[Beaver4CP] My goals, part 4. Finances & Law Reforms [Warning: BORING]

Day 1,990, 10:46 Published in Belgium Belgium by Beaverss Tribute to Raskol

Economics, boring. Economy, boring too. Economical matters, lot more boring.
And unfortunately, eRepublik’s Economy is over & over again more boring.

But it’s necessary to try to have a good national economy to guarantee a good progression to our players. To act on a unstable & perverted system like Erepublik economy & make wise decisions, my Government will have to study it and to make tests, with the authorization of Congress.

I think that eBelgium should become a competitive weapons market and it’s possible to make that happen if we find the ideal tax rates. Buyers should find weapons near the price it would cost them to move and buy at maximum. Considering that most weapons are currently being bought abroad or on the black market by highly active citizens, it is more important to find a way to bring this trade to our own market by being able to weigh on the price difference with foreign markets. From experience, citizens will start looking for cheaper weapons elsewhere when the price difference reaches about 0.50 cc per weapon. The current VAT and Import tax rates are too high to encourage sales to take place in eBelgium. (Reference Cost in Poland for a Q7: 6.12 (before missions), Cost in eUK for a Q7: 6.50 (before missions) both countries operating with 1% VAT; for the same tank with 20% VAT in eBe the owner will need to ask 7.27 cc or 7.72 cc).

We should strive towards a price of maximum 6.80 to 7 cc for a Q7 weapon. For an eBelgian this can be achieved with about 10% tax rate, a foreign player will add import taxes of about 10% and be at about the same income as he would have in his own country while selling around 7 cc to 7.20 cc. Numbers can be discussed and evaluated. Tax rates are the main influence on price setting in the market with only very little effect on state income. In this way, we could make profit helped by strangers in place of being the victims on the liberal eEconomy.

We should also increase our income in using the monetary market. A profit from 5 to 10% is expected in BEF. In eUK or eFrance, it’s the primary sort of income. Why should we take away this wide source of profits for the State?

I am also in favour of making a list of employers & their offers. Lots of them prefer paying people more food or weapons (a part of the production) in place of BEF, which is more interesting for the eBelgian economy and for the individuals. The government should create & manage an updated list of offers in an in game article.

I’m also in favour of the granting of more State loans to fund projects with a social added value for the eBelgian population, following the MoF Department advice. Helping the young players is also one of my priorities. My government will promote the use of a significant budget to help players to upgrade their training centers. I will also evaluate how to reactivate the Boost Your Strength programs.

Regarding the law reforms, the differences between the spirit of the game & the rules created on the forum created a gap between forum-addicts & other players. eBelgium doesn’t need lots of formal laws but social programs & efficience to make the game more fun & enjoyable.

Thanks for reading,
Beaver, CP candidate.
