Pollution Aftermath
Henry the 8th
So it seems things are starting to settle and only a few industries are affected by pollution (some food, weapons & housing but only certain Q levels in certain regions, like WA housing, SA weapons and Tas food)
Food/Tasmania http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/region/Tasmania
Weapons/South Australia http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/region/South-Australia
Houses/Western Australia http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/region/Western-Australia
With this I think we might be saved from what I hear is "over pollution" that has reportedly happened in some countries where they actually make less products compared to a country with zero resources ....
On a side note we also had a very good tax day yesterday of over $27,000 !!!!
This has to nearly be a record in eAus recent history if not all time, but is it to last? We got most of that money within a few hours and today sees only a fraction of that revenue received so far, could be a glitch, could be the new norm, who knows at this stage is anyone's guess.
The next best question is what do we do with all this money if it is to be a common occurrence?
My suggestions are mixed, but I think they have to be mixed to satisfy the majority of citizens that all have different ideas of prosperity .....
So I propose these ideas, if you have any ideas please speak up so we can start to focus on what matters or what the population wants
🙂
1. ADF and general n00b player development and subsidies.
2. A stronger MPP stack that protects us further from outside threats (I think we need at least 10 strong allies to counter any unwanted attacks).
3. A solid savings account that holds enough cash to thwart any unwanted dictator or hostile country to take our country from under us, and also simply just holding a reserve in case Plato decides to destroy the economy again and we need to rely on surplus.
4. We use some of the money to have government run lotteries, games or giveaways to create some excitement in the general population which will hopefully breed some activity and more people coming out of the 2 click woodwork.
Personally I'd like to see all of the above take place, I think a logical exercise would be to make it a percentage based program rather than a set amount we allocate each month, this keep things equal as it all depends on our progressive revenue and not ideas that worked months ago but don't apply now, but please feel free to give Australia some ideas on where you think we need to focus our efforts in making Australia great again ....

Are you running for CP then?
lol no, I don't think they like me 😃
That never stopped u running before 😛
Every month we are promised HT84CP \o/ but never comes. Such disappoint.
vote 🙂
Share with me \o/
Dude! Who are you and what happened to Henry?
Everyone knows you get two articles a year, not two in a week. And there are no pictures...
no pics? ....
and there was 0 articles in Aus so I thought I had to "pollute" it somehow 😛
We all know Henry never writes articles, let alone a valid article. My money is on sold account or sex change and hormone tablets are kicking in 😛
I like to free base my hormone tablets 😉
On the pollution thing. A 100% bonus country will still have more productivity than a 0% bonus country, as the highest pollution is 25%, but it is true that many 118% maximum bonus regions have ended up with 93% productivity for example.
I'm in favour of sharing the wealth to help new players and build community. We certainly have more than enough saved for emergencies now so even disregarding that 27K yesterday, which may or may not be repeated, with this term's average so far of around 6-7K a day I think that after MPPs we have around 100K a month we could spend on welfare, stimulus and entertainment.
It does also depend of congress approving the spending. During the resource wars we tried to float the idea of spending some money on COs but many were against it so a lot of our success in the resource wars is down to the generosity of a few individuals.
Hopefully though we can find a few solid long term spending programs that most agree to.
With reserves we allocate them individually, so basically we put a % on each idea, lets say CO's is to be no more than 10% of reserve surplus cash etc.
Having a sizeable amount sitting in the ADF for emergencies is certainly a plan, and maybe even a little for other top MUs like CFH and KH, although perhaps that would be more controversial.
Giving money away is also a good way to keep it safe, even if it is long term loans that keep on rolling over. But even giveaways especially for things like HCs, could pay for themselves in terms of extra revenue.
I think we could certainly give MoEE at least 10-20K a month to use however they like, even if they delegate some to people running werewolves and similar things for prizes. That way we help people with initiative to make their events even bigger.
A great game right now would be seeing who can pick how many seats the coalition and labor will get.
