[CP] Day One

Day 4,948, 06:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Dear all,

First of all thank you so much for electing me President of the eUK. I hope that I can serve you well and if you have any problems or issues please don't hesitate to get in touch with me or any of my team, either in game or on telegram.

Cabinet

Prime Minister
Sir Humphrey Appleby

Sir Humphrey Appleby is no stranger to the world of politics. A 63-term Congress Member and 14-term president the wealth of experience and knowledge will be invaluable to me over the next month

Governor
Huey George

I don’t think words can do justice to Huey George’s contribution to the eUK. A master of the Treasury, I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have looking after the economy.

Unfortunately that is where the list ends for now - there perhaps hasn't been the rush one might hope to join government. If there is anyone however interested in helping out in any way, please do get in touch, the more the merrier and we could certainly do with some friends 🙂

Updates

Finnish NE Proposal

A couple days ago there was a proposed NE against the UK by Finland. The proposal failed to reach the 66% majority required for it to pass and I have been assured by the Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs that it was just a rogue proposal. I have no reason to doubt this and Finland has helped in our talks with the Irish in the past so I very much endeavour to keep the positive relations between our countries going.

TW with Chile

Thanks to the tireless work of Sir Humphrey Appleby, who effectively took the reigns after Frix went awol near the end, we have managed to secure a second TW this time with the Chileans. They are currently camped in the East of England and we will started ping-ponging between there and London imminently.

The Irish

As you may be aware the current peace-deal with the Irish officially ends on the 19th. With this in mind we have already begun informal talks with the Irish. Firstly to just simply restart communications between our governments, something that hasn't been the case over the last month or so, and to secondly start the negotiation process for this new peace-deal. I hope that these talks will be positive and I will update you on them as they progress. Of course any deal would have to be passed by our respective congresses and as such I am very happy that we have been able to start these talks so early so that we can maximise the potential of a new deal being reached and ratified by both congresses before the June 19th deadline.

Signing Off

Thank you again for electing me your President. I will give another update in a few days time.

Until then,

Yurigavin
President of the eUK
