[Boh] The UK And The Fight For Freedom

Day 1,975, 16:39 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Bohemond4

Dear friends and readers

Today I will be examining the eFalklands War looking in particular at the handling of the war by the UK Government and the possible outcomes and the future of the UK in light of this war. There has been a lot of criticism levelled recently at our Prime Minister, Jimbojoy, and The Unity Party in general revolving mainly around the fact that we ended up being wiped, that our allies did not enter the war sooner and the conflict with Ireland. I shall address all these points in this article.

First of all, I would like to emphasise that this war is not yet over.

The Inevitable Wipe?

It was clear from the start of this war that a wipe was on the cards for the UK unless we completed a serious of goals that became harder and harder to achieve as the war progressed without us draining then treasury completely dry, something that would not have even guaranteed that we would not be wiped.

Argentina and Ireland were determined between them to end this war with the UK wiped, as this was a shooting war, we could only end with either a wipe or a humiliating peace treaty, neither of which was desirable.

There were three ways we could have avoided a wipe: 1) defeat the Argentinian Airstrike, something that we tried to do, but failed due to unfavourable time differences. 2) Regain initiative from Argentina, again, we tried this and we nearly succeeded just failing as Argentina was willing to pour more money, and had greater resources, to spend than we did. 3) Conquer Ireland in a delaying tactic. This required maintaining initiative and keeping a separate border between us and Argentina. The UK launched a successful counter-attack against Ireland sweeping in and conquering Wexford and Shannon as well as liberating Scotland and Northern Ireland and defending Wales. This strategy ultimately failed in the battle for Dublin and the loss of captured regions.

The government has been accused of not doing enough to prevent the wipe and while this may certainly have some truth to it, ultimately, everything possible based on the path we took was pursued in order to save the nation. The failure to prevent Argentina, twice, from overrunning our fair isle came down to how much each side was willing or able to pour into the battle, and how many allies moved over. With most of TWO asleep during the fight and Chinese and American forces helping Argentina we were literally unable to turn it around. The one time we nearly turned the battle around in the war was SEoE where we almost made it and had we done so and consequently thrown out Argentina the story would be very different.

Finally on the matter of Ireland, it was not worth crushing them only for Argentina to hold all our regions and chase us into Ireland itself. With Northern Ireland and Scotland under Irish control we can easily RW one free on congress time, had the wipe lasted longer, and then taken the war back into Ireland itself. If Argentina had controlled all our regions, this would not have been an option.

Our Allies: The Spanish Blunder, Imperial Issues and Poland to the Rescue

Spain came to our aid early on in the war with an airstrike…which was launched at the wrong target hitting the Argentinian core regions. This was a mistake, admittedly, on the part of Spain and was not expected by the government or Argentina who all though the strike would be in the East Midlands. Ultimately, this wasted our allied support and left us slightly out in the cold due to the issues facing Serbia and Poland in Turkey and across their mutual empires.

Serbia and Poland had targeted Turkey with an eye to taking over the Turkish Gold Mine, for the simple fact that TWO needed another mine and they were easier to target with their own airstrike. This action, of course, meant that Poland needed to focus on the keeping of Turkish regions and could not risk losing Ankara while they fought Argentina. This is a necessary fact of life meaning we were unable to rely on their support initially, and for the majority of the war, in fact, they attacked Argentina before their gold mine finished, even though they waited for it to be nearly completed before attacking.

With regard to Serbia, they faced the usual bout of rebellion and conflict within their empire with Croatia winning free in one region, Bosnia gaining regions, France winning in Aquitaine and various rebellions with an entire war being fought with Albania. This negated the heavy assistance from Serbia that we normally would have some access to under normal circumstances.

To sum up, the international situation for TWO was one where we could not rely on wider TWO support due to the wider regional and extra-regional conflicts currently being waged.

Ireland, our little Bros

Ireland are our closest neighbours who we have conquered, been conquered by, we PTO’d them and generally we fall out and have a bit of a squabble every few months. This latest war is along the lines of this, yet comes after almost a year of peace where a mutual respect began to be built up between the two nations.

This war came at a time where Ireland has to prove their loyalty to a non-alliance relying on nationalism, in the form of a ‘United Ireland’ alongside Argentina’s attack to win the war. What this, ultimately, means for Ireland is that we are coming for you. This entire situation was fabricated by one man, MUFC, the Irish CP. We have not forgotten about you and your attack against us so soon after peace was once again signed following our TW last month. MUFC, you are not the most successful CP and you won’t keep Northern Ireland. It’s ours.