No to paying MUs, we did that years ago and even though it helped it caused more problems than it was worth
[removed]
I think a relatively safe idea is fill the ADF MU with cash every month that can be used on ADF members through personal COs for that MU only so n00bs get an instant reward for fighting, then holding a surplus in there as well so COs can also be set in case of military emergency 😉
And there was an American article I saw earlier that said that you can actually go backwards, so maybe it is a thing
I think some of the discussions around the productivity formula can get confusing, sometimes people make reference base productivity, some don't.
Base Productivity is 100%
Maximum Country Bonus is 100%
Maximum Extra Region Bonus is 18%
Maximum Pollution is -25%.
You have to put all these together to get the overall productivity. To talk about going backwards it depends on your starting point. But the regions with any pollution usually have a reasonable bonus to start with. I doubt there are any countries with a 25% country bonus who are getting 25% pollution.
Not saying that staff won't change things in future, and we're also still waiting to see if regional taxes and governments promised before become a thing.

Yeah, similar to the problem we've had here with WA and SA, although I think we may have been dug out of that hole by the massive volume of industry in places like the USA driving up the average works per region for things like Q1 Housing and Q7 Weapons.
Of course it's only region vs region comparison in the USA here. Even 193% productivity is still better than what most countries have. We only get that on food in TAS, and even then only when we have fish in from Otago to boost the country bonus.
I realised just now that I too in my first comment here also said 93% productivity when I really meant either 93% bonus or 193% productivity.
US Congress would have extrapolated that one day's income out to three years, and spent it all already.
The first point should not be considered. There are no new players and flankly, it would be masochist to invite people to play here with a noob account.
I agree, but those that do want to be subjected to Plato's Guantanamo style torture do need a leg up 😉
I'm all for the points you've made. You should run for CP
Maybe in the future, but I'd need a team of workers to make it productive, 1 person can't run a country 😉
well I know I am not a very experienced but I am happy to help you with anything
We need to first work out what our avg tax income will be. It is great to float ideas, but unless we can guarantee a set amount of income, we can't guarantee money for schemes.
I just hope our income stays at a higher avg rate and we can use it to help develop the populas inside our nation.
That's why we do our budget as a percentage, not set figure amounts ....
i.e.
25% for ADF, n00b development & CO's
25% for savings account
25% for MPPs
25% for games, giveaways and citizen invigoration
(example only)
I agree with percentage, but after 'x' amount, as we still should ensure a minimum is saved. Plus to use percentages, we will need to base it off the previous terms income, so funds can be allotted at the start of term, budgets drawn up and planned.
The only downside to use of percentages is for programs like ADF, tank bank etc. As they are ways of helping players. I would hate to see the ADF only being able to do 100tanks given away one week and 50 the next due to percentages being used. With comps, it is easier to have a variable amount of prize money. (sorry if that part is confusing, but I hope you get what I am trying to say)
I did put 25% for saving ...
Well ADF can be a fixed thing, then the prizes can be altered, done 🙂
Also the tax increase is once off, it was due to COs.
Wait for planes to be added, before that we don't really know what is what.
We didn't get a plane resource though so prolly doesn't affect us ....
It's about a lot more than that. Chances are planes will slowly replace weapons and weapons will be phased out over the next couple of years.
We don't know how planes change the economy, if there is work as manager, we don't know how they'll change war or if the new type of training is payed or free. Point being that a lot can change so it's best to have some idea about what comes next before deciding on a strategy.
About planes, they stated more than 1 time will not be possible to WAM.
Other subjet all right, it's a bet.
'Where have they stated that?
Many times in the forum. They always say: "WAM for all than House and Aricraft".
Henry for CP or riot!
Do I really have to assign my 100 companies to a holdings company one by one?
yes 😛
I am waiting for airplanes. Q7 airplane attacks with atomic bombs. Mutually assured destruction. Nuclear winter. 0% productivity. eRep dies. Game over.
