Southern, Central, SouthEast and East Europe Battlefield

The Patchwork Puzzle, United Colors of Benetton or Jacuzzi Party?

If you take a look at the battlefield in Europe, especially in the part of Europe where major eRepublik powers & superpowers collide in Balkans region, it looks like chaos and mess quite difficult to disentangle...

On the first look it might seem as a patchwork like this:

On the second look might seem like a United Colors of Beneton commercial...

And on the third look, it might look like half of the eRepublik World is having a wild party in a jacuzzi...

The Country Crowd

Actually, it's more than half, almost 60% (58% to be more precise) of the eWorld squeezed in cca 30% of the territory of Europe (and a bit of Asian part of Turkey). Almost everyone is represented here: 43 out of 74 countries in eRepublik:

Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Austria
Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria
Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates
.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. If I have, please, correct me...

Europe

And outside of the 25 host countries:
Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany,
Greece, Hungary, Italy, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova,
Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine
, there are
15 other countries crashing at their hosts...

Like our European friends from the West and more to the North: Ireland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom

Americas

Our Latin American guests:
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Cuba.

Asia

Our guests from Central Asia, as well as from the Middle and Far East:
Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates.

Africa

And of course our guests from Africa: Nigeria and South Africa.

Alliance Count: 9/10

Not only there is a bunch of countries from at leat 4 continents in the region, they are of course part of the bigger picture, the alliances... Out of 10 active Alliances in eRepublik, 9 are present in this part of Europe shown on the map plus neutral countries of course. And it's questionable whether you could really count Lazocrats and Banana as real alliances, since they contain a single country each and for an alliance you need allied countries, so I didn't count them as such...

Alliance Sagas

So is there any sense in this mess? Perhaps a story that this map could tell?
Actually there is... A neverending story...
Well, it's more like a saga...

The picture becomes a bit clearer when we visualize this map on the alliance level:

I mean eRepublik wars are all about the control of territory, resources and last, but not the least, gold.

So, which alliance is controlling what?

White Code

After being wiped out of the map earlier in August, the Code countries (in White color) are getting back on the map and mostly controlling or regaining control of their theritories. Currently the Code is fully controling territories of Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and partially Czech Republic (a neutral country) and relatively small parts of France, which is fighting against Romanian invasion and Greece, which is currently in the most difficult position on this part of map, with only one region on the map (on the territory of also neutral Slovakia), waiting to be fully restored on the map in its original territories... What's not visible on this map, but large parts of Russia, which is also a part of Code alliance is under occupation by Asteria and Hydra (Far East Russia region is still holding). For consolation, the Code is also in control of the Nothern parts of Serbia with their Capital Belgrade. It seems as a good sattisfaction for the time most code countries' players were on the Summer holidays. Now they are back.

Red Asteria

In the right (red) corner is Asteria. Lead by Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania, Asteria is in control of Romania, most of central and Southern Serbia, most of Moldova, a few regions of Bulgaria, small part of Ukraine, and they are occupying the whole territory of Greece and the most of France.

Orange Hydra

Hydra countries (in orange), which are pro-Asteria control North Macedonia and hold part of Ukraine and occupy significan parts of Russia (Code).

Yellow Dwarf

Dwarf countries (in yellow), which are pro-Code, control Montenegro (Montenegro and Georgia for help and a training war).

Gray Neutral Countries (and Banana)

The countries in gray color on the map are neutral and mostly busy with Training Wars. They control territories of Albania, Turkey, most of the Italy, Germany (Banana solo country Alliance), Switzerland, Czech Republik, Eastern Slovakia and Western Ukraine (Galicia and Ludomeria region).

Pacifica Blue

Pacifica countries (in blue) are kind of neutral but formally forming an alliance for mutual protection and controlling Austria, part of Switzerland (Deutschschweitz), parts of central Italy (Lazio, Umbria regions) and a region in Ukraine (Subcarpathia).

Black Wolf

The (Black) Wolf countries (UAE, Japan, Nigeria, also Pakistan) are somewhere between being neutral and pro-Code and holding two regions in Italy (Veneto by UAE, Calabria by Nigeria), a region in Moldova (Chisinau by Japan) and Poland (Little Poland by UAE).

