[BoG] Mexican Government Bulletin: Lots of fun, never satisfied and Merry Christmas - English Version of the original article

Welcome to our international audience, I have translated this time our internal BoG in order for our allies in particular to be better informed of Mexican affairs.

The major themes I am talking about are:
1. Colombia – Mexico war Back and forth
2. Mexico economy
3. Personal holidays message

Colombia – Mexico war Back and forth

The good news: We defended successfully South East of Mexico (SEoM), without spending a big amount of money

It wasn’t easy… Our allies, mostly CoT, had other priorities at the time. Of course the priority of helping Paraguay and Peru have a Congress, was higher than helping Mexico which has all our original regions; even if we happened to lose one, we should be able to take it back in a few days.
So we were gliding on a Pri 3, except on the critical mini, where Colombia was looking like taking a big advantage, they had attacked at 0:05 eRep and gained traction, mostly in Div 4 where they had won most of the minis.
In this critical mini, Colombia’s Div 3 had the advantage 1570-70, when we started pushing… I called for CoT’s help at that time, seizing the moment since the other critical battles had just ended, and we could see how that made a change:

With all our allies help (a lot of people from all around CoT, but also Poland and Serbia), we were able to turn that mini around and change the trend. It is a big lesson how real allies are not always asking to be the priority, need to focus on helping the other members of the alliance first; but also, you can count on those real allies to be with you at the critical time.

After this critical mini, even when I stopped supplies one mini later (we had spent a bit more than enough by that time), we started to gain on every mini, and even when the Colombians wasted damage and spent a lot on mercenaries (way more than us), they were not able to take back command of the campaign

I have been called “Penny-pincher President”… Seems I deserve the nickname, even foreign mercenaries complain about it…

I did get offers from foreign friends, particularly Venezuelan, to donate tanks for our campaign. I didn’t accept, because I prefer a sustainable war model while we are not in a high risk or national emergency. But I have to thank for that support, it is always great to know there is great people wanting to help; it is just that I don’t want to use it cheaply… Unfortunately, we still have to work on getting more internal support from Mexican entrepreneurs to the government. The only local support one of my suppliers got, was a credit of tanks from another member of my cabinet; since I have asked my cabinet members not to lend weapons, because that can mess with the correct accounting of the State.

Colombians kept spending tanks and mercenaries, winning Div 4 too many times, but Mexican advantage was growing closing on the victory:

Colombians were desperate, asking for support that would not come:

Some shouts don’t require translation… My shout was “Colombians asking for a Christmas miracle”; referring to Bord0 shout, which can be translated “I want to enjoy sunrise with Clora (Colombian’s President nickname) at Mexico, drinking rum”

But we were not able to turn the battle around against many Mexicans, including our new 3 Division 3 Gods of War (and a sprinkle of damage from yours truly, weak and penny-pincher non-visa player)

It is the time to congratulate these three new young Gods, also known as “Trio of Aces” and “PowerPuff Girls”:
Galaad Blancas, new GoW, accomplishing the title on the last mini of SEoM’s campaign… so nervous that he forgot to take an screen shot! An expert BH hunter, eBorn in April, so he got to be a GoW in just 8 months in the game…
Salsban, known and polemic Mexican tank, who got to be GoW in the SEoM’s campaign too… He did took an screen shot to brag about it… and yesterday, afterwards, got into Division 4. Be careful, Mexican enemies, we do have more tanks now spanning all 4 divisions…
Salsban was also born in April, getting to GoW in just 8 months
• But even among Gods, there was a Hero of SEoM… Without him, maybe the end result would have different… He had an amazing day, not just becoming the youngest GoW in eMexican history (in less than 7 months in the game)… He also got the Campaign Hero (his first, with a few BH to top), and not just that, he got to first place on Mexican news with a non-war article, battling side to side with other newspapers… The Great Yaoteotl, Hero of SEoM on the Gods day.

Translation note: Is not that hard to pronounce… It can be said YAO – TE (as in term) – oth (as in Othello) –LLLLLL

But we didn’t stop supporting our allies meanwhile; a nice example was Capitan Sevilla which turned around the D3 bar to win the mini and finish the RW of Peru which warranties they are having Congress this month (and robbing Peruvian president from a BH by the way)

Now, the bad news: Colombia is a great opponent, they have won the respect of many (even EDEN just accepted them, finally, as a full member)… While they spent too much for my taste, they have fought to the end, defending their country as great warriors.

On December 17th, they were without regions; but on the 18th, they not just liberated Caribe e Insular from Mexico, they also did liberate Amazonica from Brazil… And then on the 20th, they took Cundiboyacense (nicknamed Cundi for obvious reasons, even in Spanish) from Spain.

If you see the map, note Cundi at the time didn’t get any borders with other countries than Spain. Since Spain already was on NE against Philippines, nobody was able to attack Colombia until Philippines were erased from the map or 7 days had passed…

So if Mexico attacked CeI too soon, we would have lost border with Colombia and the NE. In fact, that happened to Brazil, who attacked Amazonica on the 20th but lost the NE because, meanwhile, the intended liberation of Andina from Spain was stopped by Colombia and their allies so the 21st the NE of Brazil was deactivated.

http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/news/military/Colombia/2

Strategy was working well for Colombia… If Andina was not liberated between the 23rd and yesterday the 24th, there would not be any chance of leaving Colombia without a Congress. So our priority was to liberate Andina, but it was clear Colombia intends to waste any money that is needed and pay for many mercenaries, to stop Andina’s RW from being successful.

So on the 23rd I coordinated with Spain and Brazil, to plan on a successful RW in Andina, as our first priority in this war, allowing for the Colombian territories to be connected, thus being able to reach the very hidden Cundi, and then erasing Colombia in time to prevent them from having Congress; not to say, that would allow Brazil to return to Asia.

