{Aus DoFA} MPP with the Philippines

Day 3,034, 16:57 Published in Australia Australia by Australian Foreign Affairs

Hello eAustralia,

As previously mentioned in the recent CP article the DoFA has been hard at work looking at renewing MPPs and looking at new ones. On the advice of the DoF, we know our budget for MPPs is quite large and can easily be supported.

After the recent renewal with our long term friends the Netherlands. The DoFA has looked at making official our long term relations with an old friend the Philippines. After discussions with current government in the Philippines we have come to an agreement. So please continue to read, to find out more about this potential MPP.

Why Now?

eAustralia and ePhilippines have always shared a close friendship. However due to their region rent to eColumbia, eAustralia never had a MPP with them. During this friendship, one of the major MUs in the ePhilippines, Dream Team, always laid down damage for eAustralia when needed. As well the country's senior players helping out with diplomatic situations.

But now that deal is finished, ePhilippines is reaching out to their old friends and looking at strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation.

What are the Pros to this?

When looking at this law proposal, we can break it down into Pro's and Con's to it. Here are some of the Pro's:

- Strengthening of ties with our friends.
- Making it easier for each others citizens to help out in a time of need (no need for moving tickets).
- Adding the useage of another powerful MU, to assist eAustralia in any battles.
- Opening up avenues of closer co-operation on a range of other potential deals.
- Re-affirming an old friendship.
- Making our long time friendship official.

What are the Con's to this?

- Cost of 10,000cc for the MPP (DoF has assured we can easily afford this MPP cost)
- Conflict with other countries (ePhilippines currently has no direct enemies)
- Potential of being drawn into a regional conflict. (ePhilippines do not have anything major planned in operations)

Conclusion

The current government and also the DoFA would like to see this proposal pass once it is proposed to congress. As you can see from above, there is no real major issue or conflict with the MPP, instead it opens up and potential long term allied nation.

We here at the DoFA ask the citizens and congress members to feel free to ask any questions, to discuss this proposal. So far the discussion in congress, it is positive, but as this government is open and wants the input of all, the law will only be proposed 24hrs after this newspaper is published. And as always, if you have questions, please ask them.
