[UKRP] certacito - Party President Elections - July 2017

Day 3,525, 01:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by certacito

This article is my manifesto for the July Party Presidential Elections in which I am standing as a cndidate to lead my beloved UK Reform Party [UKRP].

The UKRP has had a tough couple of months, firstly with my old friend Appleby enduring one of his less successful Country President terms ever in which he managed to unite a large slice of the population - against some of his policies and persona. Things brightened with the phoenix like return of DishMCDS, one of the all time great leaders of eUK and UKRP history to win again in the Country Presidential elections. The opostition, bouyed up by their success in rallying against dear old Apples mounted another unpleasant and personal campaign aimed at Dish. Who knows exactly what happened, but something snapped, leading to Dish doing a 'Sod you then' rage quit in the middle of his term as CP, which immediately led to an impeachment and the installation of CptChazbeard as CP.

So - where does that leave us in the UKRP? Bruised and a little batteredi, but otherwise intact.... We now enter a period of coalition Government - which is probably a good thing - where with our support we can help manoeuvre the most talented individuals irrespective of party, into the Government - whilst doing our best to encourage and grow new talent. We also have an important regulatory role in which we monitor the performance of our Government - and highlight and irregularities (such as the disappearence of the Treasury or the Minister of Education awarding himself the National Lottery Prize). one of the best deterrents we have to combat eRep Crimes of State is oour ability to 'Name and Shame' combined with our collective memory to ensure that past crimes are not forgotten.

Which is probably a good point to focus on the upcomiing Party Elections.....

I joined the bright New World of eRepublik on day 10 of it's existance - and have been here ever since. I have seen massive changes in the in-game mechanics and the constantly changing populations of our eWorld, but have always been able to harvest enough fun and satisfaction from the proceedings to keep me going.

I have served as a member of the UKRP ever since it's inception (never been in any other political party) and have served as a member of Congress somewhere in the order of 65 times (in case you are wondering about the medal count - the concept of 'medals' was introduced into the game about a year and a half after it started).

Last term I stood aside to allow my wonderfully hairy friend WookieO to fill the PP position, but this term I am not going to do so.

The role of the Party President is an important one; he (or she) has two main tasks to complete. The first (and most obvious) of these is the selection of the Party Batting Order in the Congressional Elections; with the current 'simplified' election process, the electorate simply vote for the Party and not the individual candidates, so the batting order effectively controls *who* makes it into Congress and who does not. Ensuring that we achieve the optimum mix of Members of Congress is really important; we need a good spread of active and responsible individuals who will conduct their Congressional Duties dilligently and effectively. It is also very important not to MISS OUT key members of the team as this can have a considerable effect on our Team morale and dynamic.

The second, (and slightly less obvious) duty of the Party President is to promote and maintain the Party. This involves attracting new party members, growing them within the Party and getting them into positions where they can best use their talents, whilst maintaining the morale and cohesion of the rest of the Party Faithful. Alongside this, the Party President has to forge and maintain relationships with other Partiess (particularly when in 'opposition' configuration).

My position in Government has always been one of cooperative management where *all* Party Members and eUK citizens are important. I am not a great believer in inter-Party flaming or insults; my experience is that collectively we can achieve better results by working together rather than chucking bricks at each other!

In my last term as PP, we had both CptChazbeard and Prince Harry as UKRP members - and even ran Harry (successfully) as Country President - a role in which he acquitted himself well! In less that the space of a month, both of these hugely talented players left the UKRP to join the erstwhile 'opposition' - which in turn ultimately led to the impeachment of both of our last two UKRP Country Presidents...

What the UKRP needs now is a wise and inclusive PP who listens and reacts to the needs and aspirations of Party Members. By making surethat nobody gets left out and that we put the best people forward to fill Governemt posts, we should be able to operate a rewarding (and exciting) eUK from which we can all harvest a load of excitement and satisfaction!

Whilst many appreciate cat pictures, I have to admit that I do have a weakness for red heads, so in remembrance of the once great Red Head Fridays....

So - please use your vote wisely - and vote certacito for UKRP Party President!

USE YOUR UKRP VOTE TODAY FOR A BETTER PARTY!
