I support the impeachment - here are my contributions to the message so far.

Reasons for supporting the proposal.

"There have been resignations - and in some way that must come from dissatisfaction. I don't know to what extent and why - and that's what I hope will be revealed soon.

There seems to be a sizable amount of information on a potential alliance when the focus should be more on precise plans to help our deleterious position. We haven't had any MoD articles for 2 days now, and we have no direction on what countries we intend to deal with first.

I understand that not everything can be revealed and that we have to have some faith in the government that they are working on something - though our fighters don't know where they're meant to be fighting rn.

I also think the Bush-esque "Mission Accomplished" stuff really didn't help, it was counting our eggs before they hatched."

Here is something I added soon after - putting forward the case we should have bound them to a NAP as soon as we were unwiped.

Well maybe someone should add them to our wall but the answer is NO, and defending a CP as our party did vote for them but communication is not good but I know some of you might be working against the CP as they were not your number 1 choice cant you make Dave T Mod or Paul T ? I would have helped if asked as I have many friends as commanders in TOP MU across the world funny enough

Would I impeach the CP no as we have 10 days left and I think it just rotten to do so , will they be CP after the election I doubt it

Harry - your MU's commander Refurbisher is in the mass PM of MU commanders and he gets updated regularly. I don't know why he doesn't tell you the stuff we tell him.

Are you still interested in overthrowing the Dictator? 😃 I was talking about this subject with some people some time ago, they wanted the medals, asked them not to do it in the eUK, better to try somewhere else, but I am not so sure about that anymore 😃

In the interest of transparency, I should probably give my perspective.

As Dictator I have to button push etc for the government, and I really only ask two things - that with military issues, when possible, I am given some notice as to what might be going on so I can react appropriately and prepare for times when I might be expected to push buttons at short notice, and that if something is urgent, people contact me through my personal email (which I provide to all CP's) so I can recieve instructions instantly (waiting for me to check erep PM's can be slow if I am working or away etc). On both of these the gov has not been great for the past two months.

Paul has kindly emailed me 1/2 times to keep me aware of buttons etc, but there have been occasions where I have been told to launch NE's at short notice and no one has tried to contact me outside erep, fortunately I've logged in to see them quickly, but its inadequate nonetheless. With other law proposals I have found it difficult to get hold of someone that knows how to react to them. I think Rathena keeps everything to herself and doesn't delegate or communicate with Cabinet, as such very often people don't seem to know what is going on.

When France NE'd us yesterday, I logged in about 4 hours after it had happened - and couldn't find any instructions of what to do in response. Usually we would automatically launch an NE proposal in response, which is what I did. But usually I would have expected to have been contacted outside of erep to do this sooner (especially as we are fighting multiple people). And when RG did reply to my message asking about it, it was asking me why I had launched the NE rather than answering any questions about how to vote or what our approach should be. As a Dictator, this makes it more difficult than usual to actually manage our ingame administration. All of this very often gives the unfortunate impression that nothing

is really going on.

You can start the impeachment procedure - that's all we've seen from some individuals over the course of these two months.

The truth is that I, and the rest of the cabinet, have busted our asses trying to get things in a better position.

The government is more active than it's ever been - to say fighters and MUs are not communicated regularly is an outright lie - we update them with orders and events as they unfold.

To say that we haven't worked hard over the last two months on practically every issue is an outright lie.

What is a fact is that things cannot be achieved over the course of a few hours. I am not the type of person who wants to have a good time whilst achieving nothing. I want a long term solution and if it takes the government a while to come up with one then so be it.

Have we achieved everything we wanted? No. Have there been mistakes? Of course. Am I completely satisfied? No.

But this government has been better than the last government and the government before it etc. because we have brought people together, into the deciding process, asked for every opinion and were active.

CC - You are an experienced player. You know that plans take a while to master. We cannot be having a plan that says 'lets RW everything' like some people have suggested - that won't work and we know why - Asterian countries have money, strength and damage. The sooner we understand that we're weak at this point in time the better.
What we need is a total rethink of our foreign policy which is what I've been trying to achieve. Bringing the government down will not do anything. It will merely cause instability and dysfunctionality.

Surely it is irrelevant what previous CPs did or did not. Its a different congress now and just because a congress in january didn't impeach doesn't mean this one shouldn't

We have no congress.

