lol. Afaik it's forbidden by our precious law that our dictator fulfills any political function so he should not be allowed to fulfill that job.
That said; Of all the players/departments mentioned; That department/player combo is the only one I don't have doubt's on....

he is not forbidden from doing that.

also what concerns do you have with the people? all of us are experienced government members.

I thought I announced already that I object to his current temporarily filling that position, but understand that on such a short term it would be hard to find other candidates. And that I will start a vote during the CP elections to make the law more in accordance with the referendum, where after all "neutral" meant "independent of the government".

So I hope you have an alternative for that position, as he might not be allowed to take that position.

well he is currently occupying a position that has a "form of power", as MoI the only decisions he can take as minister is do i publish this article now or later.

In the current Law theres nothing on this. If a majority of Congress doesnt want me to help out here, I will ofc resign. I dont see any harm being MoI....

It is about neutrality. And to be honest, if I call it the "ministry of propaganda" (old-fashioned term), than it already sounds like he is completely embedded in the government, instead of neutral...

Being independent journalist is no issue. But the MoI inherently is going to be writing pro-government articles. So I'm not that far off with my above description...

At least it was that way when I visited forum and one of the main reasons to quit politics and forum altogether; Living by a law, created by some old school players and interpreted freely when it comes to their own likings but very strict when it comes to political opponents or players having ideas they don't like.

As for concerns Odan; I have a lot but let me stick to the main part. First off all however; Experience, in my book, is something different than having fulfilled a role in theory but not having actually acted. Let me give an example not regarding your team as that will make it easier for you to get my point... Kordak was MoFa in the current term and has been that on more occasions. That makes him experienced as he scores merit points so to say. He has however delivered nothing when it comes to visibility. At least not when it comes to informing gov/military. And actually the same goes for AM of whom I hardly ever saw results or articles and the articles that were presented concerned pancakes. How serious you think people will look at you if you act childish like that?

As for Tim; On older player of which I hardly ever saw anything. Being MoD will mean you'd need to be very active within the game. I repeat within the game! Why do I repeat? As goes for a lot of players within your surroundings; They ar hardly visible in game. Perhaps on forum or IRC, but not where players will see you and want to hear from you. So Tim also doesn't feel like the right choice. But I may be surprised. That happened once (!) before.

That makes me conclude with yourself; Also invisible in game. Some of the biggest issues you, among others, always had during the days I was politically active with our CPO back then. Who was in fact way more visible and communicative as I ever saw you.

As for you taking the post at MoF; I discussed financial matters with you in the past and read several statement from you on forum on that which made it clear back then the most simple of calculations or financial mechanisms were to difficult for you to comprehend so don't expect me to have any trust on you on that department.

like i said before the law does not forbid the dictator fulfilling a role in the government. is it perfect having him do multiple duties? no, but seeing the steady decline of active people, i'd rather have someone that is active and knows what they do than leaving the position empty or up to someone inactive.

well it's no surprise most of the current government was replaced. although since the cp is also not that active at the moment it didn't really improve matters much.

arcanic was just an advisor to kordak, but since kordak didn't want or didn't care about advise. arcanic didn't really have anything he could do. and yes in the past he did do that whole pancake thing, but that was always with the ok from the CP or in his private paper. other than that he has always performed his activities admirably.

as for tim i'm not sure how you classify being active in-game. is it fighting? well i guess none of us are active currently... he has always done whatever duties were asked of him, in whatever ministry be it defense, home affairs or even as CP.

well you might have that idea of me. but i personally know i am able to do the job, i'm actually involved in finance irl. perhaps i might have scoffed or ridiculed your explanations in the past, but that had probably more to do with them being close to novel material in length.

To be clear in the first place; I have no problem with ElGorro on that spot as if there is one player qualified for it its him. Thing is the dictator needs to be neutral by our law. Being part of anything related to politics, be it gov or be it congress related, will compromise that and therefore is not allowed in my book. But thats the problem around here for ages; There is way to much room (taken) in interpreting our laws.

I was not referring to the role AM had under Kordak as your description perfectly fits the way I expect Kordak to work. I'm referring to AM himself who has been MoFa several times and from who I have seen/experienced his way of working as Gov member and as Commander. I never was impressed and when asking direct questions about situations he never knew or did not respond at all. To me that disqualifies him for that position.

I don't care about Tim currently fighting or not. (given his stats I would even recommend him not to) Its just the fact I hardly ever see him around. Perhaps due to the fact he never accepted a friend request as that doesn't help either. So my doubt is in not knowing.

