--A Future We Can Count On: Lowind for Arkansas--

Day 579, 21:13 Published in USA USA by Took Lowind

Note: This is a compilation of my last two campaign articles.

Introduction

As some of you might know, I have recently returned to eRepublik. My life was pretty busy and I did not have the time for it. Now, I have finally returned. I am the type of person that needs to be involved and I believe I am very effective when I am actually have been involved. Since my return, I joined up with the Libertarian party. I am personally am very excited about the parties future, and I believe I could be of help if I could represent it in Congress.

Qualifications

-4 Time Cabinet Member (Director of the Citizens Expansion Program)

I am very proud of my time as the Director of the CEP. The CEP is know a defunct program, but it essentially was responsible for welcoming citizens, educating new citizens, uniting mayors to help new citizens, getting needed goods to new citizens, and getting citizens a job (this was before a person could just join a company on their own) I take pride in the fact that my time spent here was helping the average e-American in anyway I could. I believe that my experience in this post would make me a great Senator. My job was all about helpfulness and accessibility. "I believe that I was very helpful and accessible. I promise that as a Senator, I will not ignore you. As your representative, your concerns are my concerns and I will do what ever is in my power to help you.

- 2 Time Congressman

I already have experience in Congress. Before V1, powers in Congress were more limited. But many of the same things Congress does today were done when I played the game. I already am an experienced legislator.

(Note:: I was a Congressman in beta, not in V1. Congress won't appear in my accomplishments. I don't want anyone to think I'm a liar.)

- Vice President of eRepublikans for Change (now the CvP)

My time as Vice President taught me some very important things. The 2 months I was president taught me a lot about hard work. Trying to assist in running the eRepublicans and running the Citizens Expansion Program was very hard work, but I learned that there isn't really such thing as too heavy of a workload in this game if you work as hard as you can at it. I spent many nights sending countless numbers of PMs to people trying to help them out in getting some food, or trying to help get the eRepublicans more organized. It showed me how much hard work you have to put in to this game to succeed.

-Journalism

At one point of time, I was a highly successful journalist in the e-United States having placed 20th on the most subscribed list. While, I do not think of myself as a great writer, I believe that this shows that at least some people cared about what I had to say. As a Senator, you have to make people care. I think that an important quality to have as a Senator is to make people care.

Important Qualities

-Activity

Even though I have just returned, I can say that I am a very active person when I am playing this game. I am always on IRC chat or on the Libertarian forums. I also spend a lot of time browsing the e-USA forums. So, if anyone ever needs me, I can respond almost immediately I am always willing to hear questions or comments, and I am easily approachable. I can assure you that if you elect me, you will not see very many people more active than me. Some of you might be thinking "What if he leaves again?" Trust me, I won't. I take all my commitments very seriously (even my online ones) and I would not be running for Senate if I knew that I could not be an active Senator.

-Transparency

If elected, some of my decisions may not always be popular, but they will always be known. I promise that as Senator, I will let all of my constituents know of my voting record. I will always be honest about my votes and will not be afraid to address any concerns that you may have about my overall voting record or a particular vote. I am a honest person and I'm always willing to inform people about my votes.

-Leadership

In my time on eRepublik, I have shown that I have the leadership ability to be a great Senator. I have led a very important government program, was a two-term Congressman, and was a party VP. I believe that I have the leadership ability to shine in Congress.

In short, I believe I have what it takes to make the United States Senate, but I'm going to need some help to get there. I can't accomplish anything without, you, the vote. Even if you don't want to vote for me (which I hope is not the case), I would like to humbly ask that you at least consider me for the US Senate seat. I never have let anyone down in the past on this game, I promise if I win, I won't in the future.

Platform

Taxes

This seems to be a popular topic to talk about amongst politicians. My view on taxes is that they should be held as low as they can, but there has to be enough to keep the government running properly. The tax levels of today seem like fair rates, so I am supporting keeping the tax rates the same as of now. If the government needs less money, than I will support a tax decrease. I support keeping a happy equilibrium.

Military

No one actually supports a weak military. Neither will I. I support a strong army, I believe in giving the soldiers what they need to battle. Supporting the troops is important; as a Senator, I will give them what they need. I also support war games, I find them a fun, non-threatening way to give our military some experience.

Foreign Policy

Foreign Policy is a thing in politics that I believe is very important. Imperialism is something that strongly dislike. I will support military action against any imperialistic country, and I strongly will disapprove of any imperialistic action by the United States. I strongly support 1 on 1 alliances with other nations. I think that is very important to build up alliances with other countries. I generally do not approve of joining up with larger alliances, such as, ATLANTIS or PEACE. Joining large alliances could force us into situations that are more for the alliances interest and not our country. My foreign policy can be summed up in two words, country first.

Transparency

I promise that I will publish my voting record once a week. Also, I am always active, so please send any questions, comments, or suggestions. I will be willing to help anyone that is in need. I take my commitments seriously, so I assure you all that as a Senator, I will always be there to answer questions and to help.

Politics

I will also be willing to work with people of all parties to make our country better. It's not party first, it's country first. I will not spend time in Congress bickering, I'll spend my time in Congress getting things done.

Citizens of Arkansas, I hope that I can have your vote come election time. I promise you that I will work as hard as I can to be the best Senator I can be. If you want activity, dedication, hard work, and a Senator you can interact with, please consider voting for Took Lowind on election day.Our country is good, but with me in the Senate, I know I can me it better. Thank you.

Also, I would like to wish the best of luck to my opponent Killing Time. He has a very distinguished record of public service and from what I have seen of him, he seems to be a good guy. Good luck.
