Сьогодні, 9 листопада, в Україні відзначається День української писемності та мови.



Мова — живий організм, який розвивається за своїми законами. Це нетлінний скарб століть, що передається від покоління до покоління і об’єднує минуле й прийдешнє. Це - спадкоємність не лише в межах роду, а й народу. Ще Вольтер писав, що всі основні європейські мови можна вивчити за шість років, а свою рідну мову треба вивчати все життя.

Це свято було встановлено указом президента України в 1997 році і відзначається щорічно на честь українського літописця Нестора - послідовника творців слов'янської писемності Кирила і Мефодія. Дослідники вважають, що саме з преподобного Нестора-літописця і починається письмова українська мова.

Пізнання світу через національне слово надзвичайно важливе. Рідну мову слід оберігати як своє майбутнє, пам'ятаючи про першозначення її, як безсмертя українського духу, її рятівну, очищаючу, цілющу, відроджуючу властивість. Античні мудреці казали: "Говори - і я тебе побачу". Якими побачить українців світ - залежить від самих українців. Ми хочемо бути багатомовними та багатознаючими, хочемо належати людству. Хочемо бути в його розумі не мертвою, а сяючою клітиною, а для цього маємо засвітитися любов'ю до рідної мови.

Заснування Дня української мови - це тільки проголошення благородної мети. Що ж до практичного її втілення, то абсолютно очевидно - зберігати й плекати рідну мову може тільки її носій. Тобто, ми - українці!

P.S. Сьогодні на Українському радіо традиційно на честь Дня української мови відбудеться традиційний Всеукраїнський диктант національної єдності.
