individual members know what they have voted on and for/against.
There have been a total of 15 votes in-game, resulting in 90.5% for the highest turnout and 60% for the lowest.
Since it is December, a decrease in overall activity was to be expected. Which means there should be plenty of increase arrows in January. So have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Nice overview again. Shame you left the 0.0 from vote 7 onward in the 2nd graph.
Strange patterns on vote 3 and 6 when it comes to CM voting. Vote 6 apparently is 4/5 I&W CM boycotting the much welcomed in-game voting but I wonder what was wrong with vote 3?
Vote 3 was German Training War combined with helping our allies Estonia to go through German territory. I expected it to pass, so as Party President, I did not ask my Congress members to go onto Forum and vote (as I usually do during each voting), especially given the fact they all happen to be D1 non-BH hunters, who might not really be strongly opinionated on the TW subject either way.
Plus, the mood was quite low, since day before, the "Law Book Reform" amendment to Constitution did not pass even with 73,5% majority of YES votes, so no wonder people needed a break from Forum 🙁 .
That might explain indeed but should be no reason IMO. If I knew the vote was there I could have urged players to vote but should also not be needed. I think the below explanation of Tim however likely was the reason. For both VN CM that is indeed a busy day...
Well, can't comment on Dutch RL traditions, as in Czech Republic, St. Nicholas is celebrated, but not on such a big scale. Christmas period is certainly more busier than that.
The 0.0 (or rather the formula) is just for convenience sake. As for vote 3, which I think coincided with in-game vote 6, it was on the 5th of December, which may explain the inactivity.
If you make the formula a bit smarter, referring to a field that indicates a vote was actually there or not, that could be solved.
5th of December could indeed explain vote 3.
Was checking something and in doing so did a closer look on the in/decrease arrows. I do like them very much as they give you a very quick indication of hoe things went. However you might want to tweak those a bit when it comes to colors. Now decrease is always red while increase is always green. People tend to see red as bad and green as good which is why it works sowellto use colors. However the way they are used means good developments can also be red which gives a bad ‘at a glance’ perception. For instance the lowest voting percentage was 47.6 with a red down pointing indicator. I presume the percentage indeed went down. That is however a positive result so you might want to make the indicator green.
Same goes for the 2 CM reaching participating percentages below 25%. Presumably went down, so a green indicator makes more sence.
I see what you're saying but the 47.6 went down from 76.2 which is not an increase or a positive thing.
The 2 CM participation however indeed increased but in a negative way (from 1), I could change this arrow to increase but still being red as this is a negative.
It is something to fix for next month, could even just write the previous number next to it for a better comparison though that might clutter the article more.
Ah yes, my bad. Not sure what I was thinking. Maybe just the hangover...
Adding an extra number might indeed be to much. Always difficult to put allot of information in a short piece of text.
Also a potential future matter to think about if you're at it: If we go to 30 or 10 elected CM a percentage works fine. Absolute numbers however don't mean much any-more at that point. On the other hand some people tend to have difficulties with something like 15% of our CM's reached a 100% voting percentage.
Thanks for the info. Wait- Minister of Trout???!!! Hmm, didn't know I had a personal one. 😃
