Good Day and welcome to UK Today!

THE NEWS

The Ministry of Home Affairs is back for another month and there are some minor changes to UK Today to announce-

First up, the articles will be every day, with all the regular features you're used to, plus some extras.

It'll be used to inform you all of the CP's daily update, allowing everyone in the eUK to read and understand what's going on without having to look on the external forum (which is great, but not for everyone, we know.)

We'll have promotions of some games that'll be starting up on said forums, at least one of which will have a £1000+ prize! Be sure to join up for a chance to win a boatload.

Finally there'll be a 'tip of the day,' a handy piece of advice to help you along.

On another note, we've just had the country president elections. The results were as follows:

Kevy Kev Kev Junior Shabado- 291- 43.3%
Betafoxtrot- 167- 24.85%
Daeres- 135- 20.09%
Eno Live- 57- 8.48%
Matt Smidley- 22- 3.27%

Showing that Kevy was a clear winner by over 100 votes in the end. Congratulations to Kevy and comiserations to the other candidates. Hopefully you'll be able to try again another time!

Politics in this country are a great way to get involved with the community- whether that be with a political party or as part of government.

Incidentally, ministry applications are now open for several teams, including our very own MoHA! Please check out the threads on the forums (link near the bottom) and see if any jobs pique your interest. If you have political ambition or simply want to serve your country, this is a great way to do so.

THE CP'S UPDATE:

Hello and welcome to my first report as Prime Minister. Before I start I'd like to say thanks to Thorrold for having a great 1.5 months and for leaving the country in such a good state for me. I hope myself becoming Prime minister does not ruin this but we'll just have to wait and see over the next 30 days.

I have released my cabinet in an article here. I've received a lot of remarks about some of the members of cabinet so far, that is to be expected. I picked the people I thought were best from my applications along with the feedback from others. If you don't like like someone don't let that be the reason behind you think they'll be a bad minister. I wouldn't have picked any of these people if I wasn't aware of their potential. If you still want to complain then you can do so on IRC but be warned I've probably heard the same thing 100 times already today. 😛

MoHA and MoFA apps are up. New or old I'd advise applying for jobs here since both ministries require a fair amount of people throughout the month. It's also great experience for your eCV and a great way to help out the country. If you are new I'd suggest going for the Ministry of Home Affairs, if you want to make a lot of new friends I'd suggest the MoFA since we have a new ambassador movement there this month.

Today I've been all over the place sorting things out. I think we're ready now with the exception of the MoD who is now waiting for Rawdon to sort something minor out. Over the next few days you should start seeing threads pop up for the MoHA that involve those fun forum games and you'll also see a new thread from emergy detailing the new scheme we have this month. Please bear with us whilst we set up though as there is still a lot to be done first.

I can't go a whole first report without speaking about Ireland. A RW in Louth was opened up earlier and we seem to be doing pretty well winning 6-1 at the time of writing. This should easily be won in the morning I think as we're not seeing a lot of damage put into it. I have also pushed buttons for the first time this month and attacked Cork. The battle was started at this time because Croatia were busy in Central Hungary and now Bulgaria is busy in Hungary again. Things started off great but we have however just lost a very close 4th Battle so we're now only winning 3-1. We seem to have the same guy who was tanking 1m per mini battle a few days ago up to his regular antics today which is fairly annoying. We should hopefully win this but with most of us asleep and ONE's damage directed at Hungary we might lose. It's not a big deal yet though.

Onto domestics and the MoHA has made a great start to the term. Today they've released this article which is the first of many throughout the month. Talon informs me that along with the MoHA subforum being cleared out the new players for today have been messaged so all daily tasks have been complete. The MoHAs have also been discussing a flexible budget to use with GBP making it's way there.

Tomorrow I plan to release a new welcome message and get that out of the way, as well as speaking to Ireland to see what they're new administration is like. I'm going to try and speak more to some of our allies too since I was fairly busy today and only spoke to a select few.

I'm hoping that I can deliver a win in Ireland otherwise I'll be a sad panda when I wake up later today.

- Kevy

PS. MoR is still open for apps. I'm not in for "oh anyone will do" though because that is lame. I'll choose someone if I find them good enough to run the Ministry.