Orion Dirty White

There is one more alliance present here on the map, Orion, which is kind of pro-Code, being on standby and holding Italian region Abruzzo (held by Cuba).

Who is Missing?

Bimbadaboom, it's The alliance of the great bimbadaboom!

I would also like to invite The alliance of the great bimbadaboom!, the only alliance missing to join the party... Because, why not? But somehow I doubt that Singapore, being the only member of that alliance and ranked 73 place out of 74, could have the power needed, but hey, I'm sure everything can be organized, even that...

Or Welcome, too, Bada Bing. Everything's on the house!

Rotation Tactics

Somewhere in the meantime, between the point I temporarily left the game 5 years ago and now, from the tactical point of view, although the game mechanics stayed the same, there have been some innovations in the game play on the alliance level. Originally it was used first by Asteria alliance and has been named Rotation or Recycling tactics, but has been also adopted by Code later and successfully used on the battlefield.

The tactics comes as a solution to the main problem with territorial conquests in eRepublik as the game has been originally designed and played at first. In order to keep the things interesting and also more profitable for the owner of eRepublik, the determination concept has been added earlier to the game. This would help the weaker countries that have been conquered by a stronger country or alliance to recover by adding the determination factor to the battles of each region. The longer the region stayed conquered, the higher the determination factor on the weaker/resistance side helping the liberation of the region. That meant it was basically improbable to hold any region for too long and impossible to hold it occupied forever.

The Rotation or Recycling tactics found a solution for that proble on the level of alliance. Since a lot of the time there is a need for some training wars and resistance wars are hard to control and kind of unpredictable, why not to organize a training war on occupied territory? You simply agree with one (o more) of your allies to join the fight on the occupied territory, being in neighborhood or thruogh an airstrike. You kill more than one bird with this stone. Each ping-pong battle in this Training War (TW) resets the determination to 1.0, making the resistance and liberation of the region very hard with a relatively weaker or moderate force, which enables your alliance to share and control the region together. You also don't need to waste your core regions for training wars, which is an added benefit making your core regions more stable for trading and production... And it's easier to build an empire conquering and keeping control over occupied regions...

It's also possible to oganize it with more than one allied country where 3 or more countries take turn on controlling the region in a round robin fashion...

Well, that would conclude my analysis of this part of the map and European battlefields...

The Rest of the eWorld

For the situation on the battlefields in the rest of the eRepublik eWorld, I would recommend you the article WHPR 5782: The State of the New World by James S. Brady Press Room.

End of CODE? - Interview with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SoFA) of CODE alliance!

There is also an interesting article bringing you an interview with JOy13x, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SoFA) of CODE alliance, title😛
End of CODE? - Interview with the SoFA of CODE alliance!!

Personally, although the article was interesting to me, the comments were actually even more interesting, so don't miss them if interested in the topic.

Some Things Never Change

Since I have been absent from eRepublik for five years, so have been out of touch with the military/strategic/alliances situation, perhaps you could help me fill the gaps on whre are the Training Wars and what regions and resources have been rented... When I returned back in February, nothing made any sense to me, the alliances have changed, the allied countries have changed sides. I remember earlier the USA and Romania being on the same side as Croatia, Hungary being on the opposite side. Now that's reversed... It seems some things never change, like Croatia vs. Serbia, Hungary vs. Romania, Greece vs. Turkey, mostly for historic reasons, I believe.

A Little Pond, a Lot of Crocodiles

However, it seems to me that a lot of damage gets wasted in the Balkans region without any long-term effect.

In this region we have this saying: A Little Pond, a Lot of Crocodiles.
Something like this...

We don't have crocodile farms in this reguin, but we have a song about that proverb...

South-East Europe reminds me of that these days...

Does it have to be like that? Couldn't we play it smarter?