You stated before you were active in finance and yes my responses become longer if a simple direct statement is not accepted or answered wit stupid arguments. And as you well (should be able to) know you did do just that in the past when it came to budget use/change. Perhaps the confusion/misinterpretation originates in the fact we had a referendum with that outcome and our law isn't rewritten correctly to fit that outcome odan. That would not be a real surprise as that kind of mismatches happen(ed) more often. Something is decided or voted on and the lawbook text isn't made fitting. Re-reading djirtsdew's post makes that a valid assumption I'd say.

You are right Weekstrom. After a debate of 39 pages, a second debate of 15 pages and a third debate of 11 pages, congress decided to get a dictator in the first place, and decide on how the neutrality of the dictator would be shaped if there were going to be any problems in the future. Congress did this to speed up the dictator situation so our country was stable in the short run.

Of course this issue about neutrality of the dictator is since then being adressed multiple times, but congress couldn't decide how this should be done. That is why the law is still the law we implemented when the dictator was installed.

It is sadly impossible to publish the law ingame, but I can quote the relevant bits for you here:

Chapter VI - Dictator, Article 1.2:
The Dictator of the eNetherlands will not execute decisions or power on his own.

Chapter VI - Dictator, Article 2.7:
The Dictator can never simultaneously be a Country President. If someone attains both offices, he must resign one of them.

Those are the only restrictions involving neutrality. In fact, the term neutrality isn't even mentioned in the law.

Congress is still debating what the exact role of the dictator should be. Also a lot of things have changed since the referendum. More and more people leave the game and leave politics or are sceptic about it, which results in decreasing political activity and negativism, which leads to more decreasing activity again.

I was in favor of a completely neutral button pusher dictator, but this means the dictator should be highly active. If the dictator is highly active and his daily job is to execute political decisions, he is also political active. With the dicator we lose one active political player. We need everyone we can get, so that's why I'm now in favor of the dictator being part of the government, but with the restriction of him being more transparent then usual and every decisions should be checked by government and congress.

I am sorry but you need to get your facts right. I have kept my MoFA duty's as formal as it is with the major contribution of articles which has been praised highly with good information and nothing about pancakes I see that you are confused between my personal articles and the MoFA articles which has a clear difference. Most articles came out of the MoFA newspapers was from me which gives our citizens a clear info on the surroundings of the world et cetera alongside a planned big 4 piece article of Alliances as soon as i get my pass for December.

I always answer question directed at me which I have provided enough information and I always respond, I don't know why you are making such lies but I have always communicated with my government and allies of clear instructions from the CP. Well first off all; It is about my view isn't it as it are my doubts of which odan asked me to explain them.

Second; I have been part of govs several times when you were MoFa. There never was information let alone results.
I have been commander for ages. Several times with you at the helm of MoFa. Questions asked in the chat were most of the time not answered or the answer was admitted to be not known. Also information about where alliance/friendship of eNL was going to was never shared while that is of the utmost importance if you want MoFa and MoD to be aligned. If you don't get that its even worse than I thought.

The most info about foreign politics and direction has always come from the CP in cases where you were MoFa. Even when I addressed you directly.

All information on terms of miltary has been passed to my colleagues in Ministry of Defence who controls the military and who should be contacting you as they deal with Military affairs and I only deal with Diplomatic affairs and not miltary. Any military messages I have receieve I always pass it on to the MoD but also inform VP via in game group message and forum

At that when we had Germany attacked it is impossible to complete the list as we yet to see who is and who is not. This was also handed to my successor the following month and a ss for that I was given different priorities who I have obeyed and done such as Hungary friendship of securing our regions back. Bear in my mind Hungary mostly contact me which I always inform government

I have always informed my government members of foreign affairs situations which I have come up across. That is seriously a bad accusation of me not doing anything for the country and government.

There is a way of MoFA informing the military but via the Ministry of Defence who controls this area from there I pass on messages through the MoD to setup plans and orders et cetera.

I was asked by odan why I doubted his team Legendardisch. To that I responded. In AM's case its the fact I don't have the experience he actually delivers. Some would have been way worse but I expect more from someone at that position.
Then again; Those are my doubts, experience with him and my view/doubt as a result which odan asked me to express.

At some point I will try and figure out how to contribute to the community. Right now too much RL duties to sort out. I kinda have been trying to figure out something totally un official eNL related article.
