Current Congressional Votes Including Blacklisting WTP Leadership

This article comes sooner than I expected my next one to come out but I and others feel it is needed to explain in more detail what is happening in Congress at the moment. Misinformation due to some players using discord and others not is bound to happen. I will try to set the current events straight and am always happy to answer any discord messages or in-game mail messages.

We have 2 active votes taking place in Congress at the moment. The simple one is:

Amend the Government Program Eligibility Act to Cover Illegal Immigration

This was opened for discussion by DMJ (Fed & Deputy Speaker), then moved to a proposal and vote by Arrden (BSP & Deputy Speaker).

The change proposed is:

“Players who enter the eUSA illegally (without approval by IES) are not eligible for government-funded programs until cleared by IES”

The main reason for this is the never-ending battle against rogue approvals by sitting congress members who bring in new citizens, join their party, and then take government funds without following the widely accepted and congress-approved laws.

The vote as of this article is 10 yes, 1 abstain, 0 no votes.

Some confusion about what exactly we were discussing was presented by those who don’t use discord as congress members and the full text of the proposed change has been provided.

I expect this will continue the voting trend as pass easily.

The other active vote is as follows:

Blacklist WTP leadership - SteffanoS and Dominar Rygel XVI for repeated violations of IES protocols and improper use of communication channels regularly.

This was opened for discussion by Henry William French (BSP) and brought to proposal and vote by myself (Rough Riders)

Anytime leaders of a party, let alone the highest populated party, are directly voted on in a vote it will bring about tension, misinformation, and conflict.

The eUS has had a very clear, long-established IES protocol which includes the application, investigation, approval by the IES director, then approval by any available sitting congress member (delegates do not have the in-game ability to do this).

As for government communication channels, if my memory is correct on our shared history, BSP and WTP pushed for in-game voting for those that make the active decision to not engage in the META (discord, old forums, telegram). This was passed with plenty of bi-partisan support as a show of good faith to bring our political parties together to function better.

Included in this in-game voting were clear instructions for vote threads, etc. to contain only the required responses per the direction of the Speaker and his/her team. WTP leadership has consistently violated these directives, causing tension between WTP and the other parties.

This vote is not a vote against WTP in the slightest as it will be portrayed by Dom and SteffanoS no doubt, but a vote directly against their refusal to follow the majority voted on and approved policies for how we govern ourselves in the eUS.

For those of you newer to the game, the META was the game for the supermajority of players for many years. The eUS Code and Constitution have been written, edited, and watched over by keen minds for well over a decade now. This isn’t a rag-tag operation we run in the eUS when we follow our established policies, in fact, it’s one of the most organized countries in the game. The people who love playing the META are who thanks go to for preserving a key part of the old game that still is who we are as the eUS today.

Another statement you will hear from the leaders of WTP is that this is a PTO. If the entire country wanted to PTO the WTP, it would already be done. There is no plan to do this because this vote again, is only targeted at the 2 leaders. Many of us hope the WTP elects new leadership to regain some of its former golden days and join the rest of the parties in moving our country forward without absurdities, hostile language, and refusal to follow established policies.

I am well aware many didn’t want to put their name on this article and write it, as it would make them “partisan”. I’m not partisan if you know me. I founded the Rough Riders in an attempt to end partisanship along with incredible other founders you know well. I’ve had game friends in every party, and many of them joined me in the Rough Riders. I can only promise you that this isn’t an attack on WTP, but on the leadership. If any of you think Voots and Thee Dude are heavy in political partisanship you are clueless.

In the end, this vote will pass and they will both be blacklisted. As of writing this article vote stands at:

18 yes, 2 abstain, 2 no - discord voting

5 yes, 6 no, 2 abstain - in-game voting

I truly look forward to WTP analyzing their leadership choices by electing new blood or someone who wishes to work with the rest of our country and prosper together.