Speaker has to be a congressman, so any vote called by someone pretending to be speaker is invalid.

Cheetah Curtis isn't a congressman so can't call for an impeachment, even if he proposed it while still a congressman there is no one to vote on it to pass.

But your point is a valid one; the legitimacy of this particular group of congress members to impeach a CP when they won't be congress members during the voting is doubtful.

What we need to do as a country is work out for good what we want to do when we lose congress, along the lines of the 4 options I outlined above.

If congress votes to impeach Rathena I will chat to Woldy and most likely the result would have to be suspended until a decision is made.

Ok. I didn't resign. But I was bloody close. I stayed because I wanted to hope and believe in this administration.
Good things have happened over the time and I am a cabinet member and I'm chilling and I'd like to remain that way but I have to give my honest experience.

It has been made aware multiple times to rathena that the Ministry of Foewign Affairs is significantly ill informed. I am constantly working with outdated or false information when messaging allies because talks have taken place with only rathena present and she has not informed us. I find out the really important details the same time as congress and the rest of cabinet. I'm not complaining much. They should leave the nations foreign affairs. But in conjunction with their appointed MoFA who act as an extension of the executive and by extension a representative of the cp and nation. I have informed rathena of our Mis information multiple times to which we were promised more enlightenment which we haven't received.

I will still stand by and support rathena if the impeachment is unsuccessful, if she will have me as I still wish to believe in a more prosperous future in which we can free ourselves

I am looking at the eRepublik Wiki, I can't find what you people represent, what part of the game mechanics 😛 If you even vote yes for impeachment of Rathena, something that I would support in normal circumstances, I encourage Rathena to ignore that. Also, for the first thing, option 2, in hope my PP will select me and I will massively spam you 😛

It doesn't really matter whether Rathena ignores the impeachment, it only matters what Woldy does.

Procedural questions:

What to do without an in-game congress - number of congressmen per party should stay the same seems to be the only fair way. Whether the PP gets to reshuffle or we keep the same people as the previous month doesn't really matter, although a reshuffle might be better as otherwise a long wipe could cause problems with congressmen going inactive, changing CS, etc...

CP impeachment - unless there's been some legislation on it, CP impeachment should default to being the same process as if there was no dictator, i.e. the runner-up in the most recent CP election gets the job. If you're impeaching a bad CP why would you trust their chosen vCP to run the country?

Should the CP be impeached question:

Don't know, don't have much information about what she's actually doing, which may in itself be a bad thing, but I don't know if it's enough to impeach for. Presumably her cabinet knows what she's doing, so it would be good to get their perspective - if they're as clueless about what's going on as the rest of us I'd say we need a new CP, as you can't really use the "sensitive discussions are going on behind the scenes" as a reason for keeping your own ministers in the dark...

Regardless of the validity of any Congress vote, I urge anyone with any sense to vote against impeachment. If lack of communication were a reason, then any number of CPs in the past year should have been impeached.

Option 4. No Congress.

Option 4 - The ONLY sensible option

On the impeachment I seem to remember that a dictator can't impeach a CP, am I right?

"No" to impeachment - the government hasn't been bad enough to warrant the ultimate sanction (especially when compared to a string of previous govs).

Option 1 on the What To Do With Congress thing, as long as it goes to a referendum to give everyone the right to decide.

To be clear, in the event of an impeachment the constitution stipulates that I, as Dictator, would take over as caretaker CP. In this scenario I would willingly do that in strong collaboration with the CP elections runner up, in this case Sambo.

There is a reason we have a vCP - so that person will take over in the case of the CP being impeached, coming down with the 'flu or getting hit by a bus. The person who got second place in the election is just that: second place in the election, no formal responsibility and should not be put in as CP where we lose the one we elected.

And yes, I'd say that even if the vCP were one of our trolls. Because we cannot and should not change the rules just because of personalities.

Now, as a Minister, I've been kept well informed by Rathena, who has been very forthcoming with what she wants to see happen (this is the first time in many Ministries I've had a CP actually lead the Cabinet) and helping with provision of information needed to enhance the job. I give her full marks for all she's done, and yes, we can't reorder the world in five minutes, particularly when we're nothing but a tasty morsel for most of the world.
