Read comments for why TRS sucks
Sir Humphrey Appleby
Afternoon folk o/
I was going to write a Woldesque polemic but after a walk with the dog and a hearty argument with one of the regulars on how shite the irl country’s going to: i.e. bad or worse;
I wonder instead - I imagine if/when Huey releases his usual shizzle against an old irl friend Mantle from over a decade ago when I was a fairly new punter here myself, given we go to the polls tomorrow ask a few questions for the rest of us to answer ourselves:
-What would you like to see/expect more of from gov? Prios probably helpful here
-How do you think it could be easily made/structured to help you/others do it?
-What steps could be taken to ‘bridge the gap a bit’ between the two main camps that broadly seem to refuse to cooperate/work in gov with the other?
And on a slightly unrelated but nevertheless interested poll if you’d allow:
-How do you feel about the eUK coming out of self-imposed isolation in terms of NI/Brazil etc?
As always, hope you’re well! Cheers for any comments discussing anything above ^

Entertain me junior!
Ha
To be fair, TRS candidates have had no problem having other party members in the cabinet. And Huey just doesn't have a cabinet most of the time.

One of my favourite OG SHA quotes too.
A good article, although most of those have been answered so many times. Can basically just check previous manifestos for priorities, we do policy giveaways, people have said hundreds of times in Congress that they want a more active Government that actually gives proper and regular updates to the people who elect them.
Well fair, but I wonder how many applied this month for any roles? The impression I've got even when I was in cab was nobody was interested (sorry if that isn't the case)
Being a minister for huey is like having the invisible man as a guest, you hardly know it's happening. There's a leadership deficit and too much trashy behaviour has gone on unchallenged so it's hardly surprising there's not a queue to help out. Candidates with more vim and vision inevitably will get more people interested in helping deliver it. On the other hand, signing up to deliver nothing is a bore
Some interest, but not as much as there used to be.
Would you mind elaborating on said trashy behaviour?
Literally you
At least there was any behaviour then 😛
Are you ever going to get over it tho - sorry for your size
It's interesting to see a total change of prospective.
But I'm afraid polls are not loved 😅
There are, I think, a lot of views and ideas easily found but not always the action taken to deliver it. You have been the exception to the rule as MoFa I think 🙂
One suggestion for bridging the gap is for the self titled cabal to engage more seriously with the questions raised and policies suggested by other parties rather than just keep the seem people in post because reasons. There's no end of suggestions for what we could be doing in the media and indeed articles about what isn't working well, but they aren't engaged with. Hoarding power for the sake of it has driven the acrimony between 'the two camps'for twelve months. People without ideas should let those who do have a shot at running the gaff rather than asking for help thinking of things, in my honest view.
same people*
I think that's just democracy for you tbh; there's no suggestion of anything other than that being the 'right to rule' so to speak - if someone were to launch a dictatorship I expect 95% of the eUK would unite against it
In terms of ideas, I actually have to agree although in a roundabout sense here. I was rather annoyed the main bloc backing Huey did not see the logic of closer ties with Brazil so was happy disco'ing the parliament floor and was happy to see it passed
Well right to rule is exactly the problem, even an article such as this is framed as 'let's help the forever president along a bit', I find it bizarre. No one has a right to be president or is owed support, too much social capital has been scorched by huey and co, my suggestion is if you wanna see ideas and priorities then people with none shouldn't be nominated for president.
The place is barmy that a group of semi retired PPs want to keep the result every month even when across the lot of them no one has an idea as to what they might be doing nor have they read ideas published by others. That's without talking about multis and dodgy behaviour which only Keith has the decency to condemn.
We should expect a lot more of Governments and expect to see a lot more get done in a term, which is a month long, not a year long as some like to believe...
Well a few points here I guess;
I consider right to rule as whoever wins the election, which I think is fair 😛
This isn’t really an article about how to help the president but the TRS’s and Huey camps perceived calcification on areas of obvious common ground.
It’s pretty obvious I’m too controversial to return to cabinet so I wouldn’t worry about a surprise pikachu post election day
What do you mean by perceived calcification?
Well I'd invite anyone reading this to come up with their own conclusions really 😛
[removed]
Well they'll have to come to their own conclusions because it's as clear as calcium salts
Well it just seems bizarre at this point you're angry at the democratic module for 'doing it's thing', other than letting TRS experiment a bit even as a minority
Again, don't really know where you're getting that from
Then why are you angry with Huey's repeated re-election?

You have described me as saying one thing than quoted something different - you know everyone can see my comments right
Well you've always been something of a naked elitist Wolders - that you remain out of gov for it is one redeeming quality of all of this
My state of undress is hardly relevant.
I'm quite confident your spicy characterisation of me is not shared by many people. If you're ever interested my paper describes far more compelling examples of elitism
I believe you can take your allegory and shove it up your verbatim, with added extra insult to your insuffurable proverbial as latterly expected xD
You’re really committing to this legit Humphrey Appleby role play
Interesting to describe ranting at strangers as an argument with a regular. And I wouldn’t worry about Huey’s manifesto, assuming ChatGPT hasn’t gone down I’m sure we’ll get another one, with more lit emojis than you can possibly bare 🔥💯
Oh no, they're an excellent kisser given the Brighton context that may require MIK to have an early lie down
But I don't understand the second half of your post tbh
Which part is troubling you? It’s a correct sentence so is there something more you’re fishing at?
Well If you're accusing him of being God-Emperor HueyBot, I made that joker first 😛
No, just old fashioned laziness and creative bankruptcy, what else would you call using an ai chat bot to write your manifestos for you?
having known him since before his first cp medal, that is genuinely his style I guess
Objectively untrue and a bizarre claim to make when anyone can look through his previous articles. It’s incredible obvious when suddenly you introduce “the United Kingdom (eUK)” half way through when you’ve been referencing the eUK as the United Kingdom the whole time previous, and the dispassionate and robotic language, trying to force some life into it by using emojis. I can hardly blame him though, when you can get away with doing nothing for years and still get voted in then why try and be original.
Well given you can do it for years and still not be elected, I'm sure you have logical/coding experience here explaining Huey's oppresive tactics behind it Beta
I'm sure it's hard to imagine but I didn't play eRep for 10 years so I'll grant you it's near on impossible to get elected when you're not even logging in. As for the second half, you've lost me. Not sure where "oppresive" tactics came into it, and even more confused by where coding came into things lmao
Are you saying you didn't go into your last run genuinely believing you'd be elected? If so, and if you have no cause to play, why Beta?
Am I being gaslit now? I’d be interested to hear where you think I’ve said that lmao
The emojis are my favourite part

"What would you like to see/expect more of from gov? "
1) Zero taxes on everything. Work, Imports,...
2) As the average mental age of the politicos appears to be 5 the the government should strive to be good children - seen, not heard.
The average level of the politicos isn't much higher, to be fair. If they had put as much effort into the military module as they have into talking, eUK would be a pretty formidable force
I prefer talking though
What steps could be taken to ‘bridge the gap a bit’ between the two main camps that broadly seem to refuse to cooperate/work in gov with the other?
You are the gap. So apologising would probably help
I'm sorry for the gap in my trousers perhaps, lockdown was fairly savage
But given I haven't been active in gov I can't accept this as an argument
You literally said Addaway was your choice for a compromise speaker because you refused to see the other side