We foresaw the need of dividing Colombia’s damage, making them prioritize CeI, and that was successful. We didn’t expect a lot of support on an offensive war, particularly since there were multiple CoT – EDEN war fronts. So I decided to take the chance of going for CeI sooner than we were rested and armed, attacking without giving supplies or hiring mercenaries, on holiday time so a lot of Mexicans would not be in the game (and all tired from the big campaign on the 22nd). Since Mexico had the initiative, I could have waited to launch the attack up to the 25th… But that would have been too late to even try to leave them without Congress, and that would have reduced our chances to liberate Andina.

I was naturally criticized for taking the chance (even some critics were, curiously, accusing me of making a deal with Colombia to allow them to have Congress)… But I did communicate the reasoning and risks (and the no-supplies decision), after consulting with our available allies and my team, to both Mexican Congress and MU leaders, about 30 minutes before pushing the attack button:

It is clear we could have won this campaign, by spending a lot of money. My decision was not to spend, specially until we couldn’t confirm the success on Andina, which needed to be won before CeI.

Andina was surprisingly even; for a lot of time, Spain was winning (what Spain and Mexico didn’t want), with Colombian players attacking hard Colombi … But at the end, we got Andina to be released, with a small advantage that I think we can relate with the damage division with the CeI campaign.

Immediately Spain proceeded to open Pacifica’s RW, in order to get the way for Brazil to go to Asia. By this time it was obvious there was not enough time remaining to erase Colombia on time; and turning CeI battle around would have meant to buy mercenaries in a massive effort, in a bad schedule (Christmas Eve for Europe), taking damage out from our allies. Not worth it!

The important accomplishment: Now Brazil could open the NE to Colombia. Too bad that takes 24 hours, but the three countries together, have been able to get Colombia’s President (Clorofila) ma😛

Translation note: Clorofila’s shout says “We shout orders for a reason, we just won Andina, now Brazil is coming…”… Then the answers are “We are not afraid, fight until death”… “Win the war yourself”, “Focus on supplying weapons” and the like

While we were able to make our first priority, happen, it was the time to admit: We (me and my team, then my country and allies) failed to win all campaigns..., thus, Colombia will have a Congress this month.

Fortunately, we have been able to waste Colombia, with Brazil NE over them, it will be easier for Mexico to contain them without spending our treasury, while Colombia has spent most of theirs.

A summary from 3 of the related Presidents: Citizens had a hard time following orders (as usual, particulary on RWs), particularly when not reading the orders… I am glad Mexican citizens followed the priorities right, even when they were not happy with a “losing” strategy. As I have said, the cost of winning was not responsible in my humble presidential opinion…

Clorofila shout was already discussed, Kuervo is the President of Spain, worried about Andina taking too much time (more than 24 hours) to be released, due in part to many Spanish players fighting for Spain… my comment mentions that time was even when most Colombian damage was moved to CeI…

The other good news, is that we did all of this and had lots of fun in the game, without forgetting our CoT allies. The priority #1 in Mexico’s MoD orders, was all day to support Indonesia against Croatia, and with an epic battle, it was WON:

In previous days our people has been fighting for other allies, for example for UK and USA, against Portugal and Taiwan. I have to mention our USA relations, both as a country (Mexico) or as an alliance (CoT), have been improving:

http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-state-big-thanks-to-cot--2181024/1/20

To finish, I don’t like to lose campaigns, but I have to recognize a GREAT ENEMY, COLOMBIA, who is helping Mexico to grow and still be humble… We are not a super power, we are not able to conquer and sustain an empire. But we are going in the right direction to be a sustainable strong country, not based on a President-centered model (as usual in Mexico), but on much better team work. Too bad Colombia is stubborn to stay with the dying EDEN, if not, with the growing mutual respect we could evolve to a more friendly relationship, maybe change these wasting wars to collaborative wargames…

But be warne😛 If you think you will gain Mexican original regions… That will not happen… There we will spend if necessary…

Mexican economy (vs. Colombian)

A very executive summary: Colombia’s BoG mentions they have invested A HECK OF A LOT on weapons and damage

http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/sintesis-semanal-y-feliz-navidad-2181672/1/20

Since they don’t report hard numbers, we can estimate by seeing the recent donations from their Congress, a total of $700,000 CC:

http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Colombia/121095
http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Colombia/120898

Their bank’s balance has been healthy, since taxes in Colombia are high and they have been saving; but lately, we have seen a diminishing tren😛

http://www.erepublik.com/en/economy/citizen-accounts/1583388

So we can compare their spendiing of at least $700,000 (plus Warzilla’s AME😵 with Mexican Budget of about $120,000 spent so far in the war, NOT REQUIRING CONGRESS DONATIONS! You can see a difference on policies and what will happen if the war doesn’t end soon… Colombia will lose for lack of money…

I am glad Mexico is no longer on the other side, as it happened a few months ago, when former governments wasted more than $1 Million CC trying to win imposible wars. DEFENDING DOESN’T JUSTIFY BANKRUPTING THE COUNTRY, that is a short-sighted strategy, is better to be patient. We continue a healthy recovery, with a balanced budget due to the many MPPs we have signed and our low tax rates (exporters, Mexican market is growing and now it is way cheaper to sell on it).

This Santa Claus is a penny-pincher, so don’t expect gifts

Remembering Mexicans to vote for good Congress members, from any party but careful with Tos as usual, will see you defending the country against the few Colombians that are not on vacation

I send you my best regards for these festivities, hoping you are lucky to enjoy delicious food and the company of families and friends.
