Presidential Election
Today is election day. A very special election day because most eUNL citizens are more concerned about the elections in eBelgium than the eUNL elections.

Shortly before the last congress elections EDEN started a resistance war in Flanders. They claimed to be “liberating” the eBelgian citizens, but they didn't ask the eBelgian their opinion. Today the time has come to end this occupation by “The Group” in a peaceful manner. We will choose a real eBelgian president today, a president that works for the interests of the eBelgians.

Army Applications
All application for the army are processed. Your officer will sent you a notice with everything you need to know within a week.

The orders are posted daily in the newspaper of Defense. Subscribe to this newspaper to make sure you'll have the latest orders.

Join the army
Being a soldier is not hard, basically it's comes down to getting free weapons when the UNL gets attacked. But we need you in our Database. Are you not registered yet? Don't wait but sign up today by filling in this form!
There are two UNL army divisions operating all around the world, the Flying Dutchmen (FD) and Korps Commandotroepen (KCT). These divisions are looking for some fresh blood, find out how to apply to FD and KCT here.

War Events and War Games
The training war against Latvia is coming to an end but new war games will be started soon. When the new war games have started, UNL citizens will get the opportunity to fight together. There will be IRC meetings where UNL citizens will receive information, equipment and instructions to attack on the same time. There will be coaches available to help new citizens with the fighting and healing.

PEACE
Last week PEACE did a major attack on Croatia. Unfortunately, due to bad communication we lost all important battles against Croatia. The servers weren't very helpful either, we saw the headless chicken more often than the battle.

A new Secretary General will be elected this week and a new Supreme Commander will be appointed.

The next PEACE war games will be between Pakistan and Iran. Pakistan will attack Iran. As you can see, we have a MPP (Mutual Protection Pact) with Iran. Everyone living in the eUNL will be able to join the fights. Subscribe to the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense to be notified of the battles.

Finances
First of all, thanks for expressing you confidence in me again as Minister of Finances.

For Finances, the Flanders situation has had quite some impact because of the costs of defending it and helping citizens and organizations in Flanders. Other big expenses were made as the agreed Defense budget for this month has been paid (13.5k NLG), and also the State Companies received cash to pay for wages (20k NLG). Although the amount of cash is structurally declining, there are currently no liquidity problems. However, we will keep a close look at costs made.

The short-term targets for the Ministry of Finances are:
- Keep a close look at the State Accounts, to minimize the cash in it. (This can be stolen when attacked, which is a big threat in the current situation).
- Search for a Ministry of Finances State Secretary. Applications are welcome and can be sent to either "Ministerie van Economische Zak" by ingame PM, or to me by ingame or forum PM. Note that it does not matter what party you are! (PS: It does matter if you are a US Marine... so gassie125, you don't even have to try 😛 )

Other plans for the Ministry of Finances this month are:
- Initiate Congress discussions about a separate organization for Monetary Market Stabilization, to keep MM profits/losses separated and clearly visible from other income/expenses.
- Provide the reports throughout the month - yeah, just like you expect from me by now.
- Estimate expenses per department, with special interest for State Companies and Defense.

Due to my holidays, the weekly report has not been published last Monday, but I will publish it again this week at the usual time (between Sunday 0900 and Monday 0900 eRep time).

Foreign Affairs
This term I got picked as Minister of Foreign Affairs again, which I really appreciate!!

This term I'm gonna do it all a bit different. First, I'm in search of a Secretary of State who will help me in my work and will learn everything about the Ministry so (s)he will be a perfect replacement.

The new Minister of Raws has begun working on donating raws, a lot have already been donated.
Pleas mail Shrubbery or the Ministerie van Grondstoffen WHICH resources you want to buy, and for how much gold. Send the gold to the Ministerie van Grondstoffen so the minister can use it to buy those resources. The minister will donate them to you asap and will try and get all requests solved as soon as possible, normally within 24H.

Recruitment & Coaching
The plans for Recruitment and Coaching were published in this article.
The new minister will make sure the tasks of the ministry (recruiting of new eCitizens for eUNL, coaching new citizens, providing information on opportunities in the eUNL, responding to questions about eRepublik) will be fulfilled. Special attention will be given to a new section on the forum for new citizens.

It has come to our attention that new citizens are often overwhelmed by the information on the forum. There's lots of it, but it is difficult to find your way. To help new citizens find useful information, a topic for new members will be created with tutorials, FAQ, an introduction topic and information about the history of our union (Belgium & the Netherlands joining, RW Flanders). When that is done, we'll be ready for a new baby room!

The ministry is looking for a new Head of Coaching and a State Secretary.

State Companies & Gold Market
Stable Monetary Market
Again this week NLG stayed at 0.016 gold but gold has risen to 65.999 NLG. The foreign investors are still selling slowly their NLG. As said last week too, we must be aware to have enough gold on the market. Private companies promised and do help there. The situation is slowly becoming more urgent. So whomever has some gold left, place it at the monetary market for NLG. When sold use your NLG to buy weapons to train better and rank so our army will become stronger, our economics will improve and the monetary market becomes healthier.

State Companies
Some good profits are made on Q5 food. For a part our food stock is used to supply people in Belgium with good food, another part of the stock is used to improve the wellness of some employees at our companies. The stocks of weapons, gifts and moving tickets are good. If we have a new war on our soil we will be prepared! The amount of employees at the training companies is somewhat decreasing and their wellness is increasing. Our wood companies are running excellent. We will improve the communication between our management team.

Q5 Hospitals and Q5 Defense Systems for sale
We are still searching for customers for Q5 hospitals and Q5 defense systems. We have them ready at fair prices around 250 gold and we accept raws together with gold or local currency as payment. Our ambassadors are looking for customers and within our alliance we already contacted a lot of nations. There is some interest now. Hopefully more news on this next week .

Employees needed?
Whenever you're looking for employees, contact OE_Volksgezondheid. We have very healthy and skilled employees available. These will be fired when there are jobs in the private companies. The employees low on wellness are helped to achieve a good wellness.

Ikkoo and Shane911 have left their job as state company manager. Thanatos NL is a new state company manager and will start today with his work. We are glad he joined our team and wish him good luck. We can use more managers. Write an application to the director-general Mitch Rapp or to Cocoamok.

Belgian Affairs
Last week we have been busy setting up a work group to try to win the Belgian elections. We are currently very active in gaining support with people registering in Flanders who might have voted for the Group in the previous elections.

We know it will be very though to win these elections, but we won't give up without a fight and keep on trying.

Our allies, the UK sent 15 Royal Navies over to Belgium to support the elections, and we are very grateful for that.

Now we can just pray and hope we are going to win the elections today!
