[CDV] April 2010 Presidential Platform

Day 865, 03:40 Published in Malaysia New Zealand by Carr De Vaux

Hi eMalaysia,

Things look pretty dead around here for the past few days - it doesn't feel like an election at all! From my side, i apologize for the the delay in releasing further details on my presidential platform. I was sick in RL - and that took time off me. Anyway, some further thoughts on what we will do in the next 30 days and why I would be a good candidate for eMalaysia in April 2010.

Domestic Issues
This biggest domestic issue for eMalaysia is undoubtly the low population, retention rate and consequently the threat of political takeover (PTO). My personal opinion is - this is a game, and many people play the game differently (through multies, through intelligence, through strategy etc). As such, I intend to take a slightly different stance towards on ever-pressing domestic issue. If elected, i will:

a. Press for baby booms via invasion of RL malaysian forums/facebook groups. Few target groups have been identified. I am currently looking for patriots to join me in the effort to recruits more babies for eMalaysia. Please PM me if you are keen. Check here for some examples of top malaysians forum. if requires, i will even invade rabidly nationalist forums like mykmu.net...

b. Further progress on our forum-based education, which admittedly have been stagnant because of my RL commitments and the anticipation of changes in v2.

c. Social Office is a great concept that requires huge manpower. I hope we can continuously find reliable and active people to fill the ranks in the Social Office. In coming weeks, i will be headhunting active people to join my government - in particularly as Social Officers.

d. Thirdly and most controversially, i intend to appoint a Serbia-affair presidential liason that will officially start the dialogue between eMalaysia and the eSerbian group. Tentatively, it may lead to formal recognition of the eSerbian party (with conditions). Like it or not, they have more than 40 legit citizens in the country now, and as some alleged many more zombie voters. Where would this lead to? I personally do not know - but it will be a step forward i hope. Conditions for them include:1) allegiance to the defence of eMalaysia (by fighting for us) 2) stop spreading lies in the media; 3) citizenship passes via the Minister of Immigration. I know this will be controversial, and it requires more discourse within eMalaysia community in coming days.

Peace?

Military and Retention
What i previously envisioned for TDM would be ideal (small squadron led by very active people). Some active TDM members are already members of the SolDier (Sol military wing). Locally, two existing military squadron (Paskal and Tuah) will be officially given funding (to be debated in coming weeks). Provided strong leadership is available, military squad will be given funding up to 50Q1 guns for actual and training battles. It's up to the squadron leaders to 'reward' its members.

But in case i can't find active people to lead TDM, the second best outcome is to have active military orders and start to register people interest to be any of the v2 squadrons. We need to start thinkin how many infantry etc we should have - and started encouraging the population to make these hard decisions (before v2 is here). I believe this will be amongst the first programme in the eWorld (to allocate type of military to the army). I believe the military will play a huge play in players retention.

Should we have tanks or helicopters or just infantry?

Economy
Prudence government fiscal/economy - and donation drive - to increase Gold reserve is the objective of the month. My aims is to restore our Gold reserve to approximately 1500G without significant tax increase. Our tax structure is already one of the most progressive and advanced (not to mention low) in eWorld. I don't imagine any changes there. So, the increase in reserves have to be via savings and smart govt decisions. we are not going to tank unncessarily or commit ourselves to unnecesary spendings.

Foreign Affairs
I have stated that i intend to forge strong regional diplomacy - make allies, friends and respect, not enemies. I believe regional peace and security would come from good relationship with our neighbouring nations (eThai, ePhil, eSingapore and eIndonesia) and regional friends (eChina, eIndia, eJapan and eAustralia (and to some extend eSouth Africa)). It does bring us back to the original concept of Sol. Sol - itself i believe did not fully recover from the Albert's chairmanship and eAustralia withdrawal. How can we move forward in terms of regional alliance? I hope in the next 30 days, with strong individuals/key diplomacy members, eMalaysia can convince Sol to consider some options in moving forward. This may include forging closer DEFENSIVE alliances with some bigger nations that are Sol-friendly. I am also optimistic that we can make further inroad in terms of diplomacy with our eIndo neighbour.

Closing remarks - vote for CDV
Well, to be honest - ww88 (my FUP opponent) is a strong candidate, and in fact, i would strongly support his government if i lost the election. I do believe that I am bringing more to the table compared to the other candidates in terms of dedications, game understanding, foreign affairs and so forth. But no government is one man show. I plea to all the experienced and long time citizens of eMalaysia to work with me...

Lastly, all comments, criticisms are welcomed. My presidential platform is opened for discussion and amendments! 😃

Hail eMalaysia!

Carr de Vaux
