Greetings friends and readers, and welcome to my Second Congressional Update

First of all, I would like to take the time to congratulate Blue and Evil on his successful election to the Presidency.

First up we have some legislative business to deal with.

Natural Enemy Proposal
BigAnt proposed France as our Natural Enemy just after Blue and Evil was elected. I voted against this ill thought out and ill advised war, especially where France was not interested in a TW. I opposed this ill-thought out proposal.
This was rejecte😛 20 in favour, 19 against. 39 votes cast

New Citizen Message
Blue and Evil proposed this new message due to the fact that we had some issues over the handover of the NHS document and we needed a new link. I voted in favour of this.
Passe😛 32:4 - 38 votes cast

VAT and Imports: Weapons
This was the result of a discussion on taxes including a sponsorship by Iain Keers to cover any lost revenue. I voted in favour of this law.
New tax: 5%
Import Tax: 10%
Approve😛 24:12. Total of 36 votes cast

Minimum Wage
Gareth.4686 proposed increasing the minimum wage from 0.5 GBP to o.75 GBP. I opposed this change due to the harm it would have on commune workers
Rejecte😛 11:27 total of 38 votes cast

Income Tax Change
Sir Rex Fleddington proposed an increase from 5% to 11%. I opposed this to the fact that we have made a profit recently through income taxes and this increase is therefore not needed at this point in time.
Rejecte😛 7:31, total of 38 votes cast

Natural Enemy
Talon Karrde proposed Ireland as our Natural Enemy due to the TW. I opposed this bill due to I felt we should reserve our NE in case of another foe.
Passe😛 29:7 A total of 36 votes cast

So far voting has remained high, indicating that Congress is active in pushing buttons.

Woldy has embarked on providing Congress with jobs, which means for the Ministers they have to start planning best how to utilise these extra hands they have. Should be an interesting week or so as we start to get used to the new idea! I will keep you updated.

Cheers
