Join the new world

The APP Party President election is now complete. It was a close run affair and I thank my opponents ronnyJnrJnr and antrak for their participation in a competitive race.

Thanks to all APP members who voted for me. It is a privilege to be selected as Party President and I am committed to delivering on my plans for this month. The results are also a reality check for me, winning the election by only a few votes despite being the only candidate openly campaigning. I get that, I’ve been gone a while and need to prove myself, while ronnyJnrJnr has been working hard for eAus for a long time. All I can do is work hard over the next month to prove myself.

It is a good sign that of all the top 6 parties APP had the highest voter turn-out in this election, with 64% of members voting as the below chart shows. Great to see a party full of active and engaged members.

First things first I would like to hear from members who would be interested in playing a role in the party. If you are interested in writing articles, organising for elections, recruitment, new player support, policy development or if you have any ideas for initiatives and policies the party may pursue I want to hear from you. Please PM me or post on the APP forum at www.auserepublik.com (request to join the APP membergroup if you can’t see the forum).

We’ll be competing in congress elections in 8 days. If you’re interested in joining the congress team please let me know. Even those who don’t win a seat can play an important role as advisors and support for those who do, it’s a great way to get involved and learn the ropes if you’re new to politics.

Thanks again for your support, I look forward to working with you over the next month to put APP front and centre of the battle for ideas in eAustralian politics.
