Huey George for CP - Cabinet and Manifesto
Huey George
For the Country Presidency elections tomorrow
Introduction
As always I would like to begin by expressing with some respect and admiration for my opponent, Betafoxtrot. Again he served admirably as the Minister of Education and presents a viable alternative for the position of Country President.
Healthy competition triumphs once again leading to diverse perspectives to help determine the best course of action for our nation.

after my manifesto if you haven't already.
This time it does feel like a real choice between our current strong independent United Kingdom, where a geo-political savvy Government, can maintain a good freedom of choice in who we host in our cores and who we hold training wars with versus an uncharted, undefined (potentially exciting) defensive alliance.
Any alliance arrangement would inviably lead to mutual defense obligations, conflict and hopefully a measure of extra defense however at the cost of a restriction of choices in terms of training war partners. As a reminder our neutrality is a key reason we've got a number of our training wars.
Make no mistake the UK is in a somewhat unique place geo-politically, sure it comes with risk however an undefined defensive alliances does too. Various nations have had similar choices recently. It's not a new thing. We shouldn't naively change this on a political whim without sufficient consideration and consultation with our citizens.
Personally I'm led by our citizens and Congressional Representation and I don't see the demand for this from our "hardest hitting citizens" and MU commanders. Saying that I've flown and fought on the ground to deliver significant damage on numerous occasions for numerous Country Presidents and if we've got a collective will to change I'll be there with everything I can contribute.
I would only be hesitant if we aren't commitment 100% as a nation, words are easy (we all can write reams of them), real meaningful and impactful actions are harder, bringing less to the table than others in a mutual defence alliance should not be an option.
Manifesto Pledges and New Schemes
Beyond my introduction, my pledge to you. I will continue to foster an active and engaged community. As it remains one of the key to a successful UK. By encouraging and maintaining an active player base, we can achieve our long-term strategic objectives. In Erepublik, the success of any country hinges on the majority of its citizens optimising their Military Rank and Aircraft Rank while working in coordination and harmony. Given the game's development, this has become of utmost importance.
Active participation in training wars and taking advantage of player support schemes can greatly enhance citizens' gaming experience and maximise their potential within the game. A higher Military Rank directly translates to increased damage output in battles, allowing citizens to effectively represent their country and contribute to its overall success. Similarly, optimising one's Aircraft Rank can make individuals a more formidable force in air battles, significantly bolstering the UK's air power. It can also reduce any resentment others hold against our players who are most optimal at doing this.
One challenge in Erepublik is the gap between new players and experienced ones with higher Military Rank and Aircraft Rank. It is crucial we continue to provide support and encouragement to new players, helping them grow their ranks and remain engaged in the game, despite any initial disadvantages they may face.
Therefore, my government will continue to offer advice, strategies, and assistance to help new players navigate the complexities of the game more effectively. We will provide guidance on military and aircraft rank strategies, resource management, economic development, and overall game progression. By doing so, we aim to create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and ensures a rewarding experience for all players.
To further enhance your experience as a UK citizen I'd like to introduce a new player support scheme (pending Congressional approval) and a Military Rank Leaderboard to encourage weekly growth targets (rewards aspect pending Congressional approval)

