I know statistics such as those above are pretty pointless, but the point remains that this costs way to much. I'm sure people would welcome some sort of explanation as to how you can fund this when you have 100+ members?

Its called using Gov WRM (CD) and Q7 companies. to soak up costs se we really on WRM rather then buying a Q7 wep.

Probably no mention of Appleby because it's entirely unrelated to the article. The point is sustainability, if it needed our savings then its not sustainable anyway.

Also the profit margin on Q7's is small, so the difference between buying Q7's of the market or making your own is equally small, maybe 15% if you have free labour.

Thats still about £610 or 29% of tax in the example above for 7 people

The exact terms according to the article is that if he loses DC will give him a hell of a hard time, and if he wins they'll let him do what he wants.

After doing some quick maths, if we doubled tax like congress discussed at the start of the congress term, we'd still be waaay short if the MU gets as many members as BigAnt wants it to.

But it won't get anywhere near the numbers as do you honestly believe that Dapper, or one of the other 'old guard' won't be put in charge, unless they just shift their party MU members into it. Doesn't matter how they portray it, it will just be Vendettas' MU in all but name

Obviously the idea is to subsidise cost with charity where possible but the management of the whole scheme is daft. The correct process for determining a national MU should be

1. An assessment of available production facilities: A list of available factories that are available for the use of the unit. Nothing lower than Q7 and rubber companies should be considered, even the rubbers would be for overflow and probably not useful, I'd have to run some calculations first to figure it out..

2. Bulk suppliers of wrm located, e.g. the government raws on Count Drakula and people like myself who might consider selling discounted wrm to a national unit. You'll need generous folks though, as selling at a discount of just 0.01 is a 25% cut to most peoples turnover

3. Using the available Q7 factory spaces and wrm supplies calculate the cost of each 5 SUPPLIED members. I say 5 as in times of core bonuses, 3 workers would produce nearly enough to supply 5 members and the other 2 could be used to provide more wrm. Obviously the cost is the pittance given (min wage, obvs) and the cost of the wrm needed. Every block of 5 will have a different cost, obviously, based on how much free/discounted raw you can get your hands on.

4. Determine what is a reasonable daily expenditure on the unit, figure out how many groups of 5 you can supply (rounding down, obviously) and cap the SUPPLIED limit to that. If it's 20, it's 20, if it's 24.9, it's 20. If it's 100, it's 100, whatever it is that limit does not get exceeded, and people are only taken on in groups of 5.

5. Invite non-supplied members to work for the commune to provide a wee bit of extra help (factor this into previous steps as part of a continuous process, obvs) and then determine how to decide who gets supplies

6. Finally, work out lost bonuses contingency plans. Personally, as mean as it sounds, I'd simply scale back supplies when bonuses dwindle. Only way to be sustainable.

Least that's what I think.

It could therefore be posed that with SHA not being castigated, that a CP has complete discretionary use over funds upto £300K for as long as he/she feels it is required and therefore this experiment is BA's "theft of funds!"

Exactly Alfa, one months worth. 100 members in a national MU receiving a daily supply of 10 q7's is going to far outstrip our daily tax income, leaving us no money for MPPs or any other expenditure. It's unsustainable

So? Several people can. On a small scale. I can afford more than that on my own and I'm pretty minor compared to a lot of others. The whole point of a National MU is so anyone can join and get supplies. What happens when the numbers build up? The Legion failed, and it was funded by several people who tirelessly worked for it. What will make this MU succeed where the Legion failed?

Are you suggesting that the plan is for the government to start building up companies so it can afford this, and if so, how would this work, since as far as I'm aware the government can't own companies directly? Because the numbers pretty clearly show that the government can't afford it just through the money that comes in from taxes.

Government used to own A LOT of companies via citizen accounts. They were all stolen without anyone complaining by older players and the records "lost" by MoFs. Some of these rich ex CPs / ex Ministers are rich because of this theft.

So that would be a "no" to the government owned companies then? 🙁

I'm not sure I would define Alfagrem's number of companies as modest.....
But ultimately this will pass or fail depending on the support of older citizens. Personally I like the idea of a national MU (in theory), but I'm not sure we're united enough as a nation to make it work.
BigAnt has some strengths but he isn't the person to unite the nation into a common goal, indeed I doubt anyone is..... funny really because I hope we all want the same thing, a successful and strong UK, but sometimes I do wonder. Oh well back to two clicking for me.
