Work tax is TOO HIGH

Dear readers,
Yesterday, our congress decided to raised the work tax from 5% to 10% !
Tax our citizen is not a good way to our government to raise money to finance war against Germany, Danemark and Netherlands.
This is why I propose to reduce this tax to 5% again. The new tax is to high and people who don't spend real money in this game are really affected by this tax.
Our gouvernement should not raise taxes for finance war. He should raise taxe on importation of weapons in our country.
Why is always poor people who pay the price for rich people?
It's not everyone who have a job at 50 ou 60$ per day. The minimum wage is at 10$! If we take 10% of 10$ it's 1$ ! You will probably say that's not that terrible but IT IS !
If we cut the tax to 5% our citizen will be able to buy enough weapon to win those three wars that our gouvernment started two weeks ago.
Everyone is affected by this new law, specially poor people. This is not a kind of country we want to build. We want equality for everyone.
Please vote yes to put back at 5% the work tax.

He followed game mechanics. Nothing illegal about that. Your arbitrary rules need not apply nor should you reasonably expect any citizen to follow them. Now, that we got that out of the way, the work tax has not proven popular. Garry Carter is well within his rights to question the law and congress is within their rights to vote for or against it.
Unfortunately, Garry Carter and the rest of you pussies in congress don't get it. 10% is nothing. You should all be thankful that 10% is all your president is asking for.
20% is the minimum that he should be demanding. Anything else is wasting our time and wasting our money.
Might be a late reply but I absolutely agree that proposing a law ingame is the real way to do things as long as you post some relevant reasons behind it either ingame or on the forums. Garry did so I'm fine with it.

um.... the only reason you should ever be working for minimum wage is if your in a commune style job where you are paid directly in your share of weapons produced. (thus avoiding the tax all together)

Not a damn thing as nobody imports to Canada. If I want product from another country because it's cheaper I simply move there, buy the product and *poof* for the cost of a moving ticket I've bought my stuff.

Honestly, I just stopped WAM'ing.
I'll take a bit of a hit, but I can't be bothered to put up my product for sale every couple days, stay on top of how much has sold, then discounting if it hasn't gone so I can work again, etc... for what little profit I've been left with.
Can't argue with the extra 7k cc per day were looking to make. Will go a ways to the populace footing some of the war bill. After spending 300k on the war I have no tears for increased taxes.

I am cutting back production as well. Maybe if enough people do it we will see a rise in prices to justify the tax increase.

Yeah, we're all a bunch of pigs now that we don't feel like paying the bill for other people's fun. Like I said before, Germany has some great people. I'm not familiar with ilphen but he's not being a jerk, so go move their and suck on German teat for awhile.

The work tax is where it needs to be. When war is over, the tax should go down. That's usually the way these things work.
The war is over. It was raised after it was over to "recuperate costs" and build a warchest for next time.
I agree it is wise using taxes to cover the costs of repaying the older payers who footed the bill for this war and others before it. It was even wiser that current leaders did not set a limit on how many tax dollars will be needed for repayment and for building the next war chest.
There’s fiercer debates when tax rates are governed by emotions rather than numbers, so the topic will at least give Congress something to talk about.
This game sucks if we cannot war with someone. We need money to war. So i would raise the tax higher tbh.

normally i'd agree. In eRep, incompetence is an inherent given and therefore acceptable. Besides, the game sucks already. A few tax percentages aren't going to make it suck any more or less..
Put work taxes back to 5% if you want from people to stay in eCanada, otherwise people will leave and you won't have 5% work taxes as well.
