[Know Your Candidates] January 2014
Ian E CoIeman
January 4, 2014
On the 5th of every month the nations of the New World begin the process of electing a new leader for their country. This is by far the most important election of the month, and the outcome of this day will determine our fate for the month to come.
Let your vote be an exercise of individual choice, a reflection of your loyalty to eIreland, and a result of the careful application of independent thought.
In an attempt to better inform the voting population, I'd like to provide some essential information about this month’s elections.

Campaign Articles
It's a good idea to read the campaign articles of each candidate before voting. Campaign articles most often detail the intentions and goals of a candidate, as well as their planned cabinet.
Note: The Country President's Cabinet refers to a team of people who will be aiding the Country President in his/her duties. Important examples are the Minister(s) of Defence, Minister(s) of Foreign Affairs, and Minister(s) of Finance. For examples of past cabinets, look here. For a better idea of how Irish government is set up, look here.

I offered each candidate the opportunity to respond to some questions about their candidacy that I thought would shed some light on these elections. All answers to those questions provided to me by the candidates can be found below.
Why are you choosing to run this month and what do you hope to accomplish in these elections?
Kaptain Kidd: Those are sort of seperate issues so I'll answer them seperately. I tend to pick January just because of my work schedule, January is cold and since I work in construction I basically get shutdown and have a lot of free time on my hands. I personally believe the time you invest into being CP equates directly to the results you achieve, so having the time is important. As for what I hope to accomplish it's to bring Ireland a little bit of fun. I don't have any sort of problem with Bhane personally the last few months but it has been rather dull. Raising interest levels keeps people involved and unity is easier when eveyone has a common goal, regardless of what that goal is.
Cry of the Banshee: after a first candidacy,i passed time to grow my party and now for the first month of 2014, i feel ready to propose my services.
Bhane: I still have unfinished business.
How would you summarize your plan for governing the nation in January?
Kaptain Kidd: To do things never before attempted, but in a safe manner. I've tossed out the ideas of building a new alliance, of going to war with Canada. Not everyone will be thrilled with those notions, but it allows us to try some new things, to have a little fun without consequences.
Cry of the Banshee: i can't say all now but i will employ my time to propose some news, and the AS can be one of them.
Bhane: I will continue to facilitate the decision making process of the people and the dail, and implement the policies based on the will of the people.
What considerations have you made for cabinet positions? How will you be using your cabinet if you are elected?
Kaptain Kidd: Certain positions I chose because of who the person was, I know their connections and how to use those advantages. Other positions I let be open to newer players or anyone that was willing to step up. I believe someone who actually wants to volunteer is better than somehow who's just been there 50 million times, it's a stronger work ethic to actually want to do it. It's also my experience that nothing is unfixable, so taking some chances are OK. Those that remember my last term in Canada, over half of my cabinet was unknowns before they started, you have to give those chances.
Cry of the Banshee: i will create a council (5 advisers) instead of a prime minister.
so my cabinet will be very important during my term. no official decision will be made without my council.
Bhane: As always, my goal is to generate the most informed decisions, because those are the most reliable kind. A diverse team leads to diverse points of view, leads to productive discourse, leads to good choices.
December’s government passed a land rental agreement with the United States, Cork and Wexford in exchange for some 130,000cc monthly revenue. What are your intentions for the future of this agreement?
Kaptain Kidd: I'll respect the people's will and remain neutral, so far all my plans are built around non interference with this.
Cry of the Banshee: the agreement is here, in place, and we already lost part of our shield for this, so it will be an error to stop it.
BUT, i will talk with USA CP to change one term : if the agreement is over due to a successfull rw, he will be over for good during MY TERM.
Bhane: I will implement the choice made by the people of eIreland.
Our Dáil has seen fit to allocate the revenue from land rentals to a new training ground upgrade program. What are your intentions toward this program and the future use of any such revenues?
Kaptain Kidd: Again non interference, I think the program has some benefits and drawbacks. But I'll allow the will of the people.
Cry of the Banshee: what i read about the TG program is not exactly like i wish, we will discuss about few changes. and i want to expand the help for citizen to other matters, especially in the marketplace.
Bhane: The first rent payment was allocated to the TG upgrade program by the dail. This term's dail will decide where to spend February's rent. They may add to the TG funding, or spend it on something new.
With the effective dissolution of Circle of Trust it is left for us to speculate what new forms the global alliance scene may take. TWO still stands on its feet, but changes to resistance wars have forced us all to re-evaluate global strategy. Given all of this, what goals will define Foreign Affairs progress in the coming month?
Kaptain Kidd: I'd like to find a group of countries that have similiar goals to us and build something we respect.