Of course, I won't be alone in my endeavors. In terms of my cabinet, I intend to continue working with the same citizens who have been part of my team. These individuals bring a wealth of expertise and share a strong commitment to the progress of our country. Together, we have set targets to aim.
Cabinet
Wingfield, as Prime Minister and Vice Country President (PM/vCP), will provide valuable guidance and overseeing the efficient administration of my government.
Target/s - Active contributions to the cabinet. Communicate on behalf of the Country President / Government when required.
Select28, as Minister of Defence (MoD) - is responsible for operational planning, coordination of armed forces, and provision of necessary resources. Supporting the military and ensuring preparedness. Oversight on the MoD Bounty Scheme.
Rory Winterbourne II, as Deputy Minister of Defence for Statistics and Strategy (dMoD) is responsible analysing and interpreting data related to military operations, battles, and soldier performance. Working in tandem with the Minister of Defence, this deputy will provide valuable insights to optimise military strategies and resource use.
Target/s - Active contributions to the cabinet. Daily Orders updated, communication and liaison with our fighters, pilots and Commanders as required, valuable insights to optimise military strategies and resource use.
Sambo223, Minister of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) - will gather information, form relationships with foreign governments, and handle diplomatic matters. Updating Congress/Nation on world affairs.
Target/s - Active contributions to the cabinet. Reports to the Government on matters of Foreign Affairs, improves our relationships with other countries and acts in a manner fitting for our international strategy, keeps abreast of world wide events and highlights any that may affect our country. Articles as required.
Betafoxtrot, as Minister of Education (MoED), will spearhead the efforts to cultivate a strong and engaged community, ensuring that our players have the resources and support they need.
Target/s - On demand advice and guidance,
To ensure sound financial management, I will continue as Minister of Finance. (MoF) I have extensive knowledge and experience, and keep a watchful eye on our income and expenditure, facilitate financial policies, and provide recommendations for budgeting and donation proposals.
Target/s - To continue maximise our non-tax revenue streams so the UK tax payer doesn’t have to foot the full cost of our player support schemes. Provide reporting and economic analysis on programme costs as required.
Ministry of Health and Home Affairs - Mr. Woldy (MoH / MoHA) - will continue to have a crucial role in enhancing the overall gaming experience for players.
Target/s - To continue to actively participate in our online communities, organise national giveaways, promote player support schemes and foster a positive community spirit.
Ministry of Communication - Mr Immanuel Kant (MoC) - Interact with players to gather feedback regarding their gaming experience, preferences, and suggestions for improvements.
Target/s - Player retention and communication
I would also take this opportunity to encourage citizens who want to be a part of the government (any role) to get in touch about getting involved!
Together, as a unified and dedicated team, we will work tirelessly to realise our vision for the United Kingdom. We are committed to fostering a friendly community where our pilots and fighters can earn military and aircraft ranks, as well as medals and achievements, through well-administered training wars. We will allocate our resources effectively, ensuring that our revenue supports our player base while maintaining a healthy and balanced financial position.
We will uphold individual freedom and promote social equality within the UK, fostering an environment that empowers every citizen. Externally, we will maintain friendly and cordial communication to preserve our stable international position and strengthen our diplomatic ties.
Manifesto - Continuation of expected Government Activity
Foreign Affairs, Finance, Player Support and Defence
My Government will continue to manage our eleven training wars for the UK. These have been administered to the highest of standards required of our citizens and partners.
In addition, we will continue to support the Christmas Air Programme, Air Cadet Programme, and British Armed Forces Q7 Weapon Rewards Scheme, which enable our citizens to participate in weekly challenges and events.
We will continue to provide further guidance for optimising aircraft rank development, earning Sky Hero medals, and utilising Epic Air Round Battles to accumulate Prestige Points for better resource development. We will also look to provide more guidance for Military Rank development. The provision of UK Epic training wars will continue when possible.
The rank growth of its citizens remains vital to any nation as the military module remains king. This is no different for the UK so all our citizens growing strength and rank is a great commodity to maintain.
Our monetary market activity should continue to generate additional revenue beyond our taxable income. We should ensure our important regions for producers will remain free or in the case of Scotland occupied by a non-TW partner country with 200% weapon bonus (currently our friends from Taiwan). Our tax revenue from our training war partners will continue to be returned. Our "spare" resources should be part of concession agreements with other countries (at this time with Spain our long-standing concessions partner). If elected I will continue to lead on these.
These economic activities provides the eUK vital sources of additional sources of revenue which can support existing player support scheme or be invested into new player support schemes

Final thoughts
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and I also want to thank you for your support during my past terms as Country President. My vision for our country has remained the same - a friendly community where our citizens can grow and be successful, open, transparent communication and administration to support individual freedom and social equality.
If re-elected, I will continue to prioritise player support, economic activities, and military and aircraft rank growth. I will ensure the high standards of our training wars and support schemes are maintained and hopefully introduce a couple of great new schemes.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to continuing to serve the best interests of our citizens if elected again. \o/
Thanks for reading

Question for both candidates (will also put on beta's manifesto article):
I went back and checked new signups to eRepublik for eUK for May and June.
There are NO players still alive from the May signups, and only one still alive from June (and they joined end of June). So for at least seven weeks of signups, we have a bunch of newly dead eCitizens.
What do you suggest we do to retain newly signed up players?
Thank you for the question, Artela. New player retention is indeed an important issue, and I appreciate you bringing it up.
We have been actively working on improving the new player experience and ensuring better retention. We have recently implemented an overhaul for the eUK Portal to support players signing up to play in the eUK. Big shout out to Betafoxtrot and Mr Woldy for their efforts in the overhaul.
Additionally, we have updated the new player message to direct them to the eUK Portal, where they can find a one-stop shop page for all their learning and mentoring needs. (Thanks to you and all others who contributed the message)
This page includes a list of the eUK's mentors and a summary of new player tips. Our goal is to encourage new players to connect with mentors who can guide them through the complexities of the game and help them integrate into the community. We also encourage the use of optional off-site platforms like Discord to further engage with the community and provide a more immersive experience.
While there may not be an easy fix, by offering support, guidance, and a welcoming community, we aim to increase new player retention and create a positive environment that fosters growth and longevity in the game.
Lolz, maybe not give out gold tied to new citizens?
Kinda cute that you think the new signups were new real people.
In order to get gold from new citizens they have to do stuff 😛

