Truly, to find out the passing of our friend is a tragedy.

Thedillpickl, or Fred in the real world, was only 62 years old and passed away just under two weeks before his 63rd birthday.

He experienced a full life, and while it was filled with some health concerns in the final few years of his life, he was always grateful and optimistic, looking at the brighter side of every situation. His faith in God was a central part of who he was, and he always wanted to help where possible.

He found his way to erepublik, and our lives here, in November of 2010. He started in the USA where he founded his military unit, Pickles Patriots. With his military unit he strived to help new players grow and get involved in their communities.

During his time playing erepublik, he also moved to Switzerland, to Canada, to Australia and finally came back to Canada as his final destination in the game. Everywhere he went he got involved in the community and played an outsized role in keeping the media alive with his articles and connecting players of all stripes together.
