** A Very Merry Holtean eBirfday: Girls n' Guitars **

Day 756, 16:09 Published in USA USA by Blue Holt

Woooooooooooooo!

So! I have officially traveled a full 365-day cycle here in eRepublik.
One full year of playing the same, silly ol’ game is something to be proud of!

Exactly this time last year, I was browsing around an internet gaming site, looking for something new… something fresh… something that amazed me in a way that no other free gaming experience COULD do.

(It was a slow semester.)

Tried the dungeon crawlers. Tried to manage my own string of cities. Heck, I even held my hand at WoW knock-offs.

BUT WAIT!

Here’s the twist!
Instead of talking out of my ass and reminiscing of things like an old WWII grandpa (Looking at you, WD), I think I should do something that I personally have never had the chance, or desire, to do before.

While I tell the summarized tale of Blue Holt’s eRep history, I shall present to you visuals of two of my most FAVORITE RL things in the entire Universe!

1.) Guitars
2.) Girls

Without further ado, and if my memory doesn’t break before my hip does, let us begin. 🙂

*ahem*

T’was this time last year that I was eBorn into this New World. I came in a kickin’ and a screamin’ and a shoutin’ for French Toast and monies. Of course, things were a bit hazy, but I began to make friends with some of the most legendary citizens that have ever graced this digital playground.

I was a simple minded n00b, growing up with an eager heart and a loud mouth that wouldn’t shut the hell up when I truly needed to (NeilP99 remembers). Damn it, though, I had the spunk! As soon as the New Year had arrived, I became somewhat interested in politics. After much searching around, trying to find my “first click”, the mystique and intrigue of a select few brought me to the eUnited States very own “Federalist Party”.

I tell ya! It was people much like Gaius Julius, Tiacha, Gilroy, Voltare and a few others I can’t recall that made me squiggle and squirm with glee to be even associated with. Even now, their voices and names echo through the halls of the NAU and beyond. Yet, my curiosity continued to push me to find other types of interest.

For you see, I had made friends with THE LEGEND himself! A man deemed Eugene Harlot. Boy howdy! What an honor it was indeed! In a moment’s notice, this Commandant at the time turned me from tiny mouse into a killing machine! I was a Marine, true and blue! But after a few weeks of running intensive missions, things were naught-to-be. Still, the experience set me up for what to expect in serving the eUS Military.

Then I became fully involved into the light of Politics. Party, that is. I met so many interesting people, from Joe Lansing to Darkflight, Fingerguns to Wingfield, CitizenSlave and (who can possibly forget?) Bill Brasky! Those were the glory days! We endured it all. This even included the prosecution of Scrabman’s Administration, which had both a direct and indirect effect on us all.

A hiatus was in order, you see. A full 21 days. ‘Caused me to lose sight of what the game was truly about. Of course, I still hadn’t fully realized WHAT the magic of the game was. So, I slinked away into the shadows and left the Federalists behind. They, like the Marines, had taught me many valuable lessons about many a thing and helped me mature just a tad bit more. However, news apparently had spread to a select ear or two about my deeds and services (which… wasn’t much, considering) inside the ranks of the eUS Army.

At the time, I had known a few people working at the grunt level in the Army. A few I can just barely remember… let me see… NASA…? No… I<3NY? …Bah! …AH! Yes! NXNW! I believe he was a Platoon Officer at that time, or something. “What a fine fellow” I thought, as he had suggested to me to join the Army. Of course, it seemed both absurd and a good idea, as I had tried my hand at the Military before, but I acted on it! I didn’t want to live as just some guy selling his body on the street corner for 1Gold a b.j.

Things kinda get a little fuzzy here again… but even more awesome people jumped into the picture awfully fast. Great soldiers like Tremaine, JasonTheGreat (It’s actually IN his name!), Ethan Strickland, Matt Kelley, and Aang Airbender (O7)! I was assigned, effective immediately, to a “premier” squad… the amazing 4th Division, 2nd Platoon! Things were starting to look up after that. ~

We went neck to neck with the PEACEniks. We gave them HELL! And you better believe we took from them EVERYTHING! Being pinned down by enemy fire, deploying to the most war-torn sectors of this New World, even trying to punch a wall with bare fists as 49 eUS States were ENGULFED by enemies surrounding us! It didn’t matter. The 4/2 stood strong and not ONCE kneeled to any one but the Man in charge. Geez… so many of my fellow soldiers… dying… right in front of me…

Yeah… milk was a bad choice, trying to drink the memories away. But I got over my sorrows! And I trudged on! And in, what seemed like no time at all, I was promoted from a mere Private to the 4/2’s CO practically overnight! And I made a name for my boys, modeled after the valor and courage that I have seen in so many fighting on the front lines for a better tomorrow…

“Vanguards”!

And then I married your grandma and here you are!

So to all my friends, to those in the Military, to those in Government, and those seeking to just make their own brand of impact on this little game we call “eLife” (and because there’s seriously waaay too many people to keep listing)…

Here’s to another fruitful year of playing! I’ve only just begun to know the true reason why so many have stayed strong and active on this site. It will always be about YOU, the one who is reading this right now, and our adventures together. And I say to you?

“Cheers”.

P.S. Oh. Did you know? I was once considered “p cool” by Emerick. True story.