Cry of the Banshee: you're right, this is an important goal for the future and we need to be part of a possible new strong alliance. we will try to work on that.
Bhane: Success is the meeting of preparation, and opportunity. FA will probably be focused on trying to keep up with any geopolitical shifts. We have been prepared, and we need to stay that way. When the opportunity finally occurs, we will be in a very good position.
The question of how to set up Dáil and how to determine its roll in decision making has really stood out as an issue in recent months – and one where there are really no foundations for a matter of fact answer. How do you plan to structure and facilitate Dáil discussions and what roll will they play in our government under your tenure in January?
Kaptain Kidd: Congress will get their say it's how the game is built, they have to agree to get any vote done. I've been in congress and I don't always agree will everything either, but there are some levels of respect. I've survived 6 impeachment attempts, people can disagree with me, but I've never been impeached. Whether I'm loved or hated I always present them the options and let them decide.
Cry of the Banshee: a little strange taht none wants to use the forum just for the dail.
i want to find another system (the dail separate in two like i saw in my congressterm wasn't good) i have ideas, we'll see.
Bhane: The Dail determines the ongoing policies that drive the nation. If anyone wants changes to those policies, I will do what I always do. I will facilitate the discussion and debate, so the dail can make an informed decision.
Are there any special goals or projects that you plan on undertaking this month?
Kaptain Kidd: Attempting to build an alliance, lofty but you never know if you don't try.
Cry of the Banshee: yes, i want that the citizen feel more important for the country, i will work on this but this can make more than one month..
Bhane: I think I am making actual progress on my robbery ticket. I don't think I can get all of the 3million+ cc, but I think I can get a portion. If I could just get a half million or a million, it would be a great victory for eIreland.
This is a packed election going into January with at least three candidates in the running. How do you predict this election will unfold, and how confident are you in your campaign?
Kaptain Kidd: Patience is a virtue.
Cry of the Banshee: Brian Boru just retires from the race and united irish men are supporting captain kidd (a player i don't know well to be honest)
so, this is very indecisive..the most important for me is to know that i did the best possible the day of the election. after..the people will chose, not me.
Bhane: The ILP runs a pretty strict ship to keep it's member voting in line. CoB has adopted the banner of being "opposition" which will win the people that fall for Vik's endless barrage of lies about me. I am not very confident I can win. When I lose, Vik will inevitably count every vote against me as validation for his cyberbully tactics. I have to at least try and take a stand against that.
What will this last term be remembered for?
Kaptain Kidd: Did anything actually happen?
Cry of the Banshee: the rental agreement.
Bhane: The rental agreement, and all the drama therein.
What will your term be remembered for?
Kaptain Kidd: The Gordie Howe hat trick, I'll figure out the details later.
😛
Cry of the Banshee: the air strike
😉
i hope : the will to propose something new, even if all doesn't work (maybe)
Bhane: I hope the next term is remembered for long overdue justice for the robbery, and a lot of money back in our bank.
There you have it eIreland. The choice between these eIrish candidates is yours. Choose well.
This article has been brought to you by the free thinking, free speaking, and free voting spirit of Eire Aonair.

Every answer made by CoB:
"I have ideas.."
"We'll see.."
"I'll talk and see what to do.."
"If RW is successful the deal will be over.."
Once again, you haven't said anything else then just you'll make a decision once you're elected. That sounds much as hidden intentions and I'm afraid of that. I know you're good guy, but I fear you'll make bad decision and then go like: "Well, it's legit, I'm President".
You're not respecting decision made by Irish on the referendum and in the meantime you're saying "Power to the people". Sounds like populism too much.
I'm still waiting for at least one concrete idea you'll provide.
if i say now all my ideas..it's not very smart..i opened the lines. and i answered clearly on actual matters.
don i still wait for a referendum with more vote counters then one bias CP.
And bhane as CP might represent irish people but he does not during referendum.
That deal therefore is not a will of people but only Bhane....
I agree with MUFC you don't really have a clear plan it's "ifs" and "buts" to me.
and other candidates?
Cob ignore them they just want to create a diversion and a point to make undecided voters not vote for you. I think your answers was well thought out.
Also you show no obsession with other players. Bhane has this obsession with kurgan that is unnatural. I think your term will be a good one if your elected and that we the people of Ireland should ignore useless trolls like Don Croata and Ian Arbuckle.
"The ILP runs a pretty strict ship to keep it's member voting in line"
Why did nobody tell me that?
Lol...Considering the replies to our mass messages this is also news to me lol
That's good to hear, WHS.
The ILP often represents itself as a unified block, and does not advertise dissent like that. I'm glad to hear that I am misinformed. Cheers to productive debates in your mass PMs !
