Good Day and welcome to issue #13 of UK Today!

Have you looked at the world map by any chance lately? Or maybe had a peek at our most recent battle in Ireland? Go on, look at Ireland on this map. Exciting, no? Well then you need to check here as well. The lump in your throat, tears swelling up in your eyes and the fly you've been trying to swat for hours finally going out of the open window, the emotion must be so difficult to contain. Ireland will soon be back under British rule. If you're not entirely up-to-date with current events and you see Belgium also changing colour, don't start thinking that the UK has suddenly turned into a Galactic Empire. The battles in Belgium are all planned between our two countries. The idea is that we take one, attack the next region while they start a Resistance War in the region we've just taken and this will continue like that. For more information, check out this article. Be careful on what battle to fight in as there are several at the moment which are quite appealing, we don't want you to be throwing your influence into a battle that does not need it.
You may have noticed a few changes to eRepublik recently. The first thing you will have noticed is the Country Status bar below the tabs on your homepage. The second thing you may have noticed are Town Centers. These give you extra health you can regain, but how do you get them? After the Work Skill was removed, the admin gave everyone a town center, depending on their level. If you joined after this happened then you have to meet certain requirements, and have the right amount of money to upgrade them.
