Interview with the president of eCuba

Hello everyone, i come with a great interview with the president of eCuba - Janty F, i really hope u will enjoy this!


1. Hello to u Mr. President - Janty F, the president of eCuba thank you for agree to make this interview with me, would u agree at first to introduce yourself?

Thank you for inviting me here. From RL perspective - I am 24 years old, male, currently preparing to work as saboteur... I mean... operator of nuclear power plant in Czech Republic. (if you are reading this, and you live nearby CZ, consider buying an atomic shelter 😛 ) . As for eRep - I have a frequently updated Wiki page with all achievements I have ever achieved. But people will know me from various political positions from either Cuba or Czech Republic.


2. What u love the most about eRep?

The unique concept and community in this game - I mean, there is a lot of on-line games and a lot of on-line communities, but none of them can be compared to eRepublik. Plus, thanks to this game, I am able to maintain a good knowledge of both English and basics passive Spanish - so it even has a positive influence for my personal life 😃 !


3. Can u tell us how it is feel to be the president of eCuba this small country?

Since this is my third (and last) time to be president of Cuba, I think I have enough experience to summarize this position. Being President in Cuba is quite different from other smaller countries, because in Cuba, you have a lot of regulations and laws you need to follow and subsidies you need to distribute and publish. When I was president in Czech Republic, I could do nothing for an entire week, and nobody would notice. The same goes for a lot of other smaller countries (unless they need to control TW, in which case they need to press attack button each day). In Cuba, you are silent for three days, and people are already starting impeachment, because you missed a date on some law 😃 ! And trust me - it is not easy to fulfill all these laws correctly - only during my third attempt I actually managed to fulfill all of them successfully. And that goes for majority of other Cuban Presidents as well.


4. U are here in this game since 2010 how do u conclude ur way so far?

Hehe - I am here from 2010, but I was 2-cliclking during the first year (whch I regret, because the politics in 2010 Czechoslovakia was quite interesting, unlike today), then I was not active for three years, and I actually fully emerged into the game and all its modules only after 2014 (which explains, why my account is so bad). But with being more active, I enjoy this game much more - I am not sure, if I could survive here long enough while only 2-clicking anymore.



5. Tell us shortly about eCuba economy and market

I think both of them are quite good for a small country. We have a lot of producers with factories outside Cuba, who are able to supply our market with food, weapons and houses with prizes similar to international level (and since I a one of these producers, I actually sometimes need to go below international prize sto sell my food quickly). We only suffer shortages in raw materials (and aerial weapons, but nobody uses those anyway). But because we managed to get quite good bonuses during last Resource Wars for both weapons and food, we have a lot domestic producers as well - so our income from taxes is not bad, in comparison with most of countries of our size. Of course, having good bonuses means other peope will get interested in you - and that is why we are currently renting one of our regions to Slovenia, and we rented two regions to Portugal long time before as well.



6. What is the hardest war against eCuba that u remember?

All of them were hard, since we were always attacked by a country, which was considered to be stronger at the time! Latvia, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela (as far as I remember). I would rather highlight one of our offensive actions, which actually happened during my first presidency, when we attacked and fully occupied Egypt, together with France and Spain. It was not exactly hard militarily (even though Egypt focused on us initially), but the amount of cooperation was quite high, and I wish we could do something like that in the future 🙂 .


7. Slovenia and Portugal took lands from ur country is it a TW or a real war?

In case of Slovenia it is a rental deal (which will probably have to be changed, when Plato introduces his new renting rules), and with Portugal and Lithuania we have Training War.


8. Cuba have less than 180 players how can u face against strong countries?

With allies and activity. Our allies from ORION, despite their size, can give amazing support, whenever we need. And if it is not enough, there is always Asteria around to help. However, we are also competitive because of our activity. From these 180 players, more than 100 voted in the last elections (which means more than 100 of these accounts actually log into the game regularly). Try to find another country, where more than 50% accounts log-in regularly and participate like this. There is not many of them.



9. Can u please tell us about the relationship between eCuba and eUS?

The relationship certainly is a difficult one, because before it got wiped, the attitude of America was... quite arrogant at times. For example, when I returned back to the game in 2014 in Czech Republic, I have learned eUS humiliated our nation in front of the entire world. Few years after, and the same person from eUS (I will not name him, but I am sure everyone knows, who I am talking about 😉 ) is contacting Cuba and threatens us, that if we allow Spain to go through Cuba to have Training War (!!) with Mexico (eUS ally, which agreed to that TW, even though two days ago they completely reversed suddenly), he will wipe Cuba. Honestly - I believe our two countries can have good relationship in the future. But eUS needs to have a new leadership, which will no longer repeat the mistakes of previous administrations. You have a lot of good people in eUS (I will name Feynmann as one of them, because I love his articles, but there are more), who can make this change happen, I firnly believe it.


10. If u could change ANY THING in this game tell us 1 things u were pick to change and why?

Only one 🙁 ? I can name so many of them - better Division system, Beginner Training Grounds for new players, True Ally medals, scaling damage for True Patriot Medals (this one was actually suggested by one of my friends to me), Air damage medals, better Air weapons, community competitions from admins, more events and missions... can this count as one 😶 😶 ? Hopefully with Plato being active again, we will see some interesting changes happening - overall, I quite like the latest proposed changes, and some of the past changes were good as well - for example country feed or raw materials denomination... we just need more of that 🙂 .


11. What is your advice for the other president at Erepublik?

If you have never been president before, do not be afraid of it and try your luck! It is not as hard as you think, and you can meet a lot of new people while being a CP (just look at me meeting this nice young reporter here, that would never happened, if I was a mere 2-clicker 😉 ). If you have been President before and you are going to be President again - think about something new, something innovative, which will bring fun and motivate people to stick around!


12. Before we end, do u have any message u want to send to our readers?

Yup - an advice, which I myself need from time to time. Remember - after all, this is just a game. We usually play games to have fun. And other people do as well. Therefore - this should not a place to ventilate (or even gather) anger and frustration and creative negative emotions. Conflicts cannot be fully avoided, but we can atleast try to prevent them. I see it many times around me - two people getting angry at each other, because of something stupid and pointless happened in-game. The argument soon spirals out of control, the root cause is lost, and those people just continue insult each other endlessly. I was one of those people - one of my current best friends in-game (Astaroth) - when he became CP after me in late 2017, I insulted and attacked him for the entire month, claiming some bad things about his mental health, while he was claiming some bad things about me sabotaging our MoFA department. Was any of it true? No. Did it help? No. Was it worth it? No. Therefore instead, we later talked to each other, identified our problems... and at the beginning of the next year, I was nominating him as candidate and member of my party for CP. So... yeah... TL😉R - be nice to each other, and if you ever feel like insulting anyone, take a pause and deep breath, and think, if it is actually the best thing you can do 🙂 .