I belive that trito guy today had an article against me and krakken and he is ILP.
So much about strict ship.....
Unless don do not understand term free will.....and ILP always had a free mind and free will policy....
trito joined country in last week he is not"ILP"yet. Bhane they are backing a candidate go sell your orc lies somewhere else. Perhaps on street corners with a "The End is Near Kurgan is here board"
another good interview ! a greta idea and opportunity for irish to make their choice.
Bhane: I will implement the choice made by the people of eIreland...what choice you talk about bhane?
Coz you being the only vote counter on that fake referendum only makes you implementing your will.
If you really cared about what people of ireland thinks you would have more people to count and control votes.
And again and again and again Bhane failes to explain WHAT LIES....
What i lied Bhane?
Say it...i dare you to say a single lie lie of mine....
CoB from day one fight for free ireland.....for ireland with pride and honour...not orc pride.
Look what bhane and his orcs Coleman and Sweet as CPs did..humiliated ireland before brits...bending over before them and begged for mercy.
For 6 months british overlords walked all over irish coz "irish" government was too busy to be on their knees.
And when we finaly got our ireland back same orc try to whoring to americans for small change destroying our shield..shield that irish people earned.
And lets not forget mpps...we dont have...
CoB fight like insane for this wretched lands.....it was his MU that liberated ireland..not IA..
I give my vote to brave and honourable warrior like CoB over corrupted spinless politicians any time...
And you irish?
You have any honour or spine left?
As for article....nice and objective....good work....
voted and good luck!
nice ava, mate xdxd
Another nice article...voted
Ian, if you refer back to the agreement with the eUSA, we are being paid 90k IEP/month. We received 130k IEP as the first payment made, because it was a full payment for the month of January and payment for a bit under half of December as that was when they took possession of both regions.
The breakdown is 50k IEP/month for the iron resource in Wexford and 20k IEP/month for the regions of Cork and Wexford. The money for the regions is intended to offset our tax losses and payment toward the economic value of our defensive shield destroyed in the rental agreement.
😁 This
People could infer the incorrect numbers from your question. The rent is 70k per month plus a 20k rebate for the shield/occupation tax rebate.
And if anyone thinks 20k IEP/month, minus tax losses, is a real compensation for the value lost from our shield, I have a bridge from Cork to Cardiff that I'd like to sell you...
The shield was added as factor to the rebate to allow for easy maths of keeping a round number There was no need to add the headache of tallying every penny each month for a precise number. Also, as the bank's MM returns become more stable, we will be able to afford more tax cuts. This will hopefully make the tax portion of the rebate shrink over time, and the excess will finally start being some real recompense for the lost shield.
I agree with everything but think the "free voting Eire Ainoar" is a joke. You have used Eire shoutbox to influence others:
1. telling people not to vote for a pp candidate
2. telling people to in mass report me.
As this is a party message I will ask that you remove the University banners. Your clearly not objective and neither will your party vote independently despite your claims. You tried to make yourself look independent in the hope to support 1 candidate whilst the ilp and independent voices have a split vote.
So basically what you are saying if I let out a shout in the party shoutbox saying vote ChewChewShoe for CP then I am actually showing my parties views rather than just voicing a personal opinion.
Also you letting out shouts like :
"Releasethe Krakken wrote 28 days ago
My people when you plunge into the darkness and act out your perversions. Remember the light is always there to save you. Vote Kurgan down with corruption "
😁^
Meaning you haven't tried to influence others using the Eire shoutbox to vote for a pp candidate.
Just because someone tells you to do something the shoutbox does not mean that you have to do it....
It is purely voicing their own opinions or at least that is how I see it.
Yes but I was not PP or a senior member then. Of course Ian says it it is the party line that he talks about. How would that differ from what WHS do then?
People that is in a party after a certain reason is there for a reason. therefore they follow party instructions. If your so certain of your case send me by PM the last 6 shouts and your pm thread.
Just looking at this article where is Ian telling people who to vote for, he has just published an interview with links to their campaign articles.
I'm not saying anything against WHS or how he runs the ILP. From when I was in the ILP I remember there were suggestions about who to vote for, even when it was for the PP unless it was fairly obvious that the person running for PP was going to be counter productive to the party or if they joined the party in the same week as they ran for the PP elections. There were forums discussing about who should be voted for and they made the decisions as a party although people could still vote for who they wanted to if they wished to.
Hmmm the last pm that I responded to was that community thread which I believe you are in so not much point resposting it
And last 6 shouts, the last time I shouted something probably months or weeks back in my main shoutbox and I don't think that I can access that unless you are counting replies to shouts which in that case.
