~A Look Back On The Uncle Sam Era~

Day 488, 19:37 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

Three weeks ago everybody seemed to love Uncle Sam, the U.S. was poised to invade Mexico and show the world that it was in fact a true global power. Now three weeks later Uncle Sam has been forced out of office after losing a costly war and is one of the most unpopular politicians in the country. One might ask themselves how did this happen? How did such a great first term lead to such a disastrous second?

It all started on the onset of the Mexican War, before that there had been fierce debate over taxes. Proponents of higher taxes were needed to fund wars while the opposition said the answer was cutting spending. Once the war broke out huge sums of gold had to be used to open the war and the battles. The first few regions were secured without a hitch and then in the next election Uncle Sam won by a landslide and could of quit while he was a head and held onto three Mexican regions. Unfortunately we wasted even more gold and pushed further south, activating MPPs along the way and eventually getting Portugal involved. Now Sam had been warned by multiple people about taking the southeast but never the less he pushed onward. Soon Portugal was able to come in and Mexico counter attacked with their MPPs. The U.S. lost all the regions it had conquered and a huge sum of gold.

Public opinion of Uncle Sam started to diminish here but it took a nose dive when Sam agreed to pay the fine to Atlantis nations for violating part of the contract. This may not of been such an issue had Spain and Romania of paid the fine and had Uncle Sam not of used taxpayer money to pay a fine which he earned himself. He could of easily said "hey were attacking in 48 hours there's your notice" but he didn't. Now we get to the truly ironic part, Joe DaSmoe soon resigned as VP and released some information about Uncle Sam funding tanks in Romania. This is the straw that broke the camels back for most and it led to Uncle Sam getting impeached for the third and final time. It appears that William Shaffer may of been the better VP pick for Sam after all as this turned out to be his downfall.

Now I can understand funding tanks and all but why spend 500 gold on three people in a battle that has little impact on Americans, especially after losing so much gold on a war in Mexico? Romania may share an alliance with us however I don't remember them sending tanks into Mexico when we were being pushed back. It was a dumb move that helped Romania out a lot no question, but did little to help the U.S. overall. The problem with tanking is its not an effective long term way to win wars and build an army. Newer citizens gain rank much quicker then veterans, if we were to just send in some marines, and give them guns to level up, we would have a much larger amount of people ranking up in a much quicker time without wasting hundreds of gold. Moving tickets would be more expensive but with 500 gold alone you could move about 1,000 marines back and forth between Romania.

Obviously there have been many failures and disappointments in Uncle Sam's second term however I don't believe impeachment was the best option as we are only two weeks away from the next presidential election and Uncle Sam is not entirely at fault. In terms of giving Uncle Sam a blank check congress needs to admit that they are partially at fault rather then lay all the blame on Sam. Its a shame to see a presidency go down like this, had he just of been more open to telling people what this money was being used for before he spent it and had he of listened closer to his advisers and his own VP this could of all been avoided.

Also I would like to announce that as of right now I do in fact plan on running for president in April. I was hoping to have Uncle Sam's endorsement this time around but I don't think it would be that helpful now. The North American University is also looking for new students, if you wish to learn more about the eworld then check it out.
