[CP] Office of the President – Weekly Update - eCanada vs. United Kingdom

If you wondered why the air was filled with tank fire and the land strewn with the bodies of the English then you aren't fighting where you should be. Get your tanks and get to the front line.

At approximately 17:00 hours, December 16 eCanada launched an attack against the South West of England in an agreed upon war.

Why now?

There are many reasons for the attack now:
-Poland has been heavily involved in its fighting Turkey and Spain is tied up in South America. It’s nice to have a fight on an equal footing for a change.
-UK has been playing footsie with Germany, while we have been resting.
-Rylde has returned. Like Santa Claus he has brought everyone toys and goodies. Plus if you have seen him in action you know: the man wins wars.
-We have been gathering bazookas and missiles from their missions for almost two months.
-MU funding has resumed.

We needed this fight. As a matter of national pride we needed to go out and blow the unholy hell out of something to show that Canada is not a back-benched nation meant to only provide allied support. I promised that I would bring Canada back into the international community and we have in a big way.

Not without an agenda

The other piece of method to my madness is my own three reasons for this war:

1. I wanted to test our allied support. The talks in Congress have been endless regarding our future alliances. It's one thing to talk about. It's another to ask for it. But when the chips are down you can actually see for yourself who shows up to the battle field. Some of our allies are very visible in this fight, some others are noticeably absent. This has been noted.

2. Our country is like a sports car. You don’t just keep it safe in the garage and wax it on the weekend. You need to get it out on the highway, open it up and see what it can do. Given that we are shopping around for new alliances, do you think they want to see the garage car or the flash that just went blazing down the highway. Now when I approach other nations they will know we are not just a country of words, but a country of action.

3. War drives the eRepublik economy. More war, more tanks used, more tank sales, more cash in your pocket and more tax revenue.

I need to get a watch

My sincere appreciation to Rydle and Venoms for setting me straight about regarding the best time to attack. Going forward the timing of attacks will be better suited for our active fighting community. Apologizes for the five hour delay. Like many things being CP, the learning curve is steep and cannot be easily taught without pain.

Nothing can unite a country like blowing something up real good
