I'm not gonna say "OHMAIGERDVOTEFORMELOLOLOL".
That's IBB's job.
I don't want to be the one you choose simply because it's what the party wants you to do, or because you know my name. If I'm going to win, it's because I have the best cabinet, plan, and skills to execute my goals. If I lose, then hopefully the victor is the correct choice. Either way, make the best decision.
This is why I've adopted a no-mudslinging campaign. It's pretty simple. First of all, this is a game. Why act like pricks? There's no need. By mudslinging, I don't mean intelligent arguments, because discussion and debates are always welcome and helpful. I mean simply straight up hate and distaste. Not only is this a game, we're all Canadians. There is not a true Canadian amongst us that does not want the best for this country, and liberation from this great struggle we're in. We may have different opinions, but can't we discuss them civilly? The crap ideas will go down the shaft, and the cream will rise to the top, as it usually does. Just be nice
I've announced my candidacy. I've mentioned the great plans I have for this country. I've flaunted the wonderful people I'm hoping to work with. Frankly, I think I've said all I needed to say. Yet, I feel like writing just once more. I dunno, guess it's just a force of habit as a writer. Everyone gets an itch, non?
If there's anything I never talked about, it's why I'm running in the first place. I have a nice and cozy life as a MoFA and frequent writer. CPs sometimes go through hell during their presidency. And our current situation doesn't really scream 'easy come easy go', does it? I could spend my days as a well-respected, generally well-received MoFA, and I would be all the better for it.
First, I suppose the time is right, both from a real life and experience perspective. I finally am free from the oppressive regime of school, so I can essentially be on anytime I'm awake. I've also developed enough practice in foreign affairs to be confident in leading this country. I don't mind losing the election, as long as the country heads on the right path. But I'm confident that I can be the one to make all your sorrows undone
Second, I have tons of ideas to improve the country internally, which helps to build up a liberation movement. We can't hope to beat Spain if we're not even settled in our home, can we? This means updating the battle order newspaper, regular updates both by me and Dozzer, and as much communication in battles via the shouts and IRC as possible. I know this very basic stuff, but we have to have a good base to build upon, right? Communication, communication, communication.
Next, foreign affairs. I intend to stay the course and stick with our brothers in Asgard. How can we abandon our allies during a time of need? And more importantly, where the hell would we go anyway? CoT? Jeez, can't you see how busy they are already? There are plenty of swell nations in CoT, but they can't deal with us right now anyway. Besides, if we left our alliance, do you honestly think they'd want a nation that runs away once the going gets tough? No, we remain to our Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish brothers ^.^
Other countries are our great friends the Dutch. They want to be in Asgard, non? I can see why Sweden and Finland are a bit hesitant to bring them in. However, Norway, another country that has struggled often, sees no problem with their application, and neither do I. We will discuss the logistics and the possible issues with bringing the Netherlands into Asgard, but frankly, I'm very for bringing Netherlands into Asgard. We shall see
(On a sidenote, come live with us Netherlands! Just liberate us first XD)
Then there are the Irish, who have been close kin for many moons. And this certainly will not change during my presidency. Friendly countries will remain friends, large or small. Our friends, the French, and the Italians, who warmly extended a hand of friendship, are willing to stand by our side, and we should theirs as well. And don't forget about our pact of friendship with Croatia. Their support has always been much appreciated, and I look forward to continuing to work with both Croatia and their close friends, the Albanians and Bosnians.
And let's not forget about CoT. We have varying amounts of relations with the various members, but no Canadian can laugh off how wonderful Russia has been in supporting both ourselves and most especially the Swedes, Finns, and Norwegians, our brothers. And we have been continuously working with the Americans, whom took it upon themselves to help the liberation movement. I will work to strengthen the renewed friendship we have between our two nations, supporting them in their time of need as they will in ours. And Bulgaria. Our dear friends of a day past, we happily await fighting by your side once more.
Support our allies, my friends. But at a certain point, we have to think of ourselves as well. In addition to signing MPPs with our friends both as an act of friendship as well as support for freedom, I have been working with some of my cabinet in a plan to liberate our nation once more, and give Spain a bloodbath that would make serial killers cry tears of joy. Seriously, we have 4 or 5 plans written up already.
Until that time comes, we shall continue fighting the good fight for our allies, both to help them and to give us a chance when our time is here. And when it's here, you can damn be sure that Spain will pay. Pay dearly.

- the going has always been tough in Asgard for us. I think other would understand as a lot of countries are finding a new place in the eWorld right now. Also if we left Asgard I would hope it would be after we had already been in talks with CoT to join them.

hmm sounds like we are getting more help from CoT then from our own alliance. We got good and strong friends in CoT so why are we so opposed to joining them again???
Though we may have a couple CoT countries that supported us, that does not speak for CoT as a whole. There are more countries in CoT that aren't actively aiding us than those that are.
World Wars usually end up in a "Us vs. Them", we're definitely not TWO, and CoT is not TWO. I wouldn't be surprised if "CoT/A" sprung up (like T/EDEN, once upon a time). I'm quite sure that Asgard is willing to cooperate with CoT in military efforts in a war against TWO.

You know how it goes...
Couldn't agree with you more on alliance loyalty and on the eNL. An ally isn't an ally if you can't be sure when they'll toss you aside or turn on you. We aren't worth much as an ally either if others need to wonder about that with us.
I don't know that much about the MDP except that it was founded by Rylde, so I had to chuckle a bit at the contrast between him and the new face of the MDP. It's a good thing IMO.
