[CFT] Issue 3, Day 1498 ~~ Congress Developments and Elections

Day 1,498, 11:05 Published in Canada Canada by Luke Peters

The Canadian Financial Times is returning today, Day 1498 with this, our third issue. In this issue, we will look at the latest developments from Parliament Hill and a look back at the Congressional Elections that took place on Sunday.

Firstly, we are going to go up to Parliament Hill where President Addy Lawrence has made an announcement stating that from the start of business yesterday, December 26th, he would no longer be holding any sensitive discussions behind the Closed Doors of the Canadian Congress; instead, he will hold these discussions using the private means of communication available to him and selected, trusted members of the congress and his executive branch of the government.

This plan has met mixed reactions with some welcoming the move saying that it may reduce the leaks of sensitive information to the media. Others have condemned it saying that it could lead to some of the more experienced members of our congress being excluded from discussions due to personal vendettas and simple dislike on the part of the President.

Only time will tell as to how this is going to pan out in the future.

Moving onto the recent congressional elections; we saw 659 eCanadian citizens turn out to vote on Sunday. Across the 19 regions of eCanada, Rolo Tahmasee, received the most votes with 56 votes to his name, this accounts for 8.5% of the votes cast through eCanada.

Of the 44 seats that were elected on Sunday, 42 members of the new congress have remained aligned with one of the five primary parties of eCanada.

The results at the close of the election were as follows:

1st - Canadian Paradox Party - 13 seats (inc. 1 wildcard)
1st - Military Dictatorship Party - 13 seats (inc. 1 wildcard)
3rd - EPIC - 9 seats (inc. 1 wildcard)
4th - Norsefire 2.0 - 5 seats (inc. 1 wildcard)
5th - Norsefire Party of Canada - 4 seats

Since the results were announced, the make up of Congress has changed greatly with the Crimson Party taking over 4th position in terms of the number of seats in the house. An updated plan can be viewed below.
