The great party "We The People"
Alegretto
Hello, dear friends and compatriots.
Dear colleagues, I have decided to run for the presidency of “We The People” and I am asking for your support.
To introduce myself a little, I have a some experience, more than 13 years and for a long time I chose to play in my native country because I have a better command of the language, English being my second spoken language. I have American citizenship in real life too, if that's what you want to ask me.
Very late I became interested in the military module of this game. The economic one captivated me initially as well as the political module. However, I never ran for the position of party president. Why? Simple, because it is work and responsibility to be party president and I still haven't forgotten that this is still a game. Every time I chose the easy way and kept myself as the right hand of the party president or somewhere in the close circle to lend a helping hand. It's the position that suits me the most in the game, so please don't let anyone ever feel that I'm trying to take his place.
You could never be more wrong.
But what changed then? Well, two days ago you were all informed about the discussions in Congress and you know that things are not exactly right.
https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/current-congressional-votes-including-blacklisting-wtp-leadership-2762849/1/20
Reading that article, I was a bit lost in thought and with divided opinions, not knowing what is good and what is bad here.
On one hand, I welcome the initiative to communicate openly, for as long as I can remember I have campaigned for greater openness to dialogue and information on all subjects, including those of military strategy. All the more, I see any Congress event as a public event.
On the other hand, however, I feel compelled to defend the honor of our colleagues who come out a little defamed from this article, perhaps even without the will of the authors of the article. And I want to defend them not only because they are our leaders, not only because they are honorable members of our party but especially because they are valuable members of our community, because they are our friends and colleagues of all the citizens of this great eNation.
On one hand we have rules and methods created by the game we are playing, on the other hand we come up with rules and methods that overlap the primary rules and even tend to take their place.
On one hand, we are a society based on rules and their observance, on the other hand, no one plays this game to be punished. It is horrifying if we, as a society, have come to punish our colleagues and friends in a game that is anyway sprinkled with incorrect or immoral rules.
I don't know what to believe and how to act, so I will need your help. Regardless of whether you support me or not as party president, I will continue to have this dilemma.
The major problem that I see in our society is that we simulate democracy without having a real separation of powers. And above all, we constantly have the threatening sword of the establishment of a military dictatorship over our heads.
And without having professional lawyers or even a judge's position in the game, we start creating laws and rules without paying attention to their consequences, to their understanding and interpretation. And then who applies these imperfect rules? Do we have independent justice in this game? No!
Well, dear compatriots, history teaches us very clearly that any government that takes the path of dictatorship begins with controlling justice. Well then, how can we do justice here, in this game, without risking to lose our basic freedom rights? Who will do it?
Look, today we got to see congressmen of one party, elected by you through a vote in which we all participated, how they are stopped from entering the Congress by members of another party. The reasons really don't matter if we managed to find ourself in so low respect for the gesture to elect and being elected.
Please don't misunderstand me, far from me to pursue non-compliance with rules. It is the foundation of our society and our party name is a reminder of the superiority of the law in our society.
But how can a law created by us, players lacking the judge function in the game and the necessary experience in real life, contradict basic constitutional common sense? How can we so easily accept that a law of a lower rank can eliminate another law of a higher rank?
That's my dilemma.
Let's come back.
The first thing I want to do as party president is to involve the entire organization in contributing to the creation of the list for the Congress. I am thinking of a vote within the party for this purpose.
I have never liked to see too much power in the hands of too few people, and the power that a party president has to make the lists in a discretionary way without consulting anyone, I dislike terribly.
I want to proceed in the same way with the presidential candidate, but it is possible to postpone this aspect, I don't know to what extent the party is already engaged or not in alliances and promises that we have to honor.
Also, the position of vice president will be clearly reserved for the former president. I would really like this to become a rule in our party and to depend less on the will of the new president. From the head of the party, everybody leaves with their forehead held high and into applause of the entire party.
Dear friends, this is the moment, help me implement this plan. Thanks.
Vote Allegretto.

Gooooooooooooooo!
You seem like a decent, thoughtful player. I hope you can help to restore some degree of internal democrcy and external goodwill, respect and decency to the WTP, a party that has been sorely lacking both for some time.
Long ago, the WTP was a fun, engaged, interesting party that espoused an open approach to game play, welcomed all players, and participated actively in the larger community. After a long demise, it was revived, directed by a fellow (who had first tried to PTO and destroy that party, creating an immense amount of bad feelings) who was interested only in personal power and influence. To echo a point you've made, he knew how to effectively use game mechanics but chose to ignore both the spirit and the letter of establshed community agreements. Is that type of game play "illegal" in any real sense? Of course not. Is it annoying and aggravating to the community you're working in and with? Absolutely.
In the following period it became clear that the party's leadership was willing to circumvent all community norms in order to assure its place at the top, thus creating more bad feelings. And as if throwing fuel on the fire, the party went on to become of the home of a number of vocal far-right and extremely divisive figures who took trollish delight in echoing the dangerously divisive politics that had emerged in the rl USA during the Trump years. This included racist, anti-semitic, misogynisti, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and laughing about and defending the rl attack by right-wing extremists on the US capital on Jan. 6, 2021.
A lot of this was the action of just a few players. There have always been good and decent players in the WTP and there still are. But associating with the kind of neo-fascist role playing outlined above leaves, in the mind of members of many other parties (especially of mine, I suppose), an aura of suspicion and doubt.
Any way. Sorry for long post. I wish you well.
I meant to say "tried to PTO and destroy _my_ party" (the SFP).
Wasn’t the pp of wtp a longtime sfp crony?
Thanks for being interested in what I've wrote here.
In my opinion there wrere in every contry and probbable in most top parties stories like that.
That is the past an it may be anytime the very present for some but we are clearly going away from this kind of stories.
We can keep them in mind if we want but is not fair to judge the present bringing stories from the past. Very soon those stories will beocome legends and then even historians will treat them like invented stories or just yet unprooved facts.
I'm pretty much sure that I don't want to live to much in the past. I do preffere future but for sure I understand
how resilient a bad sentiment provoked by others can be.
Thanks for your comment.
I wouldn't pay any attention to the dribble that someone who hates our party is writing in the comments here, with his biased version of events. And yes, I am pro-traditional marriage. Proud of it.... Not that this has anything to do with the game whatsoever.
I've written about this before. WTP was near death when former PP Oblige invited Chickensguys to come over with his friends(me included) to save the party. Apparently this is a "PTO". If you research far back enough on the SFP election page you'll find they actually did PTO their party from another group in the past, so it's a little rich with irony here. He doesn't seem to understand the difference between consensual merger and theft.
As for the recent drama, I already explained in the Congress. I don't know what others did or didn't do, but I had no role in it. It's just popular to lump me in to whatever they're doing though. I guess truth or evidence matters not. When I exposed a former CP here as a liar and a multi who was actually another player the above individual did not care at all.
Best of luck....
You're probbable right.
