[Congress] Congress member activity sheet (October 2018)
Tim Veltkamp
Good Day eNetherlands!
Many years ago there was an activity sheet for Congress done by Broersje. Since being appointed Deputy Chairman of Congress, I have decided to pick it up again and will keep doing it regardless of being D/CoC for the next foreseeable future.
This sheet will outline individual activity and the activity per party. Hopefully this will give the people not engaged in politics and/or the forum a look into Congress activity (for October anyway).
The link for the updated Google Document can be found here.
To explain:
- 1 means that the Congress member has voted in that vote.
- The red background means they have not.
- The * means that the person has voted but the vote was too late and not counted.
The percentage colours indicate the overall presence in votes, with red less than 25% being limited/no activity, orange more than 25% and less than 75% being subpar activity and green greater than 75% perfect activity.
This is by no means perfect and if you have suggestions or general comments let me know!

I like it, very confrontational 😃
Nice overview!
It used to be published not long before the congress elections, as an overview of the term. Will you publish a similar article again at the start/middle of next week (congress elections are on Thursday)?
Also, even though it is not possible to see who has voted, the in-game votes might be interesting to mention as well. What were they about, how many people voted in those (taking into account that in-game the CP and blacklisted CMs can participate as well).
That is indeed something to consider and might be insightful, thanks!
I have added the suggestion to the gdoc, is this what you meant exactly?
Yes, this looks great. It's nice to have the in-game and forum activity percentages for all votes, as well as the overall average.
By the way: Alex the Best123 is not part of forum-congress due to him lacking a forum account, so that's why he didn't vote on-forum. If you want to leave him in the table it's probably best to add a clear annotation that he has no forum account... I would be tempted to add a line of text on his line in the table, but that might mess up some equations, so I'll leave it up to you how you want to deal with this... You might also want to remove him from the voting percentages (he is also not counted for the quorum).
@Forum vote1 and vote4: I wouldn't mind the CP not participating in these votes. I actually would prefer it. Imho it would have been best if he had voted neutral or not at all in vote 1. A red square (because he didn't vote) in vote 4 seems a bit harsh.
I have updated it to mention that he has no forum account and removed him from the total percentage of the votes. However i'm thinking of leaving his activity for both individual and party totals up to show 0. Since it is up to him to be active in Congress. There is also the problem of sebastiaan who did not have a forum account at the start of the term but is in the group, there was no mention of when he was added so I would presume that it was before the first vote.
As for the CP votes in 1 and 4, I would also agree that maybe the CP should say out of these but that can be done by voting neutral, so at least the vote is counted for the quorum.
Yeah I will, this was more of a test the waters kinda thing. I'll do the complete overview at the end of the
Congress term, i'll publish all the information that is in the gdoc in the article so that people don't have to leave erep to see what's what.
Also, might as well mention it now. This isn't meant as a blame game to the inactive Congress members or anything, just a simple overview.
Good article - and good pick of dCoC from odan, if this is the result of this article existing 🙂 .
Also I hope my PP sees this sheet, since I claimed in front of him I participated in all votings 😃 .
i know how to pick the best 😉
Credit where credit's due - the choice was certainly good 🙂 .
Even more reason for me opening my last debate over how to include the Congress Members outside the forumgame into our democracy! Nice work.
True.. It says something when several members on that list with low Forum 'activity' do log-in at least one a day (like eRepTrader, Alexthebest etc) are not represented. Alexthebest does not even have a forum account so of course he has a participation rate of 0% on the forum (while on in-game votes it might be 100😵.
Exactly. We need to fix that in our community!
if you compare the numbers to in-game votes the average isn't that far off.
Yeah, it is pretty close overall. Updated the sheet to show the in game votes too now.
It'd also be interesting to see the actual content of all these votes: Who votes for and against certain proposals? I think that will give people an even better look into where the parties stand!
I applaud your input, I always loved these articles in the past.
I have indeed been absent due to some issues that lasted longer than I thought. Just before your article I visited forum again, voting 3 times of which one apparently was late. The other 2 left out of the report as the were open for a few hours more. TBH it looked like the vote I was late on was prolonged as it was still open long overdue...
I hope to be more present again when it comes to voting and most of all hope we finally get rid of the need to visit forum as it's an extra, unneeded, step for the democratic process. can easily be done ingame in a PM chat to all CM. Start like we always do on forum and let all CM respond like they always do on forum...
The other 2 votes are added on the sheet now that they are closed, which indeed have your presence showing.

No that's alright, thanks though!
