[APP] Australian Parliamentary Party - what we stand for

Day 2,025, 12:25 Published in Australia Australia by Paul J Keating

Firstly, the APP believes that eRepublik is a competitive game.
We are competing with nations with more players, more money, more damage and bigger alliances.
So for eAustralia to stand a chance we need to be smart.

The APP is dedicated to finding ways to make eAustralia punch above its weight.

This means:
1. Finding active, capable players to act as Ministers in a well-run government - this not only makes our country a 24/7 machine but gives our active citizens something to do.
2. Keeping the population educated and informed, directing damage, buying strategic wins and distributing weapons to citizens during wartime - generally being careful and thoughtful.
3. Recruiting like crazy and doing everything we can to retain players. The more players we have, the more damage we do
4. Protecting our borders - It's hard to recruit players in a wiped country, to grow our population we need to have regions. This is not just about having strong soldiers, it also requires smart diplomacy and a strategic, long-term view.
5. Regulating our elected officials - this means making sure we only give citizenship to trustworthy individuals, it means keeping track of our country's money and it means discussing the important issues in detail where citizens can see it, on the public forums
6. Saving up for the hard times - building a security fund to keep the country fighting even when we have no regions to tax, making sure that we're prepared to fight long guerrilla wars and being able to surprise our enemies with waves and waves of mercenaries

And inside the Party we believe in
1. Direct Democracy: Members vote and discuss everything we do
2. Good organisation: We have to be smart to win. That means not stepping on each others toes and always knowing what we're supposed to be doing
3. Working together: We never attack our own candidates, we don't fight with each other and we always strive to keep a cool-head, respect each other's opinions

This isn't a comprehensive summary of everything we do, just a few dot points to explain our worldview.

If you think Australia needs to be smart in order to be strong, you should consider joining the Australian Parliamentary Party.
