When Push Comes to Shove.
Ardikus V2
eCanada is a Jungle, we're all over each other.
So, our Country President's first article addressing the nation after his election spoke of one thing as a main point; Unity. He asked eCanadians to unite under one banner to work together for the betterment of the nation, sounds so great, right? Well, apparently losing the political game for eight months makes all the parties unite, as we were (mostly) in unison to fight eSpain when they took us over. However, the moment congress elections are back in the fray, every party goes after one another.
CRP members who supported DMV and put him in the running still argue with everyone else defending him, CPF joins their cause, insulting and pointing fingers at MDP, on the other side, MDP does the same to CPF, as does CW, as it seems. Where is the unity our President asked for, CPF and CRP, you folks elected him, follow his example, as for MDP and CW, as well as the IPC who's prominent members I have not noticed in these mudslinging matches, although I'm sure at least some of them are there, as well as all the non top 5 parties, well, DMV's job is to appease the people, so if you couldn't get them to vote for you on the 5th, do things they agree with afterwards.
So, why has our government done nothing to promote the unity they ask for. Any true eCanadian would know that our parties wont simply work together for no reason, just because some guy in the hot seat asks(Unless of course that person is TemujinBC, then we all bow as one). IF the government wants the people and their parties to unite, they have to work at it. So please, bring an end to the mudslinging and do us some good. Stick to your campaign, if you tell us you wont have us joining an alliance, don't join CoT four days after the election because you like CoT.
So that brings to an end one misguided, malinformed and very confusing article. I don't even know what my main point was, just felt like ranting about politics.

The CP pursues a course of action under the banner of "well you did vote for me", with no consultation with either the parties or the general public. I think the word unity actually means blind obedience in the USA. I'm more surprised at the number of people that didn't have issue with this.
Actually the party leaders were all consulted, as were the MU leadership.
still leaves the General public's opinion left unsaid.
Not every decision can be run passed the general public, if it were nothing would get done.
Major issues and decisions should be put to them. No one will care if you change taxes by a few % to help the economy, but people care about what Alliance they are in.
I don't remember being "consulted" when it went out.
Voted.
I think it would be interesting to see what future congress candidate has to say about CoT
It's not that a ton of us are specifically against joining CoT. It's the fact that our CP said he would not put us in an alliance, and then did so without asking public opinion. Yes though, it might be interesting come the 25th to see what people say.
That's true, he promised. But since a presidential mandate is so volatile (1 month) can't politic courses be as volatile?
Generally something as big as which alliance we join isn't a topic you want to change your position on less than ten days into your term.
Don't get me wrong, I dislike representative democracies as much as the other man but if there's a Congress, it's for stuff like this. Their job is to analyze if the presidential proposals make sense.
"isn't a topic you want to change your position on less than ten days into your term."
Makes sense
Also to represent the population and what they want. Sort of have to ask the population what they want before deciding 'this is whats best for Canada'
Ardikus, I was aware of the results of the previous survey and tbh the situation called for a certain degree of decisiveness and expedience due to the ever evolving international politic climate. I can understand people being upset about the way things changed, but sometime a leader has to be willing to make a decision without regards to whether or not it will be popular, but rather whether or not it is the right decision. The reason a referendum was not held is because there is information that could not be shared with the public due to the sensitive nature of the information.
Please explain to me what this sensitive information is.
Ardikus that would kind of defeat the purpose of not releasing the information to the general public in the first place.
There are ways to give a general outline without revealing sensitive information. Besides, if information regarding eCanada can't be shared with eCanada, we must have issues. So please, if you aren't too worried about a leak, explain why the information is 'sensitive'. Because frankly, the fact that you can't tell us your secret information robs you of proof that you can't tell us your secret information. Ironic.
I'v learned I can promise anything in foreign affairs if I run for CP and then just say that things move fast in international affairs so I do not have to keep my promise 😛

Just because the CP asked for unity does not mean that it was going to happen. I am not surprised at all at the current state of affairs. The CP was not elected by a majority of the voters, let alone a majority of the citizens. His support amongst active players (indicated by casting a vote on election day) is less than 3 in 10 so it is completely reasonable that there is a lack of unity.
The CP should be wary of the "you did vote for me" line because 7 out of 10 voters didn't and there is more unity in that than there is in keeping him in office.
Things are tenuous, congress and CP should govern themselves accordingly.
I believe he's to use to the way things run in USA where the elites just decide to do what they want and everyone else just follows suit. I'm a fan of dictatorships but not by one with little to no backing to actually make it so in game.
To clarify, I'm not suggesting we should unite or that I'm surprised we haven't done so already. Being united is only fun when it's on the battlefield.
I agree. Political napalm is best napalm : )
Sorry Ardikus, I'm gonna break up this Unity thing I think 🙁
DMV isn't happy with me 🙁
Thats fine, I don't like Unity.
aww , now what di you do IBB, bad boy
I tink it was a "scandal" 🙁
The Congress vote was 75% in favor, blame your representatives, no the CP.
70%*
I heard it had been 75%, but really this article is pointing out that it would have been nice to vote on if we wanted to join CoT at the present time.
From what I've seen, expecting people to get along and be happy with each other is too high an expectation. However, if you look at 'Unity' as 'gitn'er done,' then I'd say eCanada has been very unified these past 10 days. It all depends on your perspective.
hmmph, it cut my url : (

I was one who voted no to the CoT proposal, I also ran DMV on the ballot to make the election interesting, I didn't actually think he would win but at he end of the day I believe any of the candidates would have done a good job. The disunity is pointless, people holding grudges for no reason. So what if he didnt contact EVERYONE for the trail membership? At the end of the day congress agreed with the proposal and it went through, I still don't agree with it but that's not the point.
The sad thing is people have instantly held it against him that he's American. So what? It's a game...
I've had people questioning my loyalty and calling me the 'untrustworthy Brit' 'never trust a Brit' 'British backstabber' 'British PTOer' - Oh really...? I would have thought I would have proven something by now at least.
Instead of holding grudges, instead of bawing on every article, whining and bitching eCanada should grow a pair and focus on the future, growing our country and helping the eBabies. We are not going to change the past and we have to adapt to different types of leadership.
baw
We adapted to rylde and rolo leaderships.

We at the IPC like to party, and are to busy building the third death star, to mudsling about how other parties love to attack each other!