With some negotiations about zones of interest, perhaps NAP of some kind, with free trade agreements, or even, God forbid!, a Balkan alliance, maybe we could all play this game smarter, as spending hundreds and thousands of Euros on Packs and using server multi armies isn't getting anyone anywhere, except perhaps eRepublik Labs, but I doubt that, as well...

At the time of writing of this article there are 225 battles active.
There is total of 2250 Battle Hero & Sky Hero medals being made at the moment.
There are currently 1427 eRepublik players online in the eWorld.

That's 7.5 Gold per player on average. And that's only for this current 2 hours. That would be 90 Gold per player per day if distributed evenly...

Think about that...

450 Sky Hero Medals worth of 4500 Gold.
1800 Battle Hero Medals (Div 1 - Div 4) worth of 6300 Gold :
450 Battle Hero Div 1 medals: 900 Gold
450 Battle Hero Div 2 medals: 1350 Gold
450 Battle Hero Div 3 medals: 1800 Gold
450 Battle Hero Div 4 medals: 2250 Gold

So , what would be a smarter way to distribute the spoils of war?

The best result comes from everyone in the group doing what is best for himself and the group.

Clear?
Or to put it simpler...

If we all go for the blonde and block each other, not a single one of us is going to get her. So then we go for her friends, but they will all give us the cold shoulder because no on likes to be second choice. But what if none of us goes for the blonde? We won't get in each other's way and we won't insult the other girls. It's the only way to win. It's the only way we all get laid.

Now let's apply this to SH & BH hunting...

A tip: If you perhaps have some old eRepublik Anniversary gifts burried somewhere deep in your email spam, try this link: erepublik.com/en?checkEmailReward=1. I was cleaning my gmail account today and found an email from 2017 for eRepublik's 10 Anniversary so I got 10 gold and 10 Energy Bars today. It's not a lot, but it's nice to get... At least it's free and perhaps it makes you feel a bit better after spending your hard earned fortune on Power Spin... 😉

Weekly Damage Distribution

It is a well known fact that there is a large Epic Battle at the beginning of the week on Tuesday soon after the day change (morning if you live in Europe, Africa of the Middle East, or the middle of the night if you happen to live in Americas, or probably somewhere in the afternoon if you live in Asia or Australia)...

When exactly? Well in the first 2 hours of the day, I'd say...

Then everyone who is up for the Weekly Challenge gives everything they have in order to get an early start in the Prestige Points, Energy Bars and Energy Recovery points scavenger hunt...

And then during the week perhaps there is or there isn't another smaller and shorter epic or two, which you might catch or you might not... And there is not much happening except that... It's like a ghost city... The damage gets dispersed in hundreds of battles and thousands of rounds among the diligent Sky Hero flyers and heavy Tanks Battle Hero Hitters interrupted only by their quarrels and complaints about stolen medals and medal stealing attempts in the long thread of posts with the list of medals won...

But how big that damage is compared to the rest of the week?

LinoHUN from eSlovakia brings in in his article titled Military This & That (Hadügyi ez meg az) the data from Weekly Leaderboards together with the data analysis:

Top Countries Weekly Damage - Tuesday, Day 5775, at 1:36

Top Countries Weekly Damage at the end of the Week - Monday Day 5783, at 16:13

LinoHUN: "I have noticed an interesting phenomenon recently:

The first picture shows the previous week's tank damage, about 1.5 hours after the change of week. And here is all the damage of the week. What is striking is that more damage was done in the first 1.5 hours than in the rest of the week. To be exact, the further damage during the week is 98% for the first 1.5 hours. It seems that this is not a unique phenomenon, for the Poles it is a golden 54% (hardly half as much dmg as what goes into the epic battle on Tuesday morning), for the Bulgarians the ratio is better, here it is 221%. There was no event last week, so this can be considered a normal week. It is interesting how much damage is done in the first 1-2 hours."

Beside that LinoHun also compared the weekly damage done by Asteria vs. the damage done by Code:

"I looked at Asteria and Code damage yesterday. The superiority is quite overwhelming: in the air +66% the superiority of Asteria, in the ground D4 +61%."

Till the next time...
Work hard, play smart!

Sincerely Yours,
Janko Fran