In the Eire shoutbox

We actually have several but as far as I know none of them are used besides for potentially political party forums

Previous military unit when something of the lines of Welcome, Congrats, Here is a link to food/weapons. Any questions?
Also with consideration to Ian abusing the Eire Aonair shoutbox, care to prove it preferably with screenshots, I seem to have missed that part.
The only people I know to do it (tell people (not) to vote for certain people) is Don Croatia and honestly I have learned to take what ever he says with a handful of salt and Rafaia who I don't really know that well along with maybe a couple of the ex-ICA lads and a couple of other people from other parties but this is just their personal opinion
Be careful Irasian they will accuse you of been under my spell...I told you to post that didn't I.
There is nothing you can say that will persuade Bhane & supporters that we are not a Stalinist entity with rigid control from the centre...I have now given up trying. He is deaf to reason and has now resorted to lying about me.
WHS, I do not believe you order Vik/RtK to do what they do, attacking ILP targets.
The ILP simply allows it to happen, tacitly endorsing the behavior with their silence. It's a deniability that is easy to maintain, while the two tools do party politic dirty work. They have a silent understanding with the ILP. When you guys want that dynamic to change, you will make it loudly clear to Vik, since that is the only volume he hears.
) It's a fact that Vik/RtK have firmly planted on the ILP "side"
) It's a fact that the ILP enjoys the political benefit of having them as attack dogs.
) It's a fact the ILP does not make it clear this support is unwelcome, and they have strong desire for Vik/RtK to stop their dirty tactics.
) It is not a fact that WHS and Vik meet in a back room to plot whom the bullies will attack next.
) It is not a fact that there is any overt conspiracy between the two parties.
I have not lied about you, please don't put words in my mouth, WHS. You are not Vik, you are better than that. My door is still open to you and all of the ILP to help my administration. Heck, my door is even open to Vik and RtK, I don't turn anyone away
Bhane you're a liar
I have told you in public and in private how your are wrong in what you are saying.
But you repeat it over and over again meaning not only are you lying but you are calling me a liar
It pains me to say that because I expected better from you. Seemingly, unknown to me, you are living up to a low standard you actually accuse me of.
Sad times indeed
Congrats on your victory btw. Seems MUFC judged the mood correctly. You should reward him.
If I am wrong, then please tell me where it happened?
I must have missed your article condemning Vik.
or maybe I didn't see that big long comment war you had with him. Where was it that you told him unequivocally that his attacks against your political foes would not be tolerated. When was it that you alienated Vik, even though it cost you his support, and added the ILP to his list of targets.
Oh... none of that has happened yet? I guess I wasn't lying.
That is the only thing I have accused you of doing. I have accused you of NOT standing up to Vik's tactics, while your party reaps the benefits of his campaigns of lies against those viewed as "enemies" by the ILP. The deafening silence of the ILP has been a tacit endorsement of Vik's work on your behalf. Please prove my doubts wrong.
Time and again you have placated me with words that you do not condone his lies, but your actions say otherwise. On the other hand, I admonished Croata as soon as I read him accusing CoB of using multis. If you would do the same when Vik lies, you could reverse my feelings (and the feelings of many others) about ILP intentions concerning Vik/RtK. You don't have to contradict them every time they lie, just make a visible effort to help the community expose their tactics.
WHS, if you read back on what Irasian said, I think you'll find he was addressing RTK's accusations against EA, not anything to do with Indie Labour, other than to say its no different from any other party in that people express their political opinions.
I think its true that ILP has a much closer knit party community than anyone else - but isn't that a strength? It doesn't mean that your members don't think for themselves or have their own opinions. A consequence of that is that you're a more efficient political entity and that members within a sub community are more likely to form similar views.
As far as VK/RTK there's an undeniable dynamic between them and Indie Labour - but that isn't Indie Labours fault unless they choose to reciprocate it. I think it's probably more convenient to turn a blind eye to their behaviour than it is to confront it. Certainly, once you or your friends become a target of them, it becomes much harder to ignore. But for me at least, my hatred for them isn't at all political or strategic, it's completely personal. I hate them in RL, they aren't part of this game to me. They are despicable human beings.
ILP has good members who think for themselves and vote for themselves - who have something to offer eIreland and who have contributed more than their fair share. I just have a personal resentment for anyone who tolerates VK/RTK... can't help it.
There are no university banners in this article. And if there were, those banners are mine so I can use them how I want.
Nice Ian. Thanks for the info.
I love how aeriala brags on how he survived 6 impeachment attempts. Why would you face 6 impeachment attempts in the first place?
Good article Ian, good luck to all
voted, good luck to all candidates
