Day 595, 14:39 Published in USA USA by Pragmat

Greetings fellow eAmericans, today has been a pretty interesting day. I am attempting to learn all that I can about not only our political scene here in the US but also events taking place around the globe. As a result of this, I will cover some of the events taking place today. I understand that you can simply go to the original articles to read this news, I would just like to include my own perspective and summarize for readers.

FORTIS FOLLIES?

Yesterday saw the introduction of a new alliance as ProggyPop realeased an article unveiling Fortis to the general public.Fortis is a new alliance being proposed between the eUSA,UK,Ireland,Canada and Spain. However in an article released today, the UK Prime minister stated that while they had discussed joining the new alliance, their congress had voted against it not once but twice. This appears to be a major hiccup in the unveiling of this new alliance and we will have to continue watching for further news on the future of this alliance, let us hope that new president Harrison Richardson working with new Secretary of State Emerick can find a way to resolve this issue and save the eUSA embarrassment.

Richardson Announces Cabinet

Today, new freshman President Harrison Richardson revealed his White House cabinet Many were eager to see if HR would extend a hand to former opponent Emerick after a close presidential campaign. Much as Obama did in RL, Emerick was offered the position of Secretary of State in the Richardson administration, the position held by HR just a few days ago in the scrabman administration. One of HR's promises was a bipartisan cabinet that represented all citizens, in this he seems to have succeeded. Of the 31 cabinet positions, 8 were awarded to members of the USWP, 6 to the UIP, 4 to the AAP, 2 to the CvP and just 2 to the Libs. Three positions were awarded to non-affiliated citizens, most notably the naming of the popular Eugene Harlot as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. We will see how this new cabinet performs but it appears to indicate a wider level of delegation of tasks from the Oval Office, something that will allow the President to focus on those issues which are most important to the eUSA.

Proposal Updates

About an hour ago a proposal was accepted that will transfer $70,000 USD from the US accounts to the Fort Knox Federal Reserve, this will be done in the event that the Congressional Budget Office can not be accessed.

Voting continues on a proposal from the President of Greece to renew the MPP between Greece and the US, though it would appear that it will breeze through Congress.

On a lighter note, some may have noticed the change in my avatar, I don't have much to say about it, but I like Snoopy so there you go.
