[BOK] An(other) end of an era.

[ “Another end of an era.” No, don’t worry, I won’t stop playing the game. That is not possible. Ask AndreasIsaksson. ]

Dear fellow citizens,

I hereby announce my resignation as Party President of YOUR Party and the end of my membership of the party.

Resigning as Party President.
After renaming the BP into YOUR Party, we had a quite successful start (stabilizing the ever decreasing number of members). I published quite a lot of articles a while ago, resulting in gaining some new members, but after that I have been unable to promote the party as I would like. This resulted in a decline of members and eventually in falling out of the top-5. The WP has had much success in positioning itself in the political spectrum, something I could not achieve with YOUR Party. Therefore, I think it’s time to step up and leave the party into the hands of a new Party President.

The timing (just before the Party President elections) is no coincidence. I do not want to leave the party without a captain, so all interested can immediately run for PP and lead the party. Although there were no candidates last period, my resignation could live up the next PP elections.

To be clear: I absolutely do not officially end the existence of YOUR Party. As there are still 20 members, it is not up to me to say such things.

Leaving the party
My failure to be active for the party (yes, you can call it that way), did not lead to me being inactive in UNL politics on the forum. However, I have the feeling I am doing this more out of personal initiative than out of the initiative of our party, as I didn't internally debate much of my statements within the party.

Also, I have experienced the feeling of being a “neutral” politician; first as ‘independent’ MoF in January government, being Government Advisor for 3 or 4 mandates now, and being Chairman of Congress for my second mandate.

In trying to act as neutral as possible, I will cut my connections to the party. This will also ensure that a new leader can follow his/her believes in all freedom.

The future
The timing of quitting the party isn’t exactly coincidental either. After Daniel Parker left LP, Myers11 leaving LP for GLD, WP coming into top-5 and our new system of government formation, I feel UNL politics will change one way or another (or maybe we are in the process of changing already).

As of now, I do not have any plans for the immediate future, although something could come up fast enough. Of course, I will stay – now even more neutral – Chairman of Congress and Government Advisor, and – more important – I’ll try to contribute to UNL through debates on the forum as much as possible.

What other challenges the future might hold, I will probably find out fast enough.

An end of an era…

… but maybe it’s more safe to say that it is the start of a new one.
