WHAT IS THIS WEBSITE?



Seriously, what is it? I used to know. And, judging by the Word document I’m typing in now, titled “erep,” I must have spent a good deal of time on it (it has 205 pages of text).


I’m looking at the site as I write and it looks vaguely recognizable. There are gold and dollar sign symbols at the top with pathetically low numbers next to them…that impoverished state has a familiar feeling.

And there are trophies. I scrolled over one of them and it says “Congress Member.”

Congress member?

Did I involve myself in something enough to get elected by peers? That doesn’t seem likely. I mean, I have priorities in life. I have hobbies, friends, and other stuff I won’t talk about; so how the hell did I have time to be a “Congress Member” on a website that appears to be pretty sparse in terms of political responsibilities.

I also see Friends (1029). Like…one thousand twenty nine??? Did I even click a link enough times to accumulate that number? I feel like that’s pathetic.


Lastly, I’m struck by the line that notes, “National Rank: 1384.” I don’t really know how many people play this game, but that definitely seems high. There are only just upwards of 1,300 people that have spent more time on this than I did?




I don’t know man. I guess what I’m saying is, why would I ever do this, both in the past and in the future? In fact, why the hell am I writing about this in the first place?

PLEASE. Someone. ANYONE. Explain all of this to me. I expect some answers, after all, I appear to have “1060 Subscribers.”
