The Daily Entertainment First Edition - Freedom

Day 2,343, 02:30 Published in Canada Spain by idontunderstand

Hello eCanada, welcome to the first installment of the Daily Entertainment. my aim for this is nothing spectacular. Just to periodically bring you quotes, fun-facts, jokes, or even poetry should that be desired or receive positive feedback. As this is the first article of my first newspaper, be easy on me friends.

But ANYWAYS. Where was I? Oh right! Due to the recent liberations of a few of our provinces, I have decided that todays theme will be FREEDOM!

Quotes:
Freedom is not worth having if it does not connote freedom to err - Mahatma Gandhi

Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it - Pericles

For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others - Nelson Mandela

Here in this section we have a nice quote from everybodys favorite nuclear warmonger Gandhi 😃 A quote from an ancient Greek Statesman, and one from the recently deceased Nelson Mandela. my personal favorite is that which Pericles said, and i know for sure that we do in fact have the courage to defend our freedom in these times.

MOVING ON!!!!!!

How about a joke now?
Canada Day was quickly approaching in a kindergarten classroom so Ms. Teacher-Lady-Ma'am decided to take this opportunity to talk about Patriotism.
"one of the things we should be happy about, is that in this country we are all free" she told the children.
From the back of the room waddled a little boy. He stood with his hands on his hips and said "I'm not free, I'm four"

Well that was a nice cute little joke wasn't it? Next up in this article is some FUN-FACTS
American President Roosevelt Wanted a Second Bill of Rights, an economic bill of rights which would cover employment with a living wage, food, clothing and leisure, freedom from unfair competition and monopolies, housing, medical care, social security and education.
I bet they wish they used that idea now.
The Religious Freedom Restoration Act was never passed Unanimously.

On a side note, its actually really hard to find things about Freedom that are Non-American.
ANYWAYS TO OUR FINAL SEGMENT, A POEM!!

Todays poem is "Freedom" by Royston Allen

Freedom to give
Freedom to live
Freedom to question why

Freedom to walk
Freedom to talk
Freedom to live or to die

Freedom to sing
Freedom to swing
Freedom to just walk on by

Freedom to speak
Freedom to seek
Freedom to laugh or to cry

Freedom to work
Freedom to shirk
Freedom to spend or to buy

Freedom to please
Freedom to tease
Freedom to smile or to sigh

Freedom to be
Freedom to see
Freedom to aspire so high

Freedom to touch
Freedom to clutch
Freedom to grant or deny

Freedom that’s mine
Freedom divine
Freedom no money can buy.

That is all for the first installment of the Daily Entertainment, I hope my first ever article was enjoyable enough, or at least aesthetically pleasing enough for a first article.

Please feel free to leave any suggestions, what you want more of, and especially future themes, thank you for reading all the way through. Enjoy your day! 😃
