[CoI] Updates and Changes

Day 2,285, 11:31 Published in Serbia Canada by Goran Thrax

Updates!

There have been a few changes that I should ensure everyone is aware of.

We no longer have a contest on Tuesdays, we moved it to Mondays. So the kills each member achieves on Mondays, and Fridays of each week get counted.

We have been growing. A few other MUs, including The Crimson Order shut their doors in the last few months. This has meant more members for us, and the other large MUs. CAF coincidentally has one again surpassed CoI in size, so I congratulate our friends in the CAF for coping so well with the dramatic influx of members!

This growth has had one unfortunate side effect, we have run out of room in the slave pits. Consequently I, and the other members of the leadership team have been working to expand our number of pits. The next time there is a sale on Company Ugrades we can open a new pit to be run by Sally Willis, our Monday Fight Nights coordinator. We have also asked our original commander and returned member Addy Lawrence to open one of his companies as a slave pit.

Unfortunately this expansion will be short lived, as kiisupai one of our longest running slave pits will have to close it's doors by the end of April. Real Life takes precedence over eRepublik. I would like to thank kiisupai publicly for all of the tireless service this past year and kiisupai, I wish you well in your RL endeavors as you step back from your active role in CoI. 🙂

If you have a Q6 weapons company, and would be interested in operating a slave pit in the future, please contact me. It is more work than just playing, and I'd be happy to provide more details to interested parties.

Slave Pit Changes!

As most of the workers in our slave pits already know, we moved our pits from eTurkey to eSerbia yesterday. This of course disrupted production and meant many workers were shuffled between pits when new job postings were made available in eSerbia. The move was made for two main reasons.

1. eTurkey, while they have been a very welcoming community, has chosen to join the Sirius Alliance which is currently occupying our homeland. We didn't feel paying tax money into the coffers of Sirius, however vicariously as a great way to help eCanada. eSerbia meanwhile is a linchpin member of Asteria, the alliance with whom eCanada has grown close, they have also helped eCanada in it's attempts to resist occupation by members of Sirius.

2. eTurkey has lost it's bonuses. Perhaps it's temporary, but eTurkey has had this trouble before and it makes it difficult to keep our members supplied with all the weapons and such at consistent levels. eSerbia has very stable bonuses and a community that is quite committed to keeping them. Being the 1st ranked nation in eRepublik does have that effect. eSerbia also has a lower tax rate which helps keep our costs low.

This move does require one small change. As current slave pit workers will already notice, we are paying our slave pit workers a much higher wage in cash than we have before. The minimum wage in eSerbia is 8 cc so we can't pay less than that. If we don't make a change to supply levels to compensate, then CoI will start burning through it's cash reserves very quickly. So Effective Immediately we are reducing the number of Q6 weapons earned by Slave Pit workers by 1. So instead of receiving 10 Q6 weapons you would get 9, or 6 instead of 7. The food portion of pay given to low leveled slave pit workers, won't change. The weapon that CoI will hold back, will be sold to pay off the new higher wage. Thus, wages aren't in effect changing, slave pit workers will still earn over 60 cc a day in cash and supplies, just more of it will now be in cash.

The other update to slave pit supply levels is of course, to the level cap where we switch over from supplying 6 Q6 weapons and 65 Q5 food, to 9 Q6 weapons. As the Admins just changed the levels at which players change division, we too will change the level cap at which we transition supplies. This food was always intended to help newer players who do not make enough food for themselves with their own companies, this won't change, we will continue providing food to low leveled members.

Previously the transition was at level 37, which was when a player moved from Division 3 into Division 4. We cannot move the transition to level 70, when a player now transitions into Division 4, we simply can't make that much food. So Effective day 2,300 the new transition level will be level 35. That's two weeks away, and if anyone needs some help, or guidance on how to build some infrastructure to feed themselves, please contact your slave pit manager or klop123, our new member welcoming guru! 🙂

I know these changes seem sudden, but we are doing our best to phase in these transitions as gently as possible. If you have any questions or concerns please post them in the comments below.
