New Debates

Amendment to the Congressional Procedure Act.
Proposed by: dougal4chaos

Dougal has not provided the specific wording or placement of his amendment, but his intention is to have votes conducted on public issues be held by members filling out a gdoc form, rather than voting in comments. Results from these votes would then only be released on the conclusion of voting.

Amendment to the Woldy’s Angels Act:
Proposed By: Boaty McBoatface

“This amendment will raise the threshold at which the act kicks into force; this is a procedural change brought on by the enactment of the Defence Act. This amendment adds a clause to ensure that Congress will not send cash for safekeeping if it means that Congress will not have enough reserves to meet its statutory obligation to provide the NMU with funding.

The amendment states that if the next instance of reserving funding for the NMU would take the CA down below 200,000cc then the act’s process will not fire. The 200,000 figure is to ensure that Congress has a reserve for signing MPPs and any emergencies.”

Both of these motions will go to a vote at 9pm BST on the 22nd of April

Other News

The Country President has appointed Rory Winterbourne as the acting commander of the British Armed Forces. Rory will hold this position for 28 days before a full command staff is selected. As Commander, he will be eligible to become commander in this process, along with all of the units regiment captains.

The Defence Act provided for 250,000cc of funding to be reserved for the Armed Forces each month. This money can only be spent on specific projects approved by the Congressional Defence and Foreign Affairs committee and the MoD.

As there are nine days of April remaining (30% of the month), 30% of the 250,000cc will be reserved for the use of the unit through the remainder of April. This is 75,000cc. This will be transferred to the Speaker of the House org where it will be held until funding is approved. I will then send relevant money to the Commander of the Armed Forces.