Hard hitting citizens and commanders should not be elevated above the public or Congress for political decisions. That's basically a junta isn't it? We all have a stake in the UK, and we are not second class citizens if our strength isn't high. If big hitters refuse to fight in the event we are attacked, as some in your party suggest, why are we training them. Either they back the UK and any decisions the UK democratically takes or they don't...
There might have been a loss in clarity in what I wrote. I have no doubt our hard hitting citizens and commanders would defend the UK if we are attacked. In-fact I back this over finding like minded support abroad to carry out our defense. My point was I don't see the demand for an undefined defensive alliance from many citizens, their congressional representation, our hardest hitting citizens or MU commanders. I've got the tally at around 6 or 7 citizens (across our wide spectrum of citizens regardless of strength or experience) who spoken in favour of joining or forming an alliance based around finding defensive allies. Although I'm not privy to all discussions in the UK on this matter so I might be missing some of this demand.
Do a congress vote so we can get a clear picture.
This definitely needs to be a Congress discussion.
I have put it to congress 3 times it constantly get buried then ignored.
"Any alliance arrangement would inviably lead to mutual defense obligations, conflict and hopefully a measure of extra defense however at the cost of a restriction of choices in terms of training war partners"
An Alliance arrangement could lead to battles that actually mean something, fun conflicts and possibly even more training war partners.

Good on you writing a campaign article after you have been CP so long, a lot would not.
Needs to if his opponent does.
I've lost count of the number of times we've been blindsided by some sort of invasion or attack under your 'leadership'. You are a fine gentleman and the best MoF we've had (with no scrutiny).
I have absolutely no faith in your ability as a leader. We are a farm and you are a fine farmer, I have little doubt you will be elected chief farmer once again with little care for wider geopolitical occurrences.
I agree with everything you've said, but find myself reaching a different conclusion.
If you've got 20 acres in the middle of the countryside, your choices involve arable or dairy farming; concreting over it and building skyscrapers, will be mighty novel but, is unlikely to return a profit. So why don't we get together in perfect harmony with the guy who already has 43 and a combine harvester.
You seem to miss the points that we narrowly avoided being at war this past month when a DoW was declared against us in case that other country needed to prevent France escaping in our direction. They did not ask first. Next time they might follow through and we have no contingency for that.
Will you, as the CP, create a fair and impartial Discord server for the UK that isn't run solely by members of one shifty party?
From my experience those running the eUK Discord are looking to make it a fair and impartial server for all in the UK. The eUK Discord should remain a positive and inclusive environment for all. If this hasn't been your experience I would like to know more. In the interest of cross-party representation those running the server have invited me into the moderation team. Hopefully all of us (you, I, the rest of the moderation team and all in the UK) can work together to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable participating.
I am glad you are invited to be a mod. The Spamicants running it made it very unfair.
If you’re gonna use slurs you deserve a time out imo
As CP, can you re-examine some of our TW "partners" - there seem to be some D4 players in some of those countries who don't like to lose battles even when they are supposed to (*cough* Bulgaria *cough😉
Bulgaria is good at doing that.
I have found all our training war partners have been responsive and cooperative partners in my experience. There are always a few citizens in all nations that don't follow agreed rules. If you have some specific examples, please provide them and I'm happy to share the details with the relevant training war partner Government. We'll see if there is something their government can do to reduce any repeats of the situation.
I mean just vote an Airstrike and attack us If we are such a bother. I guess your congress have made their mind at this point already.
When your people are routinely laying down over 500M D4 damage in each round of a training war then it is no longer a training war. This latest round right at the start of the round the Bulgarian (cvetandobrev) laid down over 800M damage in the first 2 minutes of the battle. Why? What is the point when in this battle it is supposed to be the eUK winning the round? It isn't just his guy by the way, this is a regular routine thing with the bulgarians 🙁
it all seems and looks very organized. i hope one can benefit from any of the above. It will keep your citizens happy with all these things going on. well done. good work to all.
