[Appleby/McKay] We've got a trident

Day 1,626, 08:32 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Sometimes all it takes is one brave man to pick up a trident, and then shit gets serious

Afternoon all!

Before I begin, I want to thank Every Single One, the People’s Communist Party, my own UK Reform and, of course, the National Rastafari Movement for their support. When I submitted my candidature I stressed I wanted a full, National Government where everybody, regardless of age or party, could get involved. I wanted a term where anybody who’s even vaguely interested in any part of this game can come forward and stand by their country, be it in the Foreign Office, Defence, Home Affairs, Finance or in the cabinet!

Today I open applications to work with me in our own government. Even if you don’t end up in the cabinet below, I’ll guarantee you a place with us where you can still make a difference. All of these Ministries will have a deputy position.

1x Minister of Finance (best job in the world, believe me)
1x Minister of Home Affairs
1x Minister of Defence
1x Minister of Foreign Affairs
1x Minister of Legislative Affairs
1x Cabinet Secretary (Chief of Staff)

The liberation of the UK is enormously dependent on the sufficiency of our domestics. That is why my proposed reforms outlined yesterday ties in hugely to the military side of pumping the UK into shape. Complacency about the condition of our armed forces alongside a vast lack of effort to get people into organised fighting groups has hampered our full potential. Whilst we’re still getting up to 200 new people a day, very few trickle onto IRC and onto strikes.

One of the first things I’d do is move ‘Call to Arms’ ingame (5 Q6 Tanks/day); where everyone can see it. People who need the weapons most generally don’t use the forums, so excluding them from our efforts is counterproductive. One way we can publicise this scheme for new people even further is by having tabs made (similar to the NHS & Grant ones) which we can all shove on our articles. This will be alongside the messaging campaigns outlined yesterday from the MoHA. More people ranking up, with a boost in national damage, can only be a good thing in the long term.

Another thing I’d like to see returned is the National Strike Service. Getting people on regularly at set times throughout the day, with pre-set Duty Officers personally responsible for supply and co-ordination. Even if people can’t use IRC, the Officer of the time will be listed on the MoD article for people to message in time if they want supplies. Furthermore, I want to see people rewarded for constantly turning up to strikes and supplying them. Service medals should be brought back with hard rewards (money, gold) to recognise the effort put in by people to kick out the French! Awards to Military Units themselves for the most damage, attendance and recruitment of new people should also be encouraged, helping us go that little bit further.

Our Command system needs a huge overhaul, with a shift in focus to bringing in elements from all over the country to co-ordinate a national response to foreign invasions rather than leaving the same few to handle it. #MoD will be invigorated as a war room that can be home to all MUs, in a UK-wide base of soldiers ready to take up the cause and batter the enemy’s wall. In addition, I will be putting greater emphasis on training up our next generation of commanders, with tutorages throughout the Ministry of Defence by both senior staff and myself personally.

Finally, whilst we should be doing everything we can to liberate the UK, we should also remember our allies and the integral part they’ve played in our battles previously. If elected, I will be setting up a rooster open to anyone from any MU who is free to join me in a special non-MU mobile corps with subsidised supplies for any strike across the globe. Your membership of the MU you’re in won’t be affected, and it’s a nice way of getting more Q6s and hanging out with the rest of us when killing Croats/Canadians 😛.

TL😉R:-

-More Ingame Call to Arms
-National Strikes & Awards
-Much greater focus on #MoD
-More tutoring and training for future commanders
-Bring back service medals and rewards
-Messaging campaigns to get new people into an organised fighting force
-Effort to set up a UK Mobile Corps to help our allies abroad.

Thanks for reading!
