Another week in and miraculously no accidents or incidents to report (at time of writing…). Taking advantage of this we thought we might test-run another service for those not focussing on air: Gov will sell you up to 100 Q7 weapons a week at £100ea. Those interested should check out the MoD bulletin.

Otherwise waiting for people to volunteer for gov was a predictable non-starter and each of the top 5 parties now has a representative in our Conscripted Cabinet™ for the rest of the term-

Bank of England

The bank offers a one-time £10,000 housing grant to all eUK Citizens. 23 people have claimed theirs; you have no excuse other than laziness for not getting your own!

Just prod me in the comments ‘ere or in a message and I’ll drop it off.

It’s important you have at least one q1 house active as it more than pays for itself in overtime tickets and increases your health and recovery to fight with! Make sure you get yours now gents.

The bank also offers its services as a joint trust fund between private eUK investors and gov. Profits from your money’s activity on the market are split 60% to you and 40% to the bank. Currently this is in the millions but I’ll prod Huey for an exact figure.


MoFA

We’re well overdue an article outright on our foreign affairs, will try and get one out soonish. For now though the more active of us may’ve noticed our Natural Enemy law on Ireland and a return NE from Indonesia. This is part of a multilateral training agreement between the three of us.

As is usually the case Ireland finds herself in a bizarre diplomatic position; perhaps now only just beaten by the impeachment of the Indonesian CP over the ‘Romanian Question’.

It appears from discussions with both sides that their war is far from over and negotiations have all but broken down, Indonesia switching their support to Ireland under their new CP. This puts us in a bit of an awkward one as we enjoy friendly relations with Romania and currently have them as our guests in Scotland. But the two additional ping pongs have worked wonders for filling in the gaps in our other rotationals.

I remain distantly optimistic that a diplomatic solution can be reached but am nevertheless expecting a bit of disruption should things come finally to a head.

Otherwise a brief discussion with the yanks over potentially opening a third ping pong ended in consensus it would be too much effort shifting their existing rotationals on the east coast, and other than freeing up the South West for it we’re full. Nevertheless if things change in future terms we can reopen the discussion.


MoD

Grateful for the lack of grumbling from those missing out of the air rewards we’re trialling a new service alongside stockpiling our own Q7 weapons. The Bank of England is able to bulk buy cheaper than market rates and we aim to sit on 10,000 by the end of the month.

In peacetime gov is prepared to go ‘mates rates’ and sell up to 100 a week to you at a fixed £100 each (we can bump this up in the event of a real war). If interested just give me a prod with the amount wanted and I’ll drop them off.

Otherwise the introduction of rank up rewards seems to have bumped up our kills in air as intended, payout up at £33,910 from last week’s £25,945. In addition to the base £5/kill automatically paid you can claim a bonus for every rank up to CMS*:

Airman - £1000 every *
Senior Airman - £1500 every *
Staff Sergeant - £2250 every *
Aviator - £3000 every *
Flight Lieutenant - £5000 every *
Squadron Leader - £10,000 every *
Chief Master Sergeant - £30,000
Chief Master Sergeant* - £50,000

£240,900 has been paid out in bonuses and two people have graduated from the scheme. Congrats MattScazza and Dzoniy91!

Madly veering from one topic to another, and mindful that the current New Player message is a bit ****, some have been quick to denounce my suggested replacement as too blokey/matey! I’ll let you be the judge…

‘Erepublik’ is a political, military & economy based game and you’ve picked an excellent community to play it from! At least, so say most of us…

As an opening tip I suggest you prod whoever is ‘Country President’; should be the bloke that sent you this mail. Give them a friendly hello and a reminder to do their job and they should be able to give you more advice than we can fit here to set yourself up.

Another thing before you throw this away:

DO NOT IMMEDIATELY SET UP COMPANIES

We will almost always be involved in a war; even in peacetime we train with other countries! Some regions will be reserved for it whereas others gain specific benefits from the resources we’ve placed there.

At time of writing: Move to Scotland if you want to produce weapons and Yorkshire & Humberside if you want to produce food. It’s not recommended to try housing if you’re setting yourself up but we’re happy to give advice if you do!

A few more tips before you get started

-Get the highest paid job on offer

-Prod the Country President (whoever sent this) for a £10,000 housing grant to get your first q1 house

-Try and fight exclusively in air; you can also prod for rank up rewards and will get paid £5 every kill

-Contact the NHS, a non-government service that provides food and advice (send a message to either Madelina de Melrose or Tinman.)

-Don’t be shy!
